ABSTRACT

Oral lichen planus (OLP) is a common chronic inflammatory oral mucosa disease, which is closely related to immune deficiency. Triamcinolone acetonide is considered to be the drug of choice for treatment of OLP due to its anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic and immunosuppressive effects. However, long-term application of triamcinolone acetonide can produce a variety of adverse reactions, and it prone to rebound after discontinuation, which greatly hinders the clinical diagnosis and treatment of OLP. This article reviews the adverse reactions of triamcinolone acetonide in the treatment of OLP and its coping strategies in order to provide some reference for the clinical treatment of OLP.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To investigate the effect of hydroxyurea (HU) combined with temozolomide (TMZ) and radiotherapy (RT) on the sensitivity of human glioma U251 cells to chemoradiotherapy (CRT).Methods:Human glioma U251 cell line was cultured in vitro. CCK8 cell assay was used to detect the proliferation activity of U251 cells treated with different concentrations of HU/TMZ under different conditions. Flow cytometry was utilized to detect apoptosis rate and cell cycle distribution of U251 cells. Transwell chamber assay and scratch test were performed to evaluate the changes of cell invasion and migration. The expression levels of apoptosis proteins were determined by Western blot. Colony formation assay was adopted to detect the cell survival fraction . Results:HU concentration at 50μmol/L and below did not affect the proliferation of human glioma U251 cells ( P>0.05). Low-dose HU combined with CRT significantly inhibited cell proliferation ( P<0.05), invasion ( P<0.01) and migration (12h P<0.001, 24h P<0.01), and promoted cell apoptosis ( P<0.01) compared with the use of CRT alone. Application of 50μmol/L HU combined with RT increased the radiosensitivity of cells (SER=1.49), significantly prolonged the cell cycle of S phase and G 2 phase (both P<0.05), considerably up-regulated the expression levels of the apoptosis-associated proteins of Caspase-3 and Bax and significantly down-regulated the expression level of anti-apoptosis protein of Bcl-2(all P<0.001). Conclusions:Compared with CRT, HU combined with CRT can further inhibit the proliferation, invasion and migration of human glioma U251 cells, promote cell apoptosis, increase the radiosensitivity and prolong the cell cycle of S and G 2 phases, thereby enhancing the sensitivity of human glioma U251 cells to CRT.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: To explore the mediating role of psychological capital in the sense of occupational mission and work engagement in preschool teachers.METHODS: A method of stratified cluster sampling was used to select 464 preschool teachers from 16 kindergartens in a city of Hubei Province. Occupational Mission Scale, Psychological Capital Questionnaire and Job Involvement Questionnaire were used to investigate their sense of occupational mission, psychological capital and job engagement. RESULTS: The total score of occupational mission was(48.6±6.9); the total score of psychological capital was(87.1±11.8); and the total score of work engagement was(79.8±11.4). Occupational mission was positively correlated with job engagement [correlation coefficient(r) was 0.607, P<0.01].The self-efficacy, hope, tenacity and optimism were positively correlated with job engagement(r were 0.526, 0.544, 0.573, 0.415, respectively, P<0.01). The mediating effect of psychological capital on occupational mission and work engagement was 0.15, accounting for 26.8% of the total effect. CONCLUSION: The sense of occupational mission can directly or indirectly promote job engagement. The psychological capital plays a mediating role between occupational mission and job engagement.

ABSTRACT

Objective To evaluate the correlation between ischemia-modified albumin (IMA) levels and severity of coronary artery lesions in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS).Methods This study included 51 in-hospital patients diagnosed as having ACS.All patients had undergone coronary angiography and received the standard treatment for coronary heart disease.Meanwhile,we included 10 healthy volunteers as the control group.Coronary angiography reports were collected,Gensini scores were calculated,and serum IMA levels were measured.Results The IMA levels of patients with ACS were higher than those of the controls (P < 0.05).However,when divided by the degree of coronary artery stenosis,number of vessel lesions,and Gensini scores,the IMA levels showed no significant difference between the groups.The IMA levels were not related with the Gensini scores.The moderate group had a low ratio of TIMI flow grade 3.Conclusion Patients with ACS had higher IMA levels.We found no correlation between IMA level and coronary artery lesions.IMA level may not accurately reflect the severity of coronary artery lesions.Increased IMA level may indicate the unstable status of ischemia.

ABSTRACT

Objective Hyperglycaemia and hyperlipid are common in clinical cardiovascular disease .The article was to ob-serve the change of endothelial and the expression of Rho-kinase in the aorta of rats with hyperglycaemia and hyperlipid and the rela-tionship between them .Methods Healthy male Wistar rats were randomly divided into 3 groups:5 as normal control group , 10 as model group and 10 as drug intervention group .The latter two groups were given high-fat diets for 5 weeks after tail vein injection of streptozocin (STZ) to establish hyperglycaemia and hyperlipid models , then fasudil (inhibitor of Rho-kinases) or saline were respec-tively given intraperitoneally for 4 weeks.Venous blood glucose (VBG), blood lipid levels, ET-1 and eNOS were tested, along with the expression of MYPT-1(the protein substrates of ROCK)、mRNA of RhoA and ROCK. Results Compared with normal control group, the levels of VBG、ET-1、MYPT-1、mRNA of ROCK and Rho A were increased in model group[(6.18±1.14)mmol/L vs (26.36± 3.25)mmol/L,(72.13±6.13 )pg/mL vs (88.22±4.61) pg/mL, (0.54±0.08) v s (1.28±0.17),(0.16±0.20) vs (0.83± 0.12),(0.40±0.18) vs (0.78±0.13),P<0.05].TG、TC、LDL were also higher in model group(P<0.05), while eNOS level was lower in model group than in control group[(24.42±2.13)U/L sv (17.36±1.58)U/L,P<0.05].Compared with model group, the levels of VBG[(17.70±2.69)mmol/L]、TG、TC、LDL, ET-1 [(75.03±2.50)pg/mL]、MYPT-1(0.74±0.01)、mRNA of ROCK(04.0±0.08) and Rho A (0.25±0.07)in drug intervention group were lower(P<0.05), while eNOS level (0.74±0.11) was higher(P<0.05) in drug intervention group than in model group . Conclusion Endothelial dysfunction and over-expression of Rho kinase can be found in hyperglycaemia and hyperlipid rat models .Fa-sudil could improve endothelial function .

ABSTRACT

ObjectiveTo investigate the efficacy and toxicity of postoperative radiochemotherapy compared with chemotherapy alone in the treatment of locally advanced gastric cancer.MethodsA total of 83 patients with resected adenocarcinoma of the stomach were randomly assigned to postoperative radiochemotherapy group (RCT) ( n =43 ) or chemotherapy alone group (CT) ( n =40 ).Patients in RCT group received radiotherapy concurrent with capecitabine chemotherapy then followed by 4 - 6 cycles of FOLFOX4 chemotherapy.The total dose of radiation was 45 Gy.The dose of capecitabine was 1600 mg/m2per day.In the CT group,patients received 6 - 8 cycles FOLFOX4 chemotherapy.Survival was analyzed using Kaplan-Meier method and Logrank test. Results The follow-up rate was 96%. The number of patients who had a minimum of 2-,3-year follow-up time were 37,12 in the RCT group and 31,10 in the CT group.The 1-,2-,3-year local control rates for RCT and CT groups were 100%,97%,94% and 95%,87%,73% (x2 =4.54,P =0.033),respectively.The 1-,2-,3-year survival rates were 98%,86%,81% in the RCT group,with 93%,80%,64% in the CT group ( x2 =3.96,P =0.047 ).The incidence of grade 3hematological toxicity in the RCT and CT group was 23% vs 15% ( x2 =0.93,P =0.630 ),and grade 3gastrointestinal toxicity was 16% vs 10% ( x2 =0.95,P =0.624 ). Conclusions Compared with chemotherapy alone,postoperative radiochemotherapy can improve survival of locally advanced gastric cancer patients with acceptable toxicities.

ABSTRACT

AIM: To discuss the effects of matric metalloproteinasez and tissue inhibitor 1 (MMP2/TIMP1) on the vascular remodeling after angioplasty and the regulatory effect of tongxinluo on it in rabbits. METHODS: 65 male white rabbits (2.5-3.5 kg; 6-8 months) were divided into 4 groups: control group (n=5, normal diet ), injury group (n=20, normal diet plus intimal injury), high-lipid group (n=20, high cholesterol diet plus intimal injury) and tongxinluo group (n=20, tongxinluo 0.5 mg?kg~-1?d~-1, 4 weeks, also high cholesterol diet plus intimal injury). Under X-ray the narrow parts of the vessel underwent angioplasty. All rabbits were killed and vessel samples were excised, respectively, for the detection of histomorphometry immunohistochemically and RT-PCR. The data were expressed as ?s.
