ABSTRACT

ObjectiveTo investigate the situation and development trend of the disease burden of acute hepatitis B in China in 1990 — 2019. MethodsThe Global Burden of Disease 2019 was used to analyze the incidence rate, mortality rate, and disability-adjusted life year (DALY) rate of acute hepatitis B in different sex and age groups and predict the trend of the incidence rate of acute hepatitis B. ResultsIn 2019, the incidence rate, mortality rate, and DALY rate of acute hepatitis B in China were 1 623.71/100 000, 0.20/100 000, and 10.04/100 000 respectively, which were reduced by 42.03%, 79.38%, and 80.21%, respectively, compared with the data in 1990, and women showed lower incidence rate, mortality rate, and DALY rate of acute hepatitis B than men. In 2019, the 20~<54 years group had the highest incidence rate (2 285.85/100 000) and DALY rate (10.53/100 000), and the ≥55 years group had the highest mortality rate of 0.52/100 000. The Joinpoint regression model analysis showed that the incidence rate, mortality rate, and DALY rate of acute hepatitis B in China tended to decrease from 1990 to 2019, with an average annual percent change of -1.9%, -5.2%, and -5.5%, respectively (P<0.05). The grey prediction model GM (1,1) showed that the incidence rate of acute hepatitis B will decrease from 2020 to 2030 in China. ConclusionThe disease burden of acute hepatitis B tended to decrease from 1990 to 2019 in China, indicating that the prevention and treatment measures for acute hepatitis B have achieved a marked effect in China; however, due to the large population base of China, active preventive measures should be further adopted to reduce the disease burden of acute hepatitis B.

ABSTRACT

With the advent of precision medicine, next-generation sequencing (NGS) is playing an increasingly important role in clinical oncology diagnosis and treatment with its advantages of high sensitivity, high accuracy, high efficiency and operability. NGS reveals the genetic characteristics of acute leukemia(AL) patients by screening for specific disease-causing genes to identify occult as well as complex genetic mutations in patients with AL, leading to early diagnosis and targeted drug therapy for AL patients, as well as to predict disease recurrence by detecting mnimal residual disease (MRD) and analyzing mutated genes to determine patient prognosis. NGS plays an increasingly important role in the diagnosis, treatment and prognosis assessment in AL, providing a direction for the pursuit of precision medicine. This paper reviews the research progress of NGS in AL.

ABSTRACT

At present, comprehensive treatment dominated by surgical procedures is an important measure for colon cancer to obtain the chance of cure. Surgical intervention, while removing the tumor, carries the risk of postoperative gastroparesis (PG) . Because of the low incidence rate and insignificant early clinical symptoms, early stage PG is often overlooked clinically. However, PG can increase the risk of malnutrition, delay postoperative antitumor treatment, and increase the risk of tumor recurrence and metastasis. This review focuses on the mechanisms, clinical risk factors, preventive measures, and advances in treatment of PG due to colon cancer. Aim to increase the clinician's adequate attention to PG in colon cancer and from a surgical point to reduce the risk of gastroparesis in colon cancer by optimizing the surgical strategy.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE@#To investigate the effect of 275 nm and 310 nm ultraviolet irradiation on ovariectomized rats' bone metabolism.@*METHODS@#Twenty four 3-month-old female Sprague-Dawley (SD) rat were randomly divided into control group, sham operated group, 275 nm ultraviolet (UV) irradiation group and 310 nm UV irradiation group. Each group contained 6 rats. The rats in the two irradiation groups were treated with bilateral ovariectomy. The rats in sham operated group received sham operation (They were given the same back incision and a bit of par-ovarian fat were removed). Control group received no disposition. About 24 weeks after operation, all the rats received detailed bone mineral density (BMD) detection again. Detection regions include cervical vertebra, lumbar vertebra, proximal femur, mid femur and distal femur. Next, osteopenia rats in 275 nm irradiation group were UV irradiated 275 nm with fixed illumination intensity (15 μW/cm2) everyday for 16 weeks. The osteopenia rats in 310 nm irradiation group were UV irradiated 310 nm with fixed illumination intensity (15 μW/cm2) everyday for 16 weeks. The backs of the rats were shaved regularly as irradiation area (6 cm×8 cm). After 16-week irradiation, all the rats' BMD of cervical vertebra, lumbar vertebra, proximal femur, mid femur and distal femur were measured. At the end of the trial, all the rats' blood specimens were obtained and serum 25(OH)D, procollagen type Ⅰ N-peptide (PINP) and osteocalcin (OC) were measured.@*RESULTS@#Compared with control group [(238.78±26.74) mg/cm3], the BMD of the whole body were significantly lower in 275 nm [(193.34±13.28) mg/cm3] and 310 nm [(191.19±18.48) mg/cm3] irradiation groups (P=0.002, P=0.001). There were no significant difference between sham operated group [(227.20±14.32) mg/cm3] and control group. After 16-week ultraviolet irradiation, the BMD of the whole body were significantly increased in 275 nm [(193.34±13.28) mg/cm3 vs. (221.68±25.52) mg/cm3, P=0.005] and 310 nm groups [(191.19±18.48) mg/cm3 vs. (267.48±20.54) mg/cm3, P < 0.001] after corresponding irradiation. The BMD of the four body regions (lumbar vertebra, proximal femur, mid femur and distal femur) had significantly increased after irradiation in 275 nm irradiation group. For 310 nm irradiation group, the BMD in cervical vertebra, lumbar vertebra, proximal femur, mid femur and distal femur also had increased significantly after 310 nm ultraviolet irradiation. The concentration of serum 25(OH)D and OC was higher in 275 nm irradiation group than in control group [(46.78±5.59) μg/L vs. (21.32±6.65) μg/L, P=0.002;(2.05±0.53) U/L vs. (1.32±0.07) U/L, P=0.022]. Compared with the control, the concentration of serum 25(OH)D [(58.05±12.74) μg/L], OC [(2.04±0.53) U/L] and PINP [(176.16±24.18) U/L] was significantly higher (P < 0.001, P=0.015, P=0.005) in 310 nm irradiation group. However, there were no significantly difference between sham operated group and the control.@*CONCLUSION@#Both 275 nm and 310 nm ultraviolet could improve rats' vitamin D synthesis. Both 275 nm and 310 nm ultraviolet could improve osteopenia rats' bone condition. The irradiation of 310 nm might be more effective on bone condition improvement.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To investigate the factors affecting the success of conversion therapy in patients with initially unresectable colorectal cancer liver metastases (CRLM) in order to provide evidence-based medical evidence for formulating individualized treatment strategies for patients. Methods: A retrospective case-control study was used in this study. Clinical data of 232 patients with initially unresectable CRLM receiving first-line systemic treatment in Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center from January 2013 to January 2020 were collected, including 98 patients of successful conversion and 134 patients of failed conversion as control. Conversion therapy scheme: 38 patients received FOLFOXIRI regimen chemotherapy (irinotecan, oxaliplatin, calcium folinate and fluorouracil), 152 patients received FOLFOX regimen (oxaliplatin, calcium folinate and fluorouracil), 19 patients received FOLRIRI regimen (irinotecan, calcium folinate and fluorouracil), 23 patients received systemic chemotherapy combined with fluorouridine hepatic artery infusion chemotherapy; 168 patients received targeted therapy, including 68 of bevacizumab and 100 of cetuximab. Logistics analysis was used to compare the factors affecting the success of conversion therapy. The Kaplan-Meier method was used to calculate progression-free survival (PFS), and the Log-rank test was used for survival comparison. Results: Among 232 patients, 98 patients had successful conversions and 134 patients had failed conversions with a successful conversion rate of 42.2%, meanwhile 30 patients underwent simple hepatectomy and 68 underwent hepatectomy combined with intraoperative radiofrequency ablation. After first-line chemotherapy, 111 patients (47.8%) were partial remission, 57 patients (24.6%) were stable disease, and 64 patients (27.6%) were progression disease. During the median follow-up of 18.8 (1.0-87.9) months, 148 patients were dead or with tumor progression. The median PFS time of patients with successful conversion was longer than that of patients with failed conversion (31.0 months vs. 9.9 months, P<0.001). Univariate analysis found that the bilobar distribution of liver tumors (P=0.003), elevated baseline carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) levels (P=0.024), tumor invasion of the portal vein (P=0.001), number of metastatic tumor>8 (P<0.001), non-FOLFOXIRI (P=0.005), and no targeted therapy (P=0.038) were high risk factors for the failed conversion therapy. The results of multivariate logistics analysis indicated that the number of metastatic tumor >8 (OR=2.422, 95%CI: 1.291-4.544, P=0.006), portal vein invasion (OR=2.727, 95%CI: 1.237-4.170, P=0.008) were the independent risk factors for failed conversion therapy, while FOLFOXIRI regimen (OR=0.300, 95%CI: 0.135-0.666, P=0.003) and targeted drugs (OR=0.411, 95%CI: 0.209-0.809, P=0.010) were independent protective factors for successful conversion therapy. Conclusions: The number of metastatic tumor and portal vein invasion are key factors that affect the outcomes of conversion therapy for initially unresectable CRLM. If a patient can tolerate chemotherapy, a combination program of three-drug and targeted therapy is preferred for the active conversion therapy.

ABSTRACT

Objective: Comparative analyses of wild-type Clostridioides difficile 630 (Cd630) strain and pathogenicity locus (PaLoc) knockout mutant (ΔPaLoc) by using RNA-seq technology. Analysis of differential expression of Cd630 wild-type strain and ΔPaLoc mutant strain and measurement of its cellular virulence changes. Lay the foundation for the construction of an toxin-attenuated vaccine strain against Clostridioides difficile. Methods: Analysis of Cd630 and ΔPaLoc mutant strains using high-throughput sequencing (RNA-seq). Clustering differentially expressed genes and screening differentially expressed genes by DESeq software. Further analysis of differential genes using Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) enrichment. Finally, cytotoxicity assays of ΔPaLoc and Cd630 strains were performed in the African monkey kidney epithelial cell (Vero) and the human colonic cell (Caco-2) lines. Results: The transcriptome data showed that the ΔPaLoc mutant toxin genes tcdA and tcdB were not transcribed. Compared to the wild-type strain, CD630_36010, CD630_020910,CD630_02080 and cel genes upregulated 17.92,11.40,8.93 and 7.55 fold, respectively. Whereas the hom2 (high serine dehydrogenase), the CD630_15810 (spore-forming protein), CD630_23230 (zinc-binding dehydrogenase) and CD630_23240 (galactitol 1-phosphate 5-dehydrogenase) genes were down-regulated by 0.06, 0.075, 0.133 and 0.183 fold, respectively. The GO and KEGG enrichment analyses showed that the differentially transcribed genes in ΔPaLoc were enriched in the density-sensing system, ABC transport system, two-component system, phosphotransferase (PTS) system, and sugar metabolism pathway, as well as vancomycin resistance-related pathways. Cytotoxicity assays showed that the ΔPaLoc mutant strain lost its virulence to Vero and Caco-2 cells compared to the wild-type Cd630 strain. Conclusion: Transcriptional sequencing analysis of the Cd630 and ΔPaLoc mutant strains showed that the toxin genes were not transcribed. Those other differential genes could provide a reference for further studies on the physiological and biochemical properties of the ΔPaLoc mutant strain. Cytotoxicity assays confirmed that the ΔPaLoc mutant lost virulence to Vero and Caco-2 cells, thus laying the foundation for constructing an toxin-attenuated vaccine strain against C. difficile.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE@#To compare the clinical efficacy and safety among three different entry points of needle knife, including tenderness point, intervertebral foramen point and articular process node, for lumbar disc herniation (LDH).@*METHODS@#A total of 105 patients with LDH were randomly divided into a tenderness point group (35 cases, 1 case dropped off ), an intervertebral foramen point group (35 cases) and an articular process node group (35 cases, 1 case dropped off ). In the three groups, the needle knife was given at positive tenderness points of lumbosacral and hip, the external point of intervertebral foramen and the node of vertebral joint process respectively, once a week for a total of 4 times. The scores of Japanese Orthopaedic Association (JOA), Oswestry disability index (ODI), visual analogue scale (VAS) were recorded before treatment, 2 weeks and 4 weeks into treatment, and 3 months follow-up after treatment, and the clinical efficacy and safety was observed.@*RESULTS@#Compared before treatment, the JOA scores in each group were increased 2, 4 weeks into treatment and in the follow-up (P<0.05); 4 weeks into treatment and in the follow-up, the JOA scores in the tenderness point group and the articular process node group were higher than those in the intervertebral foramen point group (P<0.05). Compared before treatment, except for ODI score 2 weeks into treatment in the intervertebral foramen point group, the ODI and VAS scores in each group were decreased 2, 4 weeks into treatment and in the follow-up (P<0.05), and the ODI scores in the tenderness point group and the articular process node group were lower than those in the intervertebral foramen point group (P<0.05). In 2 weeks into treatment, the VAS scores in the tenderness point group and the articular process node group were lower than those in the intervertebral foramen point group (P<0.05); in 4 weeks into treatment and follow-up, the VAS scores in the tenderness point group were lower than the other two groups (P<0.05). After treatment, the clinical efficacy of each group was similar (P>0.05); during the follow-up, the total effective rate in the tenderness point group was higher than that in the intervertebral foramen point group (P<0.05). There were no serious adverse events in each group.@*CONCLUSION@#The three different entry points of needle knife all could improve the symptoms of patients with LDH. The comprehensive effect of improving the subjective symptoms, lumbar function, pain degree and long-term curative effect is better in the tenderness point group.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE@#To compare the clinical efficacy of locking plate fixation with a fibular strut allograft (FA group) and locking plate fixation alone (LP group) in the treatment of proximal humeral fractures in adults by Meta-analysis.@*METHODS@#Databases including PubMed, The Cochrane Library, Embase, Chinese BioMedical Literature Database(CBM), China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI), WanFang Data, and China Science and Technology Journal Database (cpvip Database) were searched by computer from establishing to March 2020 to collect studies about locking plate fixation with fibular strut allograft versus locking plate fixation alone for proximal humeral fractures in adults. Two reviewers independently screened literature, extracted data, and assessed the risk of bias of included studies. The postoperative humeral head height changes, neck-shaft angle changes, Constant-Murley score, American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons(ASES)score, visual analogue scale(VAS), varus malunion rate, and screw penetration rate were compared by RevMan 5.3 software for Meta-analysis.@*RESULTS@#Ten cohort studies were enrolled in a total of 749 patients, 300 patients in the FA group and 449 patients in the LP group. The results of Meta-analysis showed that locking plate with fibular strut allograft was superior to locking plate fixation alone in the changes in humeral head height [MD=-2.69, 95%CI(-3.24, -2.13), P<0.000 01], the changes in neck-shaft angle [MD=-5.65, 95%CI(-7.18, -4.12), P<0.000 01], Constant-Murley score [MD=9.00, 95%CI(4.26, 13.73), P=0.000 2], the ASES score [MD=5.56, 95%CI(4.29, 6.84), P=0.000 01], VAS score [MD=-0.23, 95%CI(-0.37, -0.09), P=0.001], the varus malunion rate [RR=0.22, 95%CI(0.09, 0.53), P=0.000 7] and the screw penetration rate [RR=0.26, 95%CI(0.13, 0.55), P=0.000 3], respectively. While there was no significant difference in the rate of osteonecrosis of the humeral head [RR=1.18, 95%CI(0.57, 2.45), P=0.65].@*CONCLUSION@#For proximal humeral fractures in adults, current evidence shows that locking plate fixation with fibular strut allograft is superior to single locking plate fixation in improving postoperative radiological outcomes and shoulder function, relieving postoperative pain, reducing varus malunion rate and screw penetration rate. However, the efficacy in decreasing the osteonecrosis rate is not clear. Due to limited quality and quantity of the included studies, more high-quality studies are required to verify the above conclusion.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To observe the relationship between bone metabolism biochemical markers and clinic features in patients with spinal cord injury. Methods:From July, 2018 to December, 2019, totally 135 patients with spinal cord injury were enrolled. They were assessed with American Spinal Injury Association Impairment Scale (AIS). β-collagen type I C-terminal telopeptide (β-CTX), total N-terminal propeptide of type I precollagen (TP1NP), 25-hydroxyvitamin D [25(OH)D] and parathyroid hormone (PTH), serum calcium and serum phosphorus were measured. The level of TP1NP, β-CTX, 25(OH)D and PTH among clinical characteristics (gender, age, disease course, AIS grade and so on) were analyzed. Results:The levels of β-CTX and 25(OH)D were lower in women than in men (|t| > 2.044, P < 0.01). There was difference in the level of 25(OH)D among different ages (F = 3.156, P < 0.05). The levels of β-CTX and TP1NP increased in the first four months after spinal cord injury, and decreased then; while the level of PTH decreased in the first four months, and increased then (P < 0.001). The level of β-CTX was lower in patients of AIS D than in patients of AIS A and C (t >2.679, P < 0.05). The level of TP1NP was higher in paraplegics than in quadriplegics (Z = -2.035, P < 0.05). The level of β-CTX was higher in patients with fractures or surgeries involving bone than in patients without fractures or surgeries involving bone (t = 2.169, P < 0.05). There was no difference in all the bone metabolism markers between patients with and without lower extremity motor function (t < 0.839, Z < 1.822, P > 0.05). The ratio of 25(OH)D deficience was 85.19%. Conclusion:Bone conversion was active in the first four months after spinal cord injury, and decreased gradually then, which may be related to fractures of spine or surgeries involving spine after injury. The effect of spinal cord injury on bone metabolism markers is not clear. Most of patients with spinal cord injury were lack of vitamin D.

ABSTRACT

Liver metastasis is the leading cause of death in patients with colorectal cancer. Since surgical resection alone has a high postoperative recurrence rate, neoadjuvant therapy as an important means is widely applied in order to reduce recurrence and improve survival. Progress has been achieved in many aspects of neoadjuvant therapy in colorectal cancer liver metastasis, such as eligible patients selection, optimal regimens and courses of chemotherapy. However, controversies still remain regarding the standards of resectability of lesions and the application of targeted drugs. Individualized treatments could be developed based on multidisciplinary teamwork to achieve the goal of 'resources integration and treatment stratification'.

ABSTRACT

Slow freezing is the most commonly used technique for the cryopreservation of spermatozoa in clinical practice. However, it has been shown to have a negative impact on sperm function and structure. Vitrification as a successful alternative method has been proved to have better protective effects on human embryos, but vitrification of spermatozoa is still subject to low recovery rates. In this study, a modified vitrification method for native spermatozoa was developed. A total of 28 semen samples were included; each sample was divided into three equal parts and assigned to fresh, slow freezing, and vitrification groups. Sperm vitality, motility, morphology, DNA integrity, and acrosome reaction were assessed for each of the groups. The results showed that vitrification achieves better results for several sperm protection parameters than slow freezing; vitrification achieves a higher recovery rate (P < 0.05), motility (P <0.05), morphology (P <0.05), and curve line velocity (P <0.05) than slow freezing. Furthermore, DNA fragmentation was decreased (P <0.05) and better acrosome protection (P <0.05) was exhibited in the spermatozoa after vitrification. Principal component analysis of all sperm parameters revealed that the vitrification cluster was closer to the fresh cluster, indicating that spermatozoa are better preserved through vitrification. In conclusion, while both slow freezing and vitrification have negative effects on sperm function and structure, the vitrification protocol described here had a relatively better recovery rate (65.8%) and showed improved preservation of several sperm quality parameters compared with slow freezing.

ABSTRACT

Objective::To study whether long-term administration of Gastrodiae Rhizoma powder can improve the learning and memory ability of APPswe/PSldE9 double transgenic (APP/PS1) Alzheimer' s disease(AD) model mice and delay the progress of AD whether these effects are related to the regulation of antioxidant stress pathway in Kelch-like epoxylopropylamine-related protein 1(Keap1)-nuclear factor E2 related factor 2 (Nrf2)/heme oxygenase(HO)-1, and further explore the neuroprotective mechanism of Gastrodiae Rhizoma powder and its role in the prevention and treatment of AD. Method::APP/PS1 double transgenic mice model, the mice consisted of five groups: normal, normal administration group, model group, Gastrodiae Rhizoma powder prevention group, Gastrodiae Rhizoma powder treatment group. The mice in the normal administration group and the Gastrodiae Rhizoma powder prevention group were given the same dose of Gastrodiae Rhizoma powder (1.5 g·kg-1) daily at the age of 8 weeks. The normal group and model group were given the same amount of normal saline at the same time, until 24 weeks old, Morris water maze was used to test the learning and memory ability of mice, and the treatment group was treated with Gastrodiae Rhizoma powder at 22 weeks old.The mice were given the same dose of Gastrodiae Rhizoma powder (1.5 g·kg-1) every day for 2 weeks. The number of crossing platform, escape latency and platform residence time of mice were detected by Morris water maze from 24 weeks old to 24 weeks old.RNA, Real-time PCR was extracted from mouse hippocampus to detect the mRNA level of Nrf2, HO-1, Keap1, and Western blot was used to detect the expression of Nrf2, HO-1, Keap1 protein in mouse hippocampus. Result::Compared with normal group, the water maze test showed that the learning and memory ability of model group was lower than that of the model group (P<0.01), and the learning and memory ability of Gastrodiae Rhizoma powder prevention group and Gastrodiae Rhizoma powder treatment group was significantly higher than that of model group (P<0.01). Compared with normal group, the levels of Nrf2, HO-1 and protein in the hippocampus in model group decreased in varying degrees (P<0.05). Compared with model group, Gastrodiae Rhizoma powder prevented Nrf2, in the hippocampus of mice in model group. The level of HO-1 in mRNA and protein increased in different degrees (P<0.05, P<0.01). Levels of Nrf2, HO-1 mRNA in Gastrodiae Rhizoma powder treatment group was significantly higher than that in Gastrodiae Rhizoma powder group (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the expression of Nrf2, HO-1 protein. There was no significant difference in mRNA and protein levels of Keap1 among different groups. Conclusion::Morris water maze test and other results showed that Gastrodiae Rhizoma powder could improve the learning and memory ability of APP/PS1 mice, and it may enhance the expression of downstream antioxidant genes by regulating Keap1-Nrf2/HO-1 pathway. And then improve the learning and memory ability of APP/PS1 mice.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the association between mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and the risk of falls in community populations, so as to provide a reference for preventing falls in the elderly. Methods 826 community residents aged 55 years and older were enrolled in Wuzhong, Ningxia; cognitive function was assessed during the participants attending the basic public health examination, and self-report falling events were observed through telephone call survey after half a year. The incidence of falls among different populations was compared using unconditional Logistic regression model. Results A total of 521 participants completed the follow-up study, and 127 of them met criteria of MCI at baseline. 32 participants reported falling occurred during follow-up with a incidence of 6.1% (32/521), and the incidence of falls was higher (8.85%,23/260) in females than that of males (3.45%,9/261) (RR=2.56, P=0.010). The incidence among MCI group (9.45%,12/127) was 1.86 times of that among non-MCI group (RR=1.86, P=0.073). Under the controlling of demographic variables (gender, age and education level), there was no association between MCI and falls (RR=1.41, P=0.382). Conclusions The incidence of falls in the elderly communities is common, and females has higher risk of falls than males. There is no statistical association between MCI and risk of falls. Further validation is needed with large-sample studies in the future.

ABSTRACT

Whole body vibration training (WBVT) is a new kind of therapeutic exercise, which can improve musculoskeletal function and motor performance by transferring vibration stimulation to the body to affect neuromuscular activity. In this paper, the clinical efficacy, mechanism and parameter setting of WBVT in the treatment of chronic ankle instability were introduced through a systematic review of relevant literatures, so as to provide theoretical basis for the clinical application of this technique.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To explore the relationship of platelet activation markers and vitamin D to antiplatelet drug resistance in ischemic stroke patients. Methods:From June, 2017 to June, 2018, 190 patients with ischemic stroke were tested their maximum platelet aggregation rate (MPAR) induced by adenosine diphosphate (ADP) and arachidonic acid (AA), activation of platelet CD62P and P-selectin vitamin D seven to ten days after dual antiplatelet treatment (aspirin 100 mg/d + clopidogrel 75 mg/d). According to the MPAR induced by ADP and AA, the patients were divided into resistance group and sensitive group. Results:The prevalence of aspirin resistance was 1.2%, while the prevalence of clopidogrel resistance was 24.7% (47 in the resistance group and 143 in the sensitive group). The activation of platelet CD62P (t = -5.232, P < 0.001) and the prevalence of hypertension (χ2 = 4.878, P < 0.05) were more in the resistance group than in the sensitive group, while the vitamin D concentration was less (t = 3.052, P < 0.01). There was no significant difference in P-selectin between the resistance and sensitive groups (t = -0.684, P = 0.253). Logistic regression analyses showed that hypertension (OR = 5.538, 95% CI: 1.204-25.470, P < 0.05), activation of platelet CD62P (OR = 1.082, 95% CI: 1.041-1.092, P < 0.05) and vitamin D (OR = 0.848, 95% CI: 0.755-0.953, P < 0.01) were the independent related factors for clopidogrel resistance. Conclusion:Inhibition of platelet activation and supplementation of vitamin D may help to overcome the resistance of clopidogrel.
