ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE@#To observe the clinical effects on polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) of abdominal obesity treated with the dialing needling technique at the abdomen.@*METHODS@#A total of 33 patients of PCOS of abdominal obesity were treated with the dialing needling method. The reinforcing technique was applied to Zhongwan (CV 12), Qihai (CV 6), Guanyuan (CV 4) and Zhongji (CV 3) and the reducing technique was applied to Huaroumen (ST 24), Tianshu (ST 25), Shuifen (CV9), Luanchaoxue (Extra), Huangshu (KI 16) and Daimai (GB 26). The electric stimulation was added at Huaroumen (ST 24), Tianshu (ST 25) and bilateral Daimai (GB 26). The treatment was given once every two days, three times a week. The treatment was discontinued during the menstruation, 10 treatments made one course. Totally, 6 courses of treatment were provided. The body mass index (BMI) and the ovarian volume were observed before and after treatment. The levels of serum fasting insulin (FINS), fasting blood glucose (FBG), serum follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH), testosterone (T) and prolactin (PRL) were determined before and after treatment.@*RESULTS@#As compared with those before treatment, BMI was reduced obviously (0.05).@*CONCLUSION@#The dialing needling method reduces the body mass and ovarian volume in the patients of PCOS of abdominal obesity type. The effect mechanism is relevant with the reducing of FNS, LH and T.

ABSTRACT

Solid dispersions (SD) as a preparation of intermediates have played an important role in improving the dissolution of insoluble drugs and its bioavailability.SD technique is one of the most promising techniques to improve the dissolution and solubility of insoluble drugs, and the development of SD technique will promote the gradual perfection in preparative field. This review focuses on the carrier materials of SD,various new preparation techniques and their comparisons, application of solid dispersion formulations, and stability problems of SD.The factors influencing the stability of SD are described, and the effective measures to prevent the aging of SD are put forward. Finally, the review puts forward the practical suggestions of the solid dispersion technique.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate whether inhibiting the expression of typeⅠ collagen gene is one of the mechanisms of action of electroacupuncture in improving knee osteoarthritis. Methods Forty male adult SD rats were randomized into normal, model, medication and electroacupuncture group, 10 rats each. A rat model of MIA-induced knee osteoarthritis was made by injecting monomer sodium iodoacetate (MIA) and driving rat movement. After model making, the medication group received an oral gavage of celecoxib dissolved in 10% DMSO and the electroacupuncture group, electroacupuncture at points Zusanli and Yanglingquan. Pain thresholds and the levels of cartilage expression of typeⅠ collagen mRNA were compared between various groups of rats before and after treatment. Results There was a statistically significant difference in pain threshold between the model, medication or electroacupuncture group of rats and the normal group after model making (P0.05). There was a statistically significant difference in the expression of typeⅠ collagen mRNA between the model, medication or electroacupuncture group of rats and the normal group (P0.05).Conclusion The mechanisms of actions of electroacupuncture and medication in treating knee osteoarthritis may be related to inhibiting the expression of typeⅠ collagen mRNA.
