ABSTRACT

Objective To understand the present situation and existing problems of the pharmaceutical care of Nutrition Support Pharmacists (NSP) in China and provide reference for pharmaceutical care of NSP. Method Literatures about pharmaceutical care from NSP were retrieved in domestic medical journals from January 2011 to January 2017, and totally 24 articles were analyzed and discussed. Result There were still many problems in NSP, such as the use of Nutritional Risk Screening, and the ratio of glucose/lipid ratio, ratio of non-protein energy to ni-trogen ratio, the lack or excess of vitamin and trace elements and the use of insulin and propylene ammonia acyl glu-tamine in total parenteral nutrition prescription, TPN osmotic pressure and drip time, and the application of glucose and fat milk energy density. Conclusion The pharmaceutical care of NSP starts relatively late, there are still many problems, and the capacity and theoretical level of NSP need to be improved.

ABSTRACT

Objective@#To evaluate the failure time of vaccine vial monitor (VVM) used for oral poliovirus vaccine (OPV) at 25 ℃ and 37 ℃.@*Methods@#160 copies of VVM were produced by a company, the model was QM5D37A, samples were taken from different batches by using the method of random number table . 100 bottles of vaccine were produced by a domestic company, and samples were taken from different batches by using the method of random number table. 160 copies of labels were placed in the incubator at 25 ℃ and 37 ℃, which were used to measure the mutative color of the active region. When the values of color were equal to 40, the color of active region was the same with the reference color, and the VVM was failed. 100 bottles of vaccine were placed in the incubator at 25 ℃ and 37 ℃, which were used to measure the vaccine titer. When total vaccine titer was less than 6.12 CCID50 or vaccine titer of typeⅠ was less than 6.0 CCID50 or vaccine titer of type Ⅲ was less than 5.5 CCID50, the vaccine was failed. We drew the graph of mutative color to calculate the failure time range of VVM According to the graph , we can determine that whether the failure time of VVM was later than the time of vaccines by the data of OPV .@*Results@#The earliest failure time of OPV was 21 days at 25 ℃, and the number of samples was one; The earliest Failure time of VVM was 12.5 days at 25 ℃, and it was less than the earliest failure time of OPV. The earliest failure time of OPV was 4.0 days at 37 ℃, and the number of samples was one; The earliest Failure time of VVM was 3.1 days at 37 ℃, and it was equal to the earliest failure time of OPV.@*Conclusion@#We could know that the failure time of VVM was always earlier than the failure time of vaccines at the same temperatures . The latest failure time of VVM was equal to the earliest failure time of vaccines at 37 ℃. All of the failure times of samples were earlier than that of vaccines at 25 ℃.

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To explore the relationship between ventilator efficiency of cardiopulmonary exercising test (the slope of the relation between ventilation and carbon dioxide production, VE/VCO(2)slope) and systolic pulmonary artery pressure (sPAP) measured by echocardiography in patients with chronic heart failure (HF).</p><p><b>METHODS</b>Data from 86 HF patients who were treated in Fuwai Hospital between December 2012 and July 2014 and performed the symptom limited maximal cardiopulmonary exercise test (CPET) and echocardiography were retrospectively analyzed.H F patients were divided into 3 groups (mild, moderate and severe) according to the maximum oxygenconsumption (peakVO(2)).</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>There is a significant linear correlation between VE/VCO(2)slope and sPAP (r=0.260, P=0.016). Using VE/VCO(2)slope>34.2 as a cutoff value to predict patients with sPAP>50 mmHg (1 mmHg=0.133 kPa) yielded a sensitivity of 70.0% and a specificity of 64.3%. The degree of the linear correlation between VE/VCO(2)slope and sPAP is stronger in mild HF patients (peakVO(2)>14 ml·kg(-1)·min(-1), r=0.686, P<0.001). Using VE/VCO(2) slope>34.2 as a cutoff value to predict sPAP>50 mmHg in mild HF patients, the sensitivity is 71.4% and the specificity is 93.8%.</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>There is a significant linear correlation between VE/VCO(2)slope and sPAP in HF patients. VE/VCO(2)slope>34.2 is linked with a high possibility of sPAP>50 mmHg in HF patients, especially for patients with mild HF. Invasive hemodynamic examination and impact of special therapy are warranted in future studies to veryfy present results.</p>

ABSTRACT

@# ObjectiveTo investigate the effects of Jiuqiang Naoliqing(JNQ) on the morphology of the vital organs(the brain,kidney and heart) in acute hypertension rats.MethodsThe model was established by L-NG-nitro arginine(L-NNA),which can inhibit the synthesis of nitric oxide(NO).Affected animals were administrated with high,medium or low dose of JNQ while nifedipine was used as the positive control.Effects on cardiac function and morphology of the vital organs were investigated.Results2 weeks after the establishment of the model,the affected rats had a 36% higher blood pressure compared with the control group.The acute hypertension rats showed significant pathologic changed in the brain,kidney and heart,while there was no obvious difference in the heart rate,electrocardiaogram,and blood pressure between the administrated groups.After treatment with JNQ,the contraction force and the oxygen extraction of the myocardiocytes were significantly reduced and the increasing velocity of the left ventricular pressure was decreased.The brain,kidney and heart showed improvement in pathology analysis to different levels.ConclusionAlthough it has no obvious effects on the heart rate and blood pressure in acute hypertension rats,JNQ can decrease the oxygen extraction in myocardiocytes and can obviously alleviate brains,kidneys and hearts pathologic changes.

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To compare the effects of three different iodine interventions on the speed of normalization of enlarged thyroid gland.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>Schoolchildren aged 8 - 10 years were randomized divided into one of three groups: group A was given iodized salt by researchers with an iodine concentration of 25 mg/kg; group B used iodized salt purchased from the market; and group C was similar to group B with additional intake of iodized oil capsules containing 400 mg iodine at the beginning of the study. Salt iodine content was measured bimonthly for 18 months and indicators of iodine deficiency were measured at baseline and 6, 9, 12 and 18 months thereafter.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>The prevalence of goiter measured by ultrasound, based on the World Health Organization (WHO) body surface area reference > 97(th) percentile, was 18% at baseline and declined to less than 5% by 12 month in groups A and C respectively, and to 9% after 18 months in group B. Rates of goiter were similar by palpation or by ultrasound. The median urinary iodine was 94 micro g/L at baseline and increased in all groups to > 200 micro g/L at the 6-month follow-up.</p><p><b>CONCLUSIONS</b>In this sample of schoolchildren with initially low or moderate level of iodine deficiency, the group receiving salt with 25 mg/kg (group A) recovered from iodine deficient on all indicators after 18 months of study. However when the iodine content of salt was floating, as seen in group B, the sizes of thyroid did not yet achieve normal status by 18 months.</p>
