ABSTRACT

Background@#Senecavirus A (SVA), a member of the family Picornaviridae, is newly discovered, which causes vesicular lesions, lameness in swine, and even death in neonatal piglets. SVA has rapidly spread worldwide in recent years, especially in Asia. @*Objectives@#We conducted a global meta-analysis and systematic review to determine the status of SVA infection in pigs. @*Methods@#Through PubMed, VIP Chinese Journals Database, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, and Wanfang Data search data from 2014 to July 26, 2020, a total of 34 articles were included in this analysis based on our inclusion criteria. We estimated the pooled prevalence of SVA in pigs by the random effects model. A risk of bias assessment of the studies and subgroup analysis to explain heterogeneity was undertaken. @*Results@#We estimated the SVA prevalence to be 15.90% (1,564/9,839; 95% confidence interval [CI], 44.75–65.89) globally. The prevalence decreased to 11.06% (945/8,542; 95% CI, 28.25–50.64) after 2016. The highest SVA prevalence with the VP1-based RT-PCR and immunohistochemistry assay was 58.52% (594/1,015; 95% CI, 59.90–83.96) and 85.54% (71/83; 95% CI, 76.68–100.00), respectively. Besides, the SVA prevalence in piglet herds was the highest at 71.69% (119/166; 95% CI, 68.61–98.43) (p < 0.05). Moreover, our analysis confirmed that the subgroups, including country, sampling year, sampling position, detected gene, detection method, season, age, and climate, could be the heterogeneous factors associated with SVA prevalence. @*Conclusions@#The results indicated that SVA widely exists in various countries currently.Therefore, more prevention and control policies should be proposed to enhance the management of pig farms and improve breeding conditions and the environment to reduce the spread of SVA.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the performance of MSCT in the diagnosis of metanephric adenoma.Methods The imaging data of 5 cases of metanephric adenoma confirmed by operation and pathology in our hospital were collected and analyzed retrospectively.The location, size, shape, density and enhancement of the lesion were further retrospectively analyzed.Results In the incorporated 5 cases of metanephric adenoma, the male to female ratio of cases was 1:4, all were unilateral, including 2 cases of the right kidney,3 cases of the left kidney,2 cases were located in the upper pole, 2 cases in the polar region, 1 case in the lower pole of the kidney.Maximum diameter of the metanephric adenoma ranged from 2.9 cm to 8.4 cm, with an average value of 4.8 cm.The shape of metanephric adenoma was classified into: round (3 cases) and oval (2 cases).On plain scanning slightly lower density was found in 2 cases, equidensity in 2 cases and slightly higher density in 1 case.Furthermore,1 case had small punctatel calcification in the edge of the lesion,1 case with renal papillary carcinoma.4 cases underwent plain and enhanced scanning,and 1 case plain scanning,in which slight density increase after intravenous enhancement was showed in 3 cases,moderate enhancement in 1 case,more uniform enhancement in 3 cases,uneven enhancement in 1 case,delayed enhancement in 4 cases.Conclusion The characteristic MSCT features of metanephric adenoma have a certain specificity.Preoperative correct understanding is helpful to guide the operation scheme.

ABSTRACT

Objective To study the effects of treating limbs pain of patients with depression after cerebral apoplexy with self-designed hemiparalysis-washing formula.Methods 80 patients with limbs pain after cerebral apoplexy in our hospital from May 2013 to November 2013 were recruited into a control group and a treatment group randomly,40 patients in each group.The control group was treated with 30mg edamvone and 100ml 0.9% sodium chloride or 0.5% glucose injection,Ⅳ in 30min,and twice daily.Meanwhile,regular functional rehabilitation training was adopted for the patients.The treatment group was additional treated with self-designed hemiparalysis-washing formula on the basis of the control group.VAS,HAMD-24,MESSS,STREAM and therapeutic effects were evaluated in both groups after one month treatment.Results ① clinical therapeutic effects comparison:the total effective rate was 90% and 70% in the treatment group and the control group respectively,with statistical difference between the two groups (t=3.58,P< 0.01).② VAS,HAMD-24,MESSS,STREAM comparison:VAS,HAMD-24,MESSS,STREAM score was (2.28 ± 0.54)、(11.34 ± 3.02)、(13.49±4.27)、(44.76±20.71)in the treatment group respectively,and(2.90 ± 0.75) 、(14.24 ± 3.35)、(17.55 ±4.91) 、(34.56 ±15.56) in the control group respectively.Both groups showed obviously improvement than the before treatment,and the effects were better in the treatment group than the control group (all P<0.05).Conclusion Self-designed hemiparalysis-washing formula improve limbs pain in patients with cerebral apoplexy and relieve their depression.

ABSTRACT

Objective To summarize the clinical experiences of total cavopulmonary connection (TCPC), investigate the applications and short and mid term effects. Methods From 1999 to 2007,31 patients with complex congenital heart disease underwent TCPC. All patients were divided into child group(≤16 years old ,n =21 ) and a-dult group( n = 10 ), including 15 cases of functional univentricle, 8 cases of complete atrioventricular septal defect with double outlet of right ventricle, 3 cases of transposition with double outlet right ventricle, 3 cases of tricuspid atresia, 1 case of double outlet of right ventricle with hypoplastic left heart. 1 case of corrected transposition of the great arteries with TOF. Among them, 1 patient had cortriatriatum, 10 patients had left superior vena cave, moderate or severe mitral valve insufficiency occurred in 1, moderate atrioventricular valve insufficiency occurred in 3.28 pa-tients underwent TCPC with cardiopulmonary bypass ( CPB ) and 3 patients without CPB ;Of them, 21 patients were treated with extracardiac conduit and 10 cases with intratrial lateral tunnel. Results There was no early death,post-operative death or large quantities of pleural effusion in child group;but two deaths and three patients with large quantities of pleural effusion in adult group. One case caught up in inferior venous stasis and was cured. Follow- up was carded out from 6 months to 6 years. 26 patients were in NYHA class Ⅰ ,2 patients in NYHA class Ⅱ and only one patient in NYHA class Ⅲ. Conclusions TCPC is effectively used for complex congenital heart disease which can not be corrected in anatomy;serious postoperative complications often occur in adults. Atrioventricular valve in-sufficiency decisively affects the short and midterm effects, even the long-term effects.

ABSTRACT

Objective To study the brain protection of sequential double-sided antegrade cerebral perfusion to central nervous system in arotie arch surgery. Methods 24 patients received aortic arch replacement under deep hyperthermic circulatory arrest (DHCA) ,with fight-sided, and following double-sided, and left-sided,if necessary, antagrade cerebral perfnsion through right axillary arterial cannula or right femoral arterial eannula homeochronously. Post-operation recovery and the central nervous complications (CNC) were recorded and analyzed. Results 2 cases died, one of whom died of refractory low cardiac output syndrome and the other died of late massive gastrointestinal tract hemorrhage. No patient suffered severe CNC. Conclusion Sequential double-sided antegrade cerebral perfusion combined with DHCA can provide good brain protection in arotic arch replacement.

ABSTRACT

@#ObjectiveTo assess the clinical efficacy and safety of donepezil in treating the mild to moderate cognitive impairment of vascular dementia.Methods60 patients with vascular dementia were randomly divided into therapy group (donepezil 5 mg/d for 4 weeks, and then increased to 10 mg/d) and control group (piracetan 800 mg,3/d). All patients were assessed with Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE), Wechsler Adult Intelligence Revised in China (WAIS-RC), Activities of daily living (ADL), and Clinical Global Impression (CGI), before and 12 weeks after treatment. ResultsMMSE scores improved significantly in both groups after the treatment. The therapy group produced significantly better scores than the control groups on the MMSE(P<0.05). WAIS-RC scores improved significantly in the therapy groups(P<0.01), but there was no significant difference for control groups(P>0.05), before and after treatment. Severity Improvement(SI) score of ADL and CGI in the both groups decreased. The total efficiencies of donepezil and piracetan groups were 86% and 56% respectively. There was no significant difference in adverse effects between two groups. ConclusionDonepezil can improve the cognitive function of patients with vascular dementia, which seems better than that of piracetan, and it is fairly safe for vascular dementia patients to take donepezil 10 mg a day.
