ABSTRACT

Objective:To explore the relationship between executive dysfunction and brain functional connectivity in deaf children and its mechanisms.Methods:Twenty-eight deaf children were recruited from special education schools and twenty-seven children with normal hearing were treated as controls matched with deaf children in age, sex and education. All human subjects were scheduled to complete brain magnetic resonance scanning, based on the voxel-based morphometry (VBM) technique for detecting differences in gray matter volume (GMV) and a set of executive function (EF) tasks for detecting differences in EF behavior performance between deaf and normal hearing children. All human subjects were also performed resting-state fMRI, which were analyzed by independent component analysis (ICA) and the executive control network was selected and compared between the deaf and normal hearing children. Results:Compared with the children with normal hearing, deaf children had smaller volume of gray matter in the left angular gyrus (MIN coordinates: -48, -72, 45; 700 voxels), right superior parietal gyrus (MIN coordinates: 20, -62, 57; 594 voxels) and left middle occipital gyrus(MIN coordinates: -32, -87, 42; 782 voxels). Deaf children had weaker functional connectivity (FC) in the left middle frontal gyrus, orbital part/left inferior frontal gyrus (MIN coordinates: -24, 21, 3; 54 voxels) with normal hearing children. In the behavioral test, deaf children had defects in the switching function compared with normal children, which was statistically significant ( t(42)=2.39, P=0.02). Conclusion:The EF of deaf children has some defects, and its neural mechanism may be related with the reduced functional connectivity and gray matter volume in the brain regions related to executive function.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate therapeutic efficacy of reteplase versus alteplase in the treatment of acute myocardial infarction in China, and to provide evidence-based reference for clinical treatment. METHODS: Retrieved from Cochrane library, PubMed, Embase, Medline, CJFD, CSJD, Wanfang database by computor, etc., also by manual search, RCTs about therapeutic efficacy (recanalization rate of thrombolysis) of reteplase (trial group) versus alteplase (control group) in the treatment of acute myocardial infarction in China were collected from Jan. 1995 to Sept. 2018. After data extraction and quality evaluation with Cochrane system evaluator manual 5.1.0, Meta-analysis was performed for recanalization rate of thrombolysis by using Rev Man 5.3 software. RESULTS: A total of 23 RCTs were included, involving 1 742 patients. Results of Meta-analysis showed that recanalization rate of thrombolysis in trial group was significantly higher than control group, with statistical significance [OR=0.61,95%CI(0.50,0.73),P<0.001]. Sub-group Meta-analysis was performed according to the successful time of thrombolysis. Results of Meta-analysis showed that recanalization rate of thrombolysis in trial group 1 h [OR=0.38,95%CI(0.25,0.58),P<0.001], 1.5 h [OR=0.44,95%CI(0.25,0.79),P=0.006] and 2 h [OR=0.62,95%CI(0.42,0.92),P=0.02] after thrombolysis were significantly higher than control group, with statistical significance. CONCLUSIONS: The recanalization rate of thrombolysis by reteplase in Chinese patients with acute myocardial infarction in better than by alteplase.

ABSTRACT

Objective To systematically review the correlation between polymorphisms of CYP2D6 genotypes and concentrations of tamoxifen and its activity in Chinese breast cancer patients. Methods Such databases as Cochrane Library, PubMed, EMBase, CNKI, CBM, WeipuData and WanfangDate, from January 1995 to October 2014 were searched on line for the studies about the correlation between polymorphisms of CYP2D6 genotypes concentrations of tamoxifen and its activity in Chinese breast cancer patients. And references about it were checked. The meta-analysis was performed with RevMan 5.3 software. Results A total of 4 articles involving 438 patients were included. The results of meta-analysis showed that, the concentrations of HTAM and endoxifen in patients who had CYP2D6*10/*10 genotypes were lower than the other genotypes ( P<0.0001 ) .The concentration of tamoxifen in patients who had CYP2D6*10/*10 genotypes was lower than CYP2D6Wt/Wt ( P<0.05 ) .There was no significant difference between CYP2D6Wt/Wt and CYP2D6Wt/*10.Conclusion We concluded that CYP2D6 polymorphisms may influence concentrations of tamoxifen and its activity in Chinese breast cancer patients.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE:To explore the method and efficacy of occlusion with medicinal albumin gel for esophageal fistula. METHODS:Over the recent 5 years,a total of 11 patients with esophagus -respiratory fistula or esophagus-neck fistula confirmed by iodine imaging and / or gastroscopy were occluded with medicinal albumin gel under endoscope. RESULTS:The occlusion with medicinal albumin gel for esophageal fistula was successful in all the 11 cases, and 9 out of 11 were completely healed after one time occlusion treatment and the other 2 cases were completely healed after the second occlusion treatment. The average hospital stay was 27 days and the average cost was 24,500 yuan. There was no recurrence after follow-up of 3 to 6 months, nor was there any adverse complication. CONCLUSION:Compared to the conventional conservative treatment, occlusion with medicinal albumin gel for esophageal fistula under endoscope can reduce the length of hospital stay and the cost of hospitalization.
