ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the correlation between the testicular volume and reproductive hormones level with sperm cytological detection results in azoospermic patients .Methods Based on the WHO male infertility etiology diagnosis classification criteria ,973 azoospermic patients were divided into the obstructive azoospermia (OA ) and non‐obstructive azoospermia (NOA ) . Then NOA was divided into the existing spermatogenic cells type group and non‐existing spermatogenic cells type group according to the sperm spermatogenic cell detection results .The testicular volume and reproductive hormones levels were statistically analyzed and compared among various groups .Results In 973 azoospermia patients ,235 cases were OA (24 .15% ) and 738 cases were NOA (75 .85% ) .There were 410 cases (55 .56% ) of existing spermatogenic cells type and 328 cases(44 .44% ) of non‐existing spermato‐genic cells type .The testicular volume in the existing spermatogenic cells type group and non‐existing spermatogenic cells of NOA was clearly reduced ,the T and T/LH were lower ,while the LH and FSH levels were significantly increased ,the difference between the OA group and the NOA group had statistical difference (P0 .05) .Conclusion The testicular volume and reproductive hormones level are closely related with the detection quantity of sperm cells and the detection of T /LH is helpful for understanding the relation between the function of leydig cells and basement membrane change .

ABSTRACT

This text makes a brief introduction on the overview of translational medicine at home and abroad, especially the author’s laboratorial experience and clinical case study of bacteriology, parasitology and andrology during a period of more than 65 years. The author’s work started with the setup of model of“close relation of laboratory and clinic by Bacteriology Dept.and Parasitology Dept.of Peking Union Medical College (PUMC)in 1940s.The author interprets the correlation and feasibility of the model in laboratorial and clinical practice. This text also introduces the achievement of close coordination between laboratory and ward based on “patient-centered spirit in macro and micro innovation of view, model, method and thinking. The text aims at starting discussion, inspiring the future researchers, encouraging pioneering and innovation.Loo-king forward to the future, the author makes suggestions on the personnel training of laboratorians and applications of coop-erative model of laboratory and ward,in order to further advance the medical laboratory and andrology.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the antimicrobial susceptibility of spectinomycin?minocycline?azithromycin and sparfloxacin to mycoplasma(Uu and Mh)and therapeutic effect of spectinomycin to my-coplasma infection in genitourinary tract.Methods①The susceptibility test:each of the4drugs was divided into two concentrations. One was at1?g/mL(sensitive concentration)and the other was at4?g/mL(resistant concentration). If mycoplasma does not grow in both concentrations,it means the drug tested is sensitive. If it grows in both concentrations, the drug tested is resistant. If mycoplasma grows in lower concentration and does not in higher concentration,it means moderate sensitive.②Treatment regimen:Spectinomycin was injected,2g/d IM,for7-10days as a course of treatmeant.Patients were followed-up7days later and2~4weeks after treatment.Results①Among1658specimens,519were found Uu positive,and61Mh positive. The resis-tance rates of Uu to4different drugs were:7.7%for minocycline,21.4%for sparfloxacin,13.9%for azithromycin and7.3%for spectinomycin.Whereas, those of Mh were:18.0%,45.9%,54.1%,and29.5%re-spectively.②The clinical effect of spectinomycin was:out of43treated patients,37(86.0%)cured,4(9.3%)markedly improved,2(4.7%)failed.Total effective rate was95.3%and so was the elimination rate of my-coplasma.Conclusion The resistant rate of mycoplasma to spectinomycin is lower than that to minocycline?azithromycin and sparfloxacin, and the former is widely used in the treatment of mycoplasma(especially Uu)infection, with a satisfactory clinical effect.
