ABSTRACT

Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of endoscopic full-thickness resection assisted by dental floss traction in treatment of gastric submucosal tumors. Methods Those patients with gastric submucosal tumors from January 2016 to September 2016 were enrolled in the study. All patients were treated with endoscopic full-thickness resection assisted by dental floss traction. The en bloc resection rate, procedure time were analyzed. Complications such as bleeding and perforation were observed in the procedures. All patients were followed up 3-6 months for evaluation of efficacy and safety. Results 96 patients were recruited into the study. The average surgery time of 26.7 min (20 ~ 55 min), the success rate and the en bloc resection rate was 100.0%. The average tumors sizes was 1.2 cm (0.8 ~ 2.5 cm). The intraoperative bleeding occurred in 1 patient, the incidence rate of bleeding was 1.0% (1/96). The tumors were located cardia in 13 patients (13.5%), gastric fundus in 46 patients (47.9%), in gastric body in 33 patients (34.3%), in antrum in 2 patients (2.1%), in gastric angle in 2 patients (2.1%). Pathological results of interstitial tumor in 62 patients (64.6%), leiomyoma in 31 patients (32.3%), calcifying fibroma in 1 patients (1.0%), ectopic pancreas in 2 patients (2.1%). The median hospital stay was 4 days (3 ~ 7 d). No complications such as fever, abdominal pain were found during during the follow-up of 3 ~ 6 months. Conclusion Endoscopic full-thickness resection assisted by dental floss traction in treatment gastric submucosal tumors is effective and safe.

ABSTRACT

Sixteen compounds have been isolated from the EtOAc fraction of 95% ethanolic extract of Sophora dunnii through silica gel, Sephadex LH-20 and semi-prerarative HPLC column chromatographies. Their structures were identified on the basis of NMR and MS spectra data as phaseollidin (1), L-maackiain (2), 2-(2',4'-dihidroxyphenyl)-5,6-methylenedioxy benzofuran (3), 8-demethyl-farrerol (4), liquiritigenin (5), genistein (6), 6-methylgenistein (7), 5-O-methyl genistein (8), 7,2',4'-trihydroxys-5-methoxy-isoflavanone (9), 7, 3', 4'-trihydroxy-isoflavanone (10), erythribyssin D (11), calycosin (12), trans-resveratrol (13), cis-resveratrol (14), stigmasterol (15), β-sitosterol (16). Among these, compounds 1-14 and 16 were isolated from this plant for the first time.

ABSTRACT

Retroperitoneal laparoscopic live donor nephrectomy offers an intrinsic advantage over conventional transperitoneal laparoscopic nephrectomy because of the potentially lower risk for early and late donor intraperitoneal complications.Herein we presented our experience performing retroperitoneal laparoscopic live donor nephrectomy in 105 donors. All donor nephrectomy was successful. There were no donor deaths and no conversion to open surgery.Mean operation time was 112 min (range,70—200 min).Intraoperative blood loss was 10—150 mL with an average of 30 mL.Warm ischemia time was 1.3 to 6 min with an average of 3.1 min.Postoperative retroperitoneal hematoma occurred in only one case and there were no other surgical complications.Donors were discharged from the hospital 5 to 10 days postoperation.Average postoperative hospital stay was 6.4 days. One graft was removed due to acute rejection.Delayed graft function occurred in two recipients but renal function returned to normal within four weeks. The other recipients had normal renal function in two weeks except three recipients in four weeks. We believe that retroperitoneal laparoscopic live donor nephrectomy is safe, reliable, and less invasive.

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To observe the different effects of electroacupuncture of different frequencies for treatment of patients with refractory tennis elbow syndrome.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>Eighty five patients with refractory tennis elbow syndrome were randomly devided into continuous wave group (n=41) and rarefaction wave group (n= 44). The same acupoints were selected in both groups, and the major acupoints were the tenderness point around affected area in both groups. The Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) was used to evaluate the tenderness score of each patient in both groups. The effectiveness was evaluated by the tenderness score.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>The effective rate was 82. 9% in continuous wave group, and 84. 1% in rarefaction wave group, with no significant difference in statistical analysis (P>0.05). The healing rate was 56. 8% in rarefaction wave group, better than 31. 7% in continuous wave group (P<0.05). The VAS scores were significantly reduced after electroacupuncture treatment in both groups (both P<0.001). There was significant difference in decreasing the VAS score between two groups after treatment (P<0.05), and the rarefaction wave group was better than the continuous wave group.</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>The electroacupuncture of rarefaction wave is better than the electroacupuncture of continuous wave, therefore, it is a better treatment for refractory tennis elbow syndrome.</p>
