ABSTRACT

@#A novel allicin pro-drug tablet containing antacid pellets was developed to realize pH-regulated allicin release and to guarantee allicin yield in stomach environment.Firstly, allicin precursor pellets containing antacid pellet were prepared and artificial gastric juice was used as the medium to determine the yield of the allicin. Then, the total lipid cholesterol (TC), triglyceride cholesterol (TG), high density lipoprotein (HDL-C) and low-density lipoprotein (LDL-C) were used as indicators to study the hypolipidemic effect of allicin precursor pellets in rats. The dissolution test showed that in artificial gastric juice, the yield of allicin-containing antacid pellets exceeded 90%.In pharmacodynamic studies, it was found that antacid pellets showed the expected hypolipidemic effect on hyperlipidemia rats compared without antacid pellets. There was a very significant difference in blood lipid levels between the two test groups (P < 0.05).The allicin pro-drug tablets containing antacid pellets can effectively lower blood lipids.

ABSTRACT

Objective To observe the correlation between vitamin D and liver cirrhosis classification in hepatic diabetes. Methods Thirty-eight patients with hepatic diabetes,48 patients with type 2 diabetes and 30 cases of healthy controls were collected. The level of serum 25-(OH)D3 was determined, and the Child-Pugh score was calculated. The correlation between pathogenesis and pathogenetic condition of hepatic diabetes was analyzed. Results The levels of serum 25-(OH)D3 in hepatic diabetes patients, type 2 diabetes patients and healthy controls were (38.23 ± 12.47),(63.33 ± 13.58) and (86.14 ± 16.25) μ mol/L,and there was statistical difference (P < 0.05).There was negative correlation in hepatic diabetes between serum 25-(OH)D3 level and liver cirrhosis Child-Pugh score (r =-0.363,P < 0.05).Conclusion Low level of vitamin D may be one of the pathogenesis of hepatic diabetes.

ABSTRACT

Objective To observe the role of mulberry flavone on the expression of insulin receptor substrate(IRS)in HepG2 cells with insulin resistance, and to explore the possible molecular mechanism that mulberry flavone improves insulin resistance. Methods HepG2 cells were cultured to establish insulin-resistance cell model in high concentration of insulin, and then incubated with mulberry flavone. Effect of mulberry flavone on the HepG2 cell model of glucose incorporation rate was observed. Western blot was used to observe the variety of IRS protein expression. Results Mulberry flavone increased the glucose incorporation rate of (33. 9 ± 1.0)higher than that of Conclusions Mulberry flavone can improve insulin resistance. Furthermore, IRS protein expression increasing is the possible molecular mechanism that mulberry flavone improves insulin resistance.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the effects of low frequency pulsed magnetic fields (LF-PMFs) on proliferation, the cell cycle, apoptosis, migration, cytoskeleton formation and nitric oxide (NO) secretion in cardiac microvascular endothelial cells (CMECs). Methods LF-PMFs with rectangular and triangular waveforms at 15 Hz were tested. The CMECs were randomly divided into a control group, 0.6 mT group, 1.2 mT group, 1.8 mT group and 2.4 mT group. Except for the control group, the CMECs were exposed to LF-PMFs 4 h/day for 5 days. Results After 5 days of intervention with rectangular wave LF-PMFs the proliferation of CMECs accelerated and NO secretion was enhanced significantly. The percentages of cells at ( S+G2 ) phase increased significantly, whereas apoptosis rates were significantly lower than in the control group. The migration of CMECs was facilitated, stress fibers increased and cytoskeleton components were reorganized. After 5 days of intervention with triangular wave LF-PMFs proliferation of CMECs accelerated and NO secretion was significantly enhanced. The percentages of cells at(S+G2)phase and migration increased, while apoptosis was inhibited. Cytoskeleton components were reorganized after exposure to 0.6 mT and 2.4 mT triangular waveform LF-PMFs. No significant change was detected with 1.2 mT and 1.8 mT triangular waveform LF-PMFs with regard to these variables. Conclusions The effects of LF-PMFs on proliferation, the cell cycle, apoptosis, migration, cytoskeleton formation and NO secretion function of CMECs were infiuenced by the waveform in addition to it's intensity and frequency.
