ABSTRACT

A new method for chiral separation and purity inspection of landiolol hydrochloride and its stereoisomers was developed by ultra-performance convergence chromatography ( UPC2 ) . The mobile phase was the mixture of supercritical CO2 and methanol/n-butyl alcohol/acetonitrile (1:1:1, V/V) plus 0. 5%NH3?H2O. The separation was carried out on the Daicel CHIRALPAK? IF column (150 mm × 4. 6 mm, 3 μm) with a flow rate of 2. 8 mL/min at 50℃ using 223 nm as detection wavelength. Under the optimized experimental conditions, for R,R-stereoisomer, R,S-stereoisomer and S,R-stereoisomer, the detection limits (LOD, S/N=3) were 0. 3, 0. 4 and 0. 3 mg/L, the linear ranges were 2-300 mg/L, 5-300 mg/L and 2-300 mg/L, the recoveries of spike samples were 103. 4%±2. 5%, 91. 8%±2. 5% and 101. 7%±1. 5%, and the injection repeatabilities were 0. 06%, 0. 09% and 0. 08% (n=6), respectively. The experimental results demonstrate that the UPC2-based method can be used for the analysis and determination of landiolol hydrochloride and its stereoisomers.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVEThis study aimed to evaluate the success and survival rate of endodontically treated premolars restored by ceramic onlays by comparing restored by quartz fiber posts and metal ceramic crowns.

METHODSNinety-four patients with 126 endodontically treated premolars were enrolled in this study and divided into 4 groups according to the remaining axial walls and restorative methods. The observation time was 36 months. The success and survival rates of the restorations, as well as causes of failures, were analyzed.

RESULTSAt the final follow-up, the success and survival rates of the mild defect endodontically treated premolars were restored by quartz fiber posts and the crowns were at 96.3% and 98.1%; the success and survival rates of the severe defect premolars restored by quartz fiber posts and crowns were at 88.5% and 96.2%. The success and survival rates of the mild defect premolars restored by cast ceramic onlays were both at 96.6%, the success and survival rates of the severe defect premolars restored by cast ceramic onlays were at 94.1% and 100%, respectively. The success and survival rates of the different groups were no significant difference (P>0.05).

CONCLUSIONBased on the results and within the limits of this study, cast ceramic onlays is a very reliable method to restore endodontically treated premolars.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To observe the effect of “bulk-fill”flowable resin in filling deep wedge-shaped defects.Methods:50 pa-tients with totally 85 pairs of premolars with deep wedge-shaped defects(depth >2 mm)were included. Each pair of the defects was randomly divided into the test group and the control group, the defects were treated by “bulk-fill”flowable resin with single cure tech-nique and conventional flowable resin with incremental layering technique respectively, the tooth sensitive rate 1 week after filling, the filling failure rate, the edge coloring and secondary caries rate 2 years after filling of the 2 groups were compared. Results:There was no significant difference between the 2 groups in the sensitive rate 1 week after filling, the failure rate and the edge coloring and sec-ondary caries rate 2 years after filling(P >0.05).Conclusion:The “bulk-filled”flowable resin using single cure technique can ac-quire the same clinical effect as conventional flowable resin using incremental layering technique in filling deep wedge-shaped defects.

ABSTRACT

The research and quality control of traditional Chinese medicine has meaningful importance, because it has influence not only in the health and treatment of patients, but also in the solid growth and development of phar-maceuticals companies. In some cases, for the complex of TCM, the common QC method on single or multi-target compounds can't really and truly disclose the quality of the Chinese materia medica. Therefore, a lot of researchers do plenty of works to make clear the effectiveness basis, to improve the quality and realize the modernization of TCM. All of these works close together with modern analysis and separation technology. In this article, a novel analy-sis technology-UltraPerformance Convergence Chromatography (UPC2) based its characters and applications should be introduced. It should be a helpful technology for the TCM researchers to facilitate the study and QC works.

ABSTRACT

The concept of biochip is originated in 1980s, it can also be called micro-array technology. Biochip is a new and sophisticated technique developed by bio-science and micro-electronics. The birth of biochip technique is a great revolution in modern biology area. Nowadays, the biochip technique has been widely used in many fields, eg, spectrum analysis of gene expression, diagnosis of diseases, drug selection, tumor markers, detection of manifold kinds of viruses, etc. Based on its several characteristics such as high efficiency, sensitivity, economy, parallel, automation, gene-chip technique will be a novel modern diagnosis technique. In this article, the usages of biochip technique in preventive medicine fields including environmental health, virus detection, occupational hygiene, nutrition and food hygiene, were discussed.
