ABSTRACT

The authors report ten cases of popliteal artery injuries. In all cases a restorer surgery was performed, with the except of one case where an amputation was carried out straight off because of a shattering traumatism of the knee. Despite this restorer surgery the amputation rate is high, thus confirming the repute that the popliteal artery is a "bad artery"
