ABSTRACT

Objective:To investigate the efficacy of atomization with budesonide, salbutamol, and acetylcysteine in the adjuvant treatment of bronchopneumonia in children.Methods:Seventy-two children with bronchopneumonia admitted to Huaiyuan Jingtu Hospital from July 2021 to June 2022 were retrospectively included in this study. These children were divided into BS and BSY groups according to different treatment methods. Based on conventional treatment, the BS group was given atomization treatment with budesonide and salbutamol, and the BSY group was given atomization treatment with budesonide, salbutamol, and acetylcysteine. After two courses of treatment, clinical efficacy, duration to improvements in symptoms and signs, adverse drug reactions, and changes in serum C-reactive protein and procalcitonin levels after treatment relative to those before treatment were compared between the two groups. The optimal medication plan was investigated. Results:The total response rate in the BSY group was 91.67% (33 cases/36 cases), which was significantly higher than 72.22% (26/36) in the BS group ( χ2 = 4.59, P = 0.032). The incidence of adverse drug reactions in the BSY group was 11.11% (4/36), which was significantly lower than 19.44% (7/36) in the BS group ( χ2 = 0.96, P = 0.326). After treatment, the levels of C-reactive protein and procalcitonin in the BSY group were (5.86 ± 5.66) mg/L and (2.59 ± 0.74) μg/L, respectively, which were lower than (15.64 ± 5.85) mg/L and (4.71 ± 0.93) μg/L in the BS group ( t = 7.20, 10.70, both P < 0.001). The durations to the disappearance of symptoms and signs including fever, cough, lung rales, and X-ray lung shadow in the BSY group were significantly shorter compared with the BS group ( t = 11.85, 4.19, 2.72, 2.39, all P < 0.05). Conclusion:Atomization with budesonide, salbutamol, and acetylcysteine in combination for the adjuvant treatment of bronchopneumonia in children can quickly relieve the clinical symptoms of children, improve the lung signs, reduce the degree of inflammation, and has a remarkable therapeutic effect on bronchopneumonia in children.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the value of parotid gland carcinoma tissue PAX2 and PAX8 expression for combined prediction of recurrence and metastasis after radical surgery. Methods Forty-six patients with parotid gland carcinoma treated by parotid gland joint neck radical operation served as the research subjects. The immunohistochemical method was applied to detect the PAX2 and PAX8 protein expression level in surgical removal parotid gland carcinoma tissues and tissues adjacent to carcinoma. Results The PAX2 and PAX8 protein positive expression rates of parotid gland carcinoma tissue were 76.09% and 69.57% respectively, which were higher than 26.09 % and 28.26 % in the tissue adjacent to carcinoma (P<0.05).The local recurrence rate in the patients with parotid gland carcinoma radical operation and 3-year follow-up was 41.30%,and lymph node metastasis rate was 34.78%.Moreover the metastasis and recurrence rate in the patients with PAX2 protein positive expressing were higher than those in the patients with PAX2 negative expression, and the metastasis and recurrence rate in the patients with PAX8 protein positive expressionwere higher than those in the patients with PAX8 negative expression (P<0.(05).The Logistic regression analysis results showed that parotid gland carcinoma tissue PAX2 and PAX8 expression levels had close correlation with the recurrence and metastasis after radical surgery were closely correlated (P<0.05).Parotid gland carcinoma tissue PAX2 and PAX8 expression levels for predicting the post-operative recurrence and metastasis had good value,in which the value of PAX2 positive and PAX8 positive expression for predicting the recurrence and metastasis was optimal. Conclusion Parotid gland carcinoma tissue PAX2 and PAX8 expression levels are closely correlated with the prognosis situation such as recurrence and metastasis after radical surgery, moreover their combined detection has better value for predicting the prognosis, which can serve as the reference indicator for the prognosisassessment after radical operation of parotid gland carcinoma.

ABSTRACT

Objective A high performance liquid chromatographic (HPLC) method was established for the simultaneous determination of xylitol and L-xylulose in fermentation broth. Methods The chromatographic conditions were as follows:C18 column (250 mm ×4.6 mm) with the temperature 35℃, acetonitrile-water (85∶15,v/v)as mobile phase with the flow rate of 0.8 mL/min.Xylitol was detected by refractive index (RI) detector at 33℃and L-xylulose was determined by ultraviolet ( UV) detector at 210 nm at room temperature. Results This method showed good linearity over the range from 0.50~30.00 g/L with a correlation coefficient of 0.9995 for xylitol and 0.30~30.00 g/L with a correlation coefficient of 0.9986 for L-xylulose. Moreover, the limit of quantification (LOQ) for xylitol and L-xylulose were 0.58 and 0.40,respectively.The limit of determination (LOD) for xylitol and L-xylulose were 0.18 and 0.15,respectively.The relative standard deviations (RSDs) of intraday and interday for xylitol were less than 0.64%and 0.80%,respectively.The intraday and interday RSDs for L-xylulose were less than 0.31%and 0.59%.The recoveries of xylitol and L-xylulose in fermentation broth were between 99.00%-101.00%.Conclusion There was no interference from other constitutes in the fermentation broth by this method. The methods were suitable for the simultaneous determination of the substrate xylitol and the product L-xylulose in fermentation process.

ABSTRACT

Objective To analyze the characters of occlusal contact in patients with severe tooth wear. Methods The characters of occlusal contact in 20 cases with severe tooth wear and 20 persons with normal occlusion were measured with T-Scan Ⅱ occlusal analysis system. Results The offset degree in quantitative analysis showed that the offset in transversal and offset distance of center of force in the group with severe tooth wear[ ( 10. 5 ± 1.5 )mm, ( 12. 0 ± 1.3 ) mm ] were larger than control group [ (4. 5 ± 0. 8 )mm,(6. 5 ±0. 8)mm]. Occlusion time in severe tooth wear group[ (0.45 ±0.07)s]was shorter than control group(o)(0.78 ±0.06)s]. Lateral disclusion time in severe tooth wear group[ ( 1. 50 ±0. 08)s, ( 1.50 ±0.10) s ] was longer than control group [ ( 0. 93 ± 0. 07 ) s, ( 0.90 ± 0.11 ) s ]. Incidence rate of lateral occlusal interference in severe tooth wear group(70%) was higher than control group( 10%) (P <0.05). Offset in vertical of center of force [ ( 4.9 ± 1.0 ) mm ], protrusive disclusion time [( 1.02 ± 0. 09 ) s ], incidence rate of premature contact and protrusive occlusal contact interference( 20% ,30% ) showed no significantly statistical difference between two groups [ (4. 7 ± 0. 6 ) mm, (0. 96 ± 0. 06 ) s, 10% , 10% ] ( P >0. 05). Conclusion There were some differences in the characters of occlusal contact in patients with severe tooth wear.
