ABSTRACT
Cancer of the uterine cervix is a common gynecologic malignancy worldwide.Given its great efficacy, chemoradiotherapy is recommended as a primary or an adjuvant treatment for patients with advanced cervical cancer.Recently, new techniques and con-cepts have emerged, such as intensity-modulated radiotherapy, organ motion in treatment,image-guided 3D brachytherapy, and recur-rence and survival prediction by positron-emission tomography/computed tomography. These techniques increase the accuracy of the treatment, significantly reduce the normal organ dose and the incidence of severe complications, and improve judgment for progno-sis.This review basically summarizes the progress of radiotherapy to guide the clinical work on the treatment of cervical cancer.
