ABSTRACT
Anesthesia by block of the brachial plexus by the axillary way [BBPAW] is a referential technique used in a great number of surgical operations of the upper limb. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the quality of [BBPAW] by neurostimulation in our daily practice. Material and methds: A prospective study done over a period of 12 months has been canducted at the plastic reconstructive surgery and traumato-orthopedic departements, including eighty five patients divided into groups: group U [urgent surgery] and group P [programmed surgery]. The delay of installation, duration of action and quality of anaesthesia have been comparatively evaluated depending on the character of operation [Urgent or programmed]. The two groups were comparable with the demographic data, where as the delay of instalation was longer in the urgent cases. Failure rate was more in urgent surgery.
