ABSTRACT

Bulimia nervosa (BN) is a kind of mental disorder characterized by repeated episodes of uncontrollable overeating, accompanied by compensatory behavior to prevent weight gain and excessive attention to one's own weight and body shape. Cognitive control, reward processing, and emotional processing are three interrelated neuropsychological processes.Cognitive control regulates reward processing while also being regulated by emotional effects. This article reviews functional magnetic resonance imaging(fMRI) researches on cognitive control, reward processing, emotional processing and intervention in BN, aiming to summarize substantive progress and provide inspiration for future interventions targeting BN. It can be seen from the review that the abnormal cognitive control of BN patients is related to the decreased functional activity of the frontal lobe striatum circuit.Abnormal activation of brain regions related to reward processing such as anterior and posterior cingulate cortex, ventral striatum and insula. The reaction of the right amygdala, the left anterior cingulate cortex and the left insular lobe of BN patients under negative emotion was weaker than that of healthy people. After medication and psychotherapy, the abnormalities of the prefrontal lobe and limbic system were improved to some extent.

ABSTRACT

Multi-modal therapeutics are emerging for simultaneous diagnosis and treatment of cancer. Polymeric carriers are often employed for loading multiple drugs due to their versatility and controlled release of these drugs in response to a tumor specific microenvironment. A theranostic nanomedicine was designed and prepared by complexing a small gadolinium chelate, conjugating a chemotherapeutic drug PTX through a cathepsin B-responsive linker and covalently bonding a fluorescent probe pheophorbide a (Ppa) with a branched glycopolymer. The branched prodrug-based nanosystem was degradable in the tumor microenvironment with overexpressed cathepsin B, and PTX was simultaneously released to exert its therapeutic effect. The theranostic nanomedicine, branched glycopolymer-PTX-DOTA-Gd, had an extended circulation time, enhanced accumulation in tumors, and excellent biocompatibility with significantly reduced gadolinium ion (Gd

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the experience of nursing patients with large area bum. Methods Thirty-one hospitalized patients with large area bums in our hospital during January 2012 to July 2013 were set as the control group, where fasting was done within 24 hours at admission and enteral nutrition was done after surviving shock phase.Another 31 patients with large area bums in the hospital during August 2013 to August 2015 were set as observation group, where short peptide enteral nutrition powder was administered within 24 hours at admission, followed by enteral nutrition was done after surviving shock phase. The two groups were compared in terms of nutrition indexes and intestinal complication rate before admission and 4 weeks after treatment.Result After enteral nutrition, the nutrition indexes in the observation group were all better than those the control group (P<0.05) and the rates of complications on gastric retention and reflux, aspiration were insignificantly different between the two groups (P>0.05);the rates of complication on abdominral pain and diarrhea were lower those of the control group (all P<0.05).Conclusion For patients with large area bums, early enteral nutrition can better the nutrition and it is a safe therapy.
