ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the differences of efficacy and economic efficiency between neuroendoscope and microscope for intracerebral hematomas cleaning operation. Methods From August 2014 to August 2015, clinical data of 68 cases with intracerebral hemorrhage were analyzed retrospectively. Hematoma evacuation was carried out by microscope in 37 cases (microscope group) received and 31 cases (endoscope group) underwent neuroendoscope. Following parameters were compared: the operation related index (hematoma clearance rate , intraoperative blood loss , the operation time , skin incision , bone window size ) , Glasgow Outcome Scale at 6 months after the operation, complications (intracranial infection, lung infections, gastrointestinal bleeding), medical economic parameters (the postoperative hospital stay, drug cost, cost other than drug, and total hospital cost). Results The hematoma clearance rate, Glasgow Outcome Scale at 6 months after the operation in the endoscope group were significantly better than those in the microscope group (P 0.05). The postoperative hospital stay, drug costs , no drug costs , and total hospital cost were significantly less in neuroendoscope group than that in microscope group (P< 0.01). Conclusion Neuroendoscopy has less trauma, there are some advantages of neuroendoscopy for intracerebral hematomas cleaning operation , such as minimal trauma , prominent effect , good prognosis and low cost. It should be widely applied in clinical practice.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND:The mechanical strength of nerve conduits made by chitosan is poor and easy to col apse, which is not conducive to the nerve regeneration. OBJECTIVE:To explore the feasibility of chitosan/polylactic acid complex in the repair of peripheral nerve defects in rats. METHODS:Thirty Sprague-Dawley rats were enrol ed to establish models of unilateral sciatic nerve defects, and then randomly divided into three groups:autologous nerve, silicone catheter and chitosan/polylactic acid complex were used for defect repair in the three groups, respectively. At 12 weeks after operation, appearance of bridged nerves, surface adhesion, formation of neuroma were observed;nerve conduction velocity, action potential amplitude and latent period were determined;hematoxylin-eosin staining was performed to observe the number of regenerated axons and area of regenerated nerves;wet weight of the complete triceps surae was measured. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:At 12 weeks after repair, the regenerated nerves in the three groups al passed through the 5 mm nerve defect gaps, and neuroma only formed in the silicone catheter group. The diameter of regenerated nerves in the three groups was ranked as fol ows:autologous nerve group>chitosan/polylactic acid group>silicone catheter group (P<0.05). High-density regenerated axons neatly arranged in the autologous nerve and chitosan/polylactic acid groups, and the number of regenerated axons was higher than that in the silicone catheter group (P<0.05). Moreover, the nerve conduction velocity, action potential amplitude and wet weight of the complete triceps surae were significantly higher in the autologous nerve and chitosan/polylactic acid groups than in the silicone catheter group (P<0.05), but the latent period was lower than that in the silicone catheter group (P<0.05). These findings indicate that the chitosan/polylactic acid conduits can promote peripheral nerve regeneration.

ABSTRACT

A simple and rapid assay for the detection of Classical swine fever virus(CSFV)was established using reverse transcription loop-mediated isothermal amplification(RT-LAMP).This study describes the amplification of the genomic RNA of CSFV under isothermal conditions(63℃)within one hour, using a set of six primers(two outer primers, two inner primers and two loop primers). This RT-LAMP assay showed 100-fold higher sensitivity than the standard RT-PCR method and identified eighteen additional positive cases that were negative when tested by RT-PCR.This RT-LAMP was able to detect all the 13 strains of CSFV but not the BVDV.PRRSV.SIV.PRV-PCV,thus showed a good specificity.Products amplified by RT-LAMP can be visualized by agarose gel electrophoresis and in addition, either as a white precipitate at the bottom of the tube after a pulse spin or as a color change when dyed with SYBR Green I which are visible to the naked eye.Because RT-LAMP is low-cost and produces rapid results,it has the potential to be an excellent tool for CSFV surveillance in the field, especially in developing countries.
