ABSTRACT

Objective To observe the alteration of capillary density and apelin/APJ expression in soleus muscles of high-fat diet rats.Methods Male 5-week-old Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into a control group and a high-fat diet group.After 12 weeks of high-fat diet,16 rats were se lected and randomly divided into a sedentary group and a treadmill running group.The exercise rats underwent 60-minute treadmill running at 26 m/min 5 days a week for 10 weeks.The body weight,body fat and blood lipid level were measured for all rats.The protein expression of Soleus CD31 and apelin was determined using immunohistochemical staining,soleus apelin content was determined using the radioimmunoassay,and the mRNA expression of apelin/APJ was detected using real-time PCR.Results Compared with the control group,significant increase was observed in the body weight,body fat and the level of total triglyceride,total cholesterol and low density lipoprotein cholesterin,but significant decrease was found in the high density lipoprotein cholesterin in the high-fat diet group.There were no significant differences in the capillary density and mRNA levels of apelin/APJ between the two groups.Compared with the sedentary high-fat diet group,significant improvement was observed in the body weight and blood lipid level of the treadmill running group.Moreover,significant increase was also observed in the capillary density,the expression of apelin/APJ mRNA,as well as that of apelin protein in the treadmill running group (P<0.05).Conclusion The treadmill running can significantly increase capillary density of obese rats,as it may activate the expression of Apelin/APJ.

ABSTRACT

Aim To explore the inhibition of Sinica Maxim′s extract( CSME) on resistant infections of burn wounds,such as the methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus ( MRSA ) , resistant pseudomonas aeruginosa (RPA) and resistant escherichia coli(RECO). Meth-ods The resistant strains were cultured by MH agar plates. After resistance genes of quality control strains were extracted and appraised, such as mecA, mexB, merA, qacE△1-sull, tnpU/A and mexB, etc, and then,some projects of CSME were detected,such as the antibacterial spectrum, the minimum inhibitory con-centration(MIC), different concentrations of sensitive rate and inhibition curves, etc. Finally, these results were compared with the inhibitory effects of some anti-biotics to determine the sensitivity rates of CSME. Re-sults The MIC of CSME was 62. 5 ,125 ,250 g · L-1 respectively on the MESA, RPA and RECO. The inhi-bition rates of CSME appeared concentration-dependent on these three kinds of resistant bacteria,and the inhi-bition rates of the multi-concentration CSME on RECO were significantly lower than on MRSA and RPA ( P<0. 05). While in MIC,the resistance rates of MRSA on carbenicillin, cefazolin, erythromycin were significant-ly higher than those of CSME(P<0. 05); The inhibi-tion zones of CSME were significantly smaller than those of ceftriaxone, cefepime, imipenem, but greater than those of other antibiotics( P<0. 05 ); The inhibi-tion zones of CSME on RPA were significantly smaller than those of carbenicillin, and greater than those of other antibiotics ( P <0. 05 ) . The inhibition zones of CSME on RECO were significantly smaller than those of ceftriaxone,cefepime,imipenem,ciprofloxacin,nitro-furazone,and greater than those of other antibiotics ( P<0. 05 ) . Conclusions CSME has a significant inhi-bition on burn wound infection with these three kinds of resistant bacteria,such as MRSA,RPA and RECO. It is prompted that CSME could become one of the effective drugs to control burn wound infections with multi-re-sistant strains.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the changes and mechanisms of immune function after ischemic stroke by studying the reaction of C57BL/6mice's lung and spleen after ischemic stroke.Methods Sixteen mice C57BL/6 were randomly assigned to experiment group (n=8) and control group (n=8).The acute ischemic stroke model was established in experiment group by Middle Cerebral Artery Occlusion (MCAO) and no stroke was performed in control group.Then we observed the lung inflammation by HE staining of the lung.And we measured the spleen weight,spleen weight index,the count and the apoptosis index of spleen cells of mice in two groups.Results Compared with the control group,the count of the inflammatory cells in lung of mice in the experiment group was higher,the spleen weight,spleen weight index and spleen cells count of the experiment group were decreased and the apoptosis index of spleen cells of the experiment group was higher.Conclusion The mice in the experiment group have inflammatory reaction in lung,the spleen atrophied and the apoptosis index of spleen cells is increased,which suggest that stroke-induced apoptosis of immunocytes may cause immunodepression after ischemic stroke and easily lead to the infection.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND:Bone cement has certain toxic effects on the human body. The probability of renovation is high after bone cement total hip arthroplasty. It is reported that the long-term effect of cementless total hip arthroplasty is apparently better than bone cement total hip arthroplasty, and can be renovated conveniently. OBJECTIVE:To investigate the clinical effect of cementless total hip arthroplasty on hip joint disease, and to compare the difference between unilateral replacement and bilateral replacement. METHODS: Clinical and folow-up data of 233 patients (280 hips), who were treated with cementless total hip arthroplasty in the Department of Orthopedics, Wuzhou Worker’s Hospital, Seventh Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University from July 2007 to December 2013, were retrospectively analyzed. According to the replacement program, they were divided into unilateral replacement group (n=186) and bilateral replacement group (n=47). Harris score of hip joint, visual analog scale score of thigh pain, the excelent and good rate of hip joint during final folow-up and complications were compared between the two groups before replacement, at 6, 12 and 24 months after replacement. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:No significant difference in Harris scores was detected before replacement, at 6, 12 and 24 months after replacement (P > 0.05). Harris score was significantly higher at 6, 12 and 24 months after replacement compared with that before replacement in both groups (P 0.05). No significant difference in the visual analog scale score was seen before replacement, at 6, 12 and 24 months after replacement (P > 0.05). Visual analog scale scores were significantly lower at 6, 12 and 24 months after replacement than that before replacement in the two groups (P 0.05). These findings confirm that the effects of cementless total hip arthroplasty for hip joint disease are evident, can effectively restore hip joint function. No significant difference was detected between unilateral replacement and bilateral replacement. Strict replacement operation and matching of prosthesis and medulary cavity can effectively reduce thigh pain after replacement.

ABSTRACT

The present study was designed to explore the flavonoid contents and the radical scavenging activities of 50% ethanol extracts of leaves, stems, rachis and roots ofDryopteris erythrosora. The total flavonoid contents in various parts were determined as: stems > roots > rachis > leaves. All extracts from different parts of D. erythrosora showed strong bioactivities. The DPPH free radical scavenging abilities of extracts were determined as: stems > root > rachis " leaves. This trend is reciprocal proportion to the total flavonoid contents in leaves, stems, rachis and roots of D. erythrosora extracts. The superoxide anion scavenging abilities of ethanol extracts were determined as: stems > leaves > rachis > root. It illustrated that there are strong superoxide anion scavengers in D. erythrosora. It is worth to separate and identify these components in future

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the immunization effect of influenza A/H1N1 vaccine in health care workers (HCW) in Inner Mongolia Greater Khingan Mountains area. Methods Five hundred and five HCW who received A/H1N1 influenza vaccination (immunized group) and 129 staffs who didn't receive the vaccination (unimmunized group) were randomly sampled for semiquantitative testing of serum H1N1 antibody (IgG) levels by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).Results were analyzed and stratified by age, sex, occupation and the time interval between the time of vaccination and serum sample collection. The antibody positive rates of the two groups were compared by x2test. Results There were 401 (79. 4%) HCW whose H1N1 antibody were positive and 50 (9.9%) whose antibody were weak positive among 505 immunized HCW. While among 129 unimmunized HCW, there were 59 (45.7%) whose antibody were positive and 15 (11.6%) whose antibody were weak positive. The seroconversion rates of specific antibody were not significantly different among the different age groups after receiving A/H1N1 influenza vaccine (P> 0.05).However, there were statistical differences of the seroconversion rates among different sex groups (men 95.7% vs women 87.4% in immunized group, x2=6.40, P<0.05; and men 73.3% vs women 52.5% in unimmunized group, x2 =4.07, P<0.05) and different occupation groups (doctor 86.0% vs nurse 94.5% in immunized group, x2 = 9. 16, P<0.01; and doctor 43. 8% vs nurse 75.0% in unimmunized group, x2=12.61, P<0.01 ). The seroconversion rate was 81.5% after 80 to 89 days of vaccination, which was significantly lower than those after 30 to 39, 50 to 59 days and 60 to 69 days of vaccination, which was 100.0%, 94.7% and 93.6%, respectively (x2 =3.96, P <0.05; x2=7.15, P <0. 01; x2 = 9. 98, P<0. 01). Conclusions A/H1N1 influenza vaccination can induce effective immune response in HCW in Greater Khingan Mountains area of Inner Mongolia. However,the level of specific antibody significantly reduces after 80 to 89 days of vaccination.

In the following article, I first analyzed the concept of Question? Secondly , based on the traditional standpoint of Theory of Truth and the viewpoints of some scholars, what was true question was discussed. Finally I made a primary analysis of true question.
