ABSTRACT

Los tumores cardíacos primarios son poco frecuentes en todas las edades, se reporta una incidencia en la población general del 0.002 %, muchos de ellos son hallazgos del estudio post morten. Caso clínico: se describen dos casos a los cuales se les diagnosticó tumor cardíaco primario por ecocardiografía bidimensional, únicos, mixomas y de localización en aurícula izquierda. Los síntomas generales fueron la primera manifestación clínica de la enfermedad. Se realizó tratamiento quirúrgico con resección completa del tumor, en uno de los pacientes se presentó evidencia ecocardiográfica de recidiva tumoral al segundo año de seguimiento, donde fue necesario reintervención quirúrgica. No se presentaron fallecidos.


Primary cardiac tumors are rare in all ages, affecting approximately 0,002 % of the population. Most of these kinds of tumors are diagnosed in postmortem studies during the autopsy. Clinical case: two case reports which were diagnosed with primary cardiac tumors by two-dimensional echocardiography, unique, myxoma, mainly located in the left atrium. General symptoms were the first clinical manifestations of the disease. Both patients were operated on to remove the whole tumor, and after following up these patients for two years, an echocardiographic evidence of tumor recidivation was found in one of them, then, a second surgical intervention was needed. There was no deceased.
