ABSTRACT

Purpose@#To identify more accurate predictors of upper urinary tract dilatation (UUTD) in neurogenic bladder (NB) children, we studied the relationship among urodynamic parameters at different bladder filling stages, detrusor leak point pressure (DLPP) and UUTD. @*Methods@#A total of 158 children (3–16 years) with NB were included and then divided into 2 groups according to whether their NB diagnosis was complicated with UUTD: the UUTD group (39 patients) and those without UUTD group (control group, 119 patients). The bladder filling phase was divided into 3 equal parts: the early, middle, and end filling stages. The bladder compliance (BC) and detrusor pressure (△Pdet) at each phase and DLPP at the end filling stage were recorded. @*Results@#A BC8 cm H2O in the early stage, 20 cm H2O in the middle stage and 25 cm H2O in the end stage are more sensitive than △Pdet >40 cm H2O in the end stage (82%, 85%, 85%, vs. 49%). A DLPP cutoff value of 20 cm H2O showed higher sensitivity for predicting UUTD than 40 cm H2O. @*Conclusions@#Low BC and a high △Pdet in the middle and end filling stages are more accurate factors than classic indicators for predicting UUTD. In addition, a DLPP value of >20 cm H2O in the end bladder filling stage shows high sensitivity.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the efficacy of ureteroscopic pneumatic lithotripsy and percutaneous renal holmium laser lithotripsy in the treatment of upper ureteral calculi. Methods A total of 132 patients with upper ureteral calculi admitted to our hospital from December 2016 to December 2017 were randomly divided into observation group and control group, 66 cases in each group. The control group underwent ureteroscopic pneumatic lithotripsy, and the observation group used percutaneous nephrolithotomy holmium laser lithotripsy. The clinical efficacy, surgical index and complication rate between two groups were compared. Results The clinical efficacy of the observation group (90. 91%) was higher than that of the control group(75. 76%),and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0. 05). The operation time of the observation group was (27. 53 ± 3. 97) minutes, which was shorter than (42. 59 ± 4. 34) minutes of the control group, and the postoperative blood loss was (18. 59 ± 5. 21) mL,which was less than (31. 68 ± 4. 72) mL of the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P < 0. 05). There was no significant difference in postoperative hospital stay between observation group[(5. 31 ± 1. 62) days]and control group[(5. 28 ± 1. 48) days](P > 0. 05). There was no significant difference in the incidence of complications between two groups (P > 0. 05). Conclusion Percutaneous nephrolithotomy with holmium laser lithotripsy is more effective than pneumatic lithotripsy in the treatment of upper ureteral calculi. It can shorten the operation time, reduce the amount of bleeding, and has higher safety.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVETo study the effects of S-3307 spraying time and density on photosynthetic characteristic of Ligusticum chuanxiong.

METHODThe photosynthetic characteristic of L. chuanxiong under different S-3307 spraying time and density was studied by plot cultivation experiment.

RESULTThe content of chlorophyll a and chlorophyll b in leaf increased when the spraying density was 20, 40, 80 mg x L(-1), while the net photosynthetic rate was the maximum. When the spraying density was 160 mg x L(-1), the content of chlorophyll a and chlorophyll as well as net photosynthetic rate were not increased.

CONCLUSIONS-3307 spraying can raise the photosynthetic capacity of L. chuanxiong and promote the form of assimilation products.

ABSTRACT

UNLABELLEDTo study the effect of S-3307 on the yield and main ingredients of Alisma plantago-aquatica.

METHODThe contents of 24-acetyl alisol A and the 23-acetyl alisol B in tuber were determined by HPLC.

RESULTSThe contents of 24-acetyl alisol A and the 23-acetyl alisol B as well as yield were significantly increased in all groups applied with different concentrations of S-3307 comparing with control group. The optimal concentration of S-3307 was 80 mg x kg(-1). The residues of S-3307 was detected under 0.316 8 mg x kg(-1) (detecting limit).

CONCLUSIONThe optimal concentration of S-3307 is 80 mg x kg(-1), it reached the best result when applied 36 d after seedling.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVETo determine the effects of captopril on human sperm motility in vitro.

METHODSSperm specimens were aseptically obtained by masturbation and prepared by Percoll gradient-centrifugation technique to produce a spermatozoa suspension of high motility from 12 healthy fertile men. The spermatozoa suspension were incubated with captopril at 1:9 ratio of volume at 37 degrees C in vitro, which was administrated at three different concentrations. Measurements were carried out within 5 minutes for all specimens including VAP, VSL, VCL, STR, ALH and progressive motility.

RESULTSWithin 5 minutes, three different concentrations of captopril could change the human spermatozoa motility and forward motile sperm percentage, but captopril did not decrease the other motility parameters, including VSL, VCL and VAP etc. The high concentration group could decrease the VCL more than those of the other two groups and it seemed that the velocity parameters of the middle concentration group were higher than those of the other two groups, but there were no significant difference statistically.

CONCLUSIONIt suggests that captopril can decrease the human spermatozoa motility and forward motile sperm percentage, but it can not directly affect the spermatozoa velocity in vitro.
