Role of anions on biologically active complexes of Cobalt [II] and Nickel [II] with pyrimidine-derived Schiff bases

Biologically active complexes cobalt and nickel with pyrimidine - derived Shiff bases having the same metal atom but different anions such as chloride, sulphate, nitrate, oxalate and acetate have been synthesized. In order to evaluate the effect of anions on their bioability, they have been screened against bacterial species Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Klebsiella pneumoniae

Role of metal ions on the bactericidal properties of sulfonamide drugs Bactrim and Primox

Cobalt [II], copper [II], nickel [II] and zinc [II] metal complexes of sulfonamide drugs bactrim and primox have been synthesised. The pharmacological assay show that the metal atoms enhance the activity and potency of these drugs against a number of bacterial species such as streptococcus pneumoniae, staphylococcus aureus. escherichia coli, klebsiella pneumoniae and proteus vulgaris
