ABSTRACT

Objective: To investigate the effect of Yi Jin Jing (Sinew-transforming Qigong Exercises) plus tuina on scapulohumeral periarthritis (SP). Methods: A total of 30 cases with SP were randomized into an observation group and a control group. Those in the observation group practiced Yi Jin Jing (Sinew-transforming Qigong Exercises) plus tuina therapy; whereas those in the control group received only tuina therapy. Tuina therapy was conducted every other day, 20 min every time for 1 month and Yi Jin Jing (Sinew-transforming Qigong Exercises) was conducted once a day for 1 month. The therapeutic effects were assessed by visual analogue scale (VAS) and Constant-Murley scale. Results: After treatment, the VAS score and Constant-Murley scale were substantially improved, showing statistical significances (P<0.01); the Constant-Murley scale in the observation group was better than that in the control group, showing a statistical significance (P<0.01); the effective rate in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, between-group comparison showed a statistical significance (P<0.01). Conclusion: Yi Jin Jing (Sinew-transforming Qigong Exercises) plus tuina and tuina alone have a verified effect in treating SP, and the former can achieve a better effect than the later.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To observe the effect of acupuncture, tuina plus rehabilitative therapy on lower limb motor dysfunction in infants with spastic cerebral palsy. Methods:A total of 60 infants with spastic cerebral palsy were randomly divided into a treatment group and a control group by random digital table, 30 cases in each group. The treatment group was treated with acupuncture, tuina therapy plus rehabilitative therapy of Western medicine. The control group was simply treated with rehabilitative therapy of Western medicine, as same as that for the treatment group. The assessment was respectively given to the sick infants before the treatment and after the treatment of six months, to evaluate lying and rolling scores in dimension A, to evaluate sitting score in dimension B, to evaluate crawling and kneeling scores in dimension C, and evaluate standing score in dimension D in the gross motor functions and determine the muscle tone of the gastrocnemius muscle by modified Ashworth scale (MAS). Results:The differences were not statistically significant in comparison of the gross motor functions and the muscle tone of the gastrocnemius muscle between the two groups of sick infants before the treatment (P>0.05); after the treatment of six months, the above items were obviously improved in the two groups (P Conclusion:Acupuncture, tuina plus rehabilitative therapy of Western medicine are remarkable in the therapeutic effects in the treatment of motor disorders of the lower limbs in the sick infants with spastic cerebral palsy. This therapeutic method is safe, simple and convenient and needs to be clinically popularized and applied.

ABSTRACT

Objective]The clinical efficacy of TCM directed through drug treatment of pain for the first time with the temperature needle shoulder-hand syndrome after caused by stroke.[Methods]The 90 cases were randomly divided into treatment and control groups. The treatment group was directed through medicine with traditional Chinese medicine acupuncture treatment temperature ,the control group using only warm acupuncture.Respectively, before treatment, the first 30 days of oral grading score(VRS) was assessed for limb pain.[Results]After treatment ,the patient's limb pain scores were significantly lower than before treatment, treatment group decreased more significantly than the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P﹤0.05). [Conclusion]TCM directed through drug treatment and needle with warm warm acupuncture alone can significantly ease the pain of limb ,but TCM directed through drug treatment is better than warm needle acupuncture alone.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To observe the effect of tuina manipulations on blood pressure and its variability in hypertension patients. Methods:Forty hypertension patients were randomized into an observation group and a medication group, 20 cases in each group. The observation group was intervened by tuina manipulations of kidney-tonifying blood-circulating and collaterals- unblocking in addition to regular medication, while the medication group was by the same medication. The 24-hour blood pressure monitoring was performed before intervention and after 3-month intervention. The blood pressure and its variability were observed and compared. Results:There were no significant differences in comparing the blood pressure and blood pressure variability between the two groups before intervention (P>0.05); after 3-month intervention, the blood pressure and its variability were significantly improved in both groups (P<0.05); the improvements in the observation group were more significant than those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion:Tuina manipulations of kidney-tonifying blood-circulating and collaterals-unblocking plus medication can produce a better effect than regular medication in promoting blood pressure and its variability, and this method is worth applying in clinic as it’s easy-to-operate and has no adverse effect.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of Chinese herbal fumigation plus beating with mulberry stick in treating heel pain. Methods: Sixty patients with heel pain were randomized into a treatment group and a control group, 30 in each group. The treatment group was intervened by Chinese herbal fumigation plus beating with mulberry stick, and the control group was by orally taking Diclofenac Sodium Sustained Release Tablets plus external use of She Xiang Zhen Tong Gao (Moschus Analgesic Plaster). After one treatment course, the visual analogue scale (VAS) was used to observe the change of pain, and the clinical efficacies were also evaluated. Results: After intervention, the improvement of VAS score in the treatment group was more significant than that in the control group (P Conclusion:Chinese herbal fumigation plus beating with mulberry stick can produce a higher clinical efficacy than orally taking Diclofenac Sodium Sustained Release Tablets in treating heel pain.

ABSTRACT

The number and affinity of ?-adrenoceptors on rat uterine smooth muscle membranes were determined by radioligand binding technique. The number of ?-adrenoceptors (shown by maximum binding capacity RT) of uterus in proestrus and estrus stage (126.84?54.69 fmol/mg preicin) was significantly higher than those in diestrus and metestrus stage (77.98 + 30.66 fmol/mg protein) (p
