ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND@#The prevalence of skin diseases and diabetes mellitus (DM) are prominent around the world. The current scope of knowledge regarding the prevalence of skin diseases and comorbidities with type 2 DM (T2DM) is limited, leading to limited recognition of the correlations between skin diseases and T2DM.@*METHODS@#We collected 383 subjects from the Da Qing Diabetes Study during the period from July 9th to September 1st, 2016. The subjects were categorized into three groups: Normal glucose tolerance (NGT), impaired glucose tolerance (IGT), and T2DM. The prevalence and clinical characteristics of skin diseases were recorded and investigated.@*RESULTS@#In this cross-sectional study, 383 individuals with ages ranging from 53 to 89-year-old were recruited. The overall prevalence of skin diseases was 93.5%, and 75.7% of individuals had two or more kinds of skin diseases. Additionally, there were 47 kinds of comorbid skin diseases in patients with T2DM, of which eight kinds of skin diseases had a prevalence >10%. The prevalence of skin diseases in NGT, IGT, and T2DM groups were 93.3%, 91.5%, and 96.6%, respectively; stratified analysis by categories showed a statistically significant difference in "disturbances of pigmentation" and "neurological and psychogenic dermatoses". The duration of T2DM also significantly associated with the prevalence of "disturbances of pigmentation" and "neurological and psychogenic dermatoses". Subsequently, the prevalence of "disturbances of pigmentation" was higher in males than females in NGT (P < 0.01) and T2DM (P < 0.01) groups. In addition, the difference in the prevalence of "disturbances of pigmentation" was also significant in NGT and T2DM groups (P < 0.01).@*CONCLUSIONS@#There was a high prevalence of skin diseases in the Da Qing Diabetes Study. To address the skin diseases in the Da Qing Diabetes Study, increased awareness and intervention measures should be implemented.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND@#It has been a global trend that increasing complications related to pelvic floor surgeries have been reported over time. The current study aimed to outline the development of Chinese pelvic floor surgeries related to pelvic organ prolapse (POP) over the past 14 years and investigate the potential influence of enhanced monitoring conducted by the Chinese Association of Urogynecology since 2011.@*METHODS@#A total of 44,594 women with POP who underwent pelvic floor surgeries between October 1, 2004 and September 30, 2018 were included from 22 tertiary academic medical centers. The data were reported voluntarily and obtained from a database. We compared the proportion of each procedure in the 7 years before and 7 years after September 30, 2011. The data were analyzed by performing Z test (one-sided).@*RESULTS@#The number of different procedures during October 1, 2011-September 30, 2018 was more than twice that during October 1, 2004-September 30, 2011. Regarding pelvic floor surgeries related to POP, the rate of synthetic mesh procedures increased from 38.1% (5298/13,906) during October 1, 2004-September 30, 2011 to 46.0% (14,107/30,688) during October 1, 2011-September 30, 2018, whereas the rate of non-mesh procedures decreased from 61.9% (8608/13,906) to 54.0% (16,581/30,688) (Z = 15.53, P < 0.001). Regarding synthetic mesh surgeries related to POP, the rates of transvaginal placement of surgical mesh (TVM) procedures decreased from 94.1% (4983/5298) to 82.2% (11,603/14,107) (Z = 20.79, P < 0.001), but the rate of laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy (LSC) procedures increased from 5.9% (315/5298) to 17.8% (2504/14,107).@*CONCLUSIONS@#The rate of synthetic mesh procedures increased while that of non-mesh procedures decreased significantly. ABSTRACT

To investigate the histopathologic, immunohistochemical, molecular genetic characteristics of dedifferentiated liposarcomas with meningothelial-like whorls(DDLMW). Six cases of DDLMW diagnosed at Jiangsu Province Hospital(the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University) from March 2012 to August 2018 were enrolled. The cases were analyzed by routine HE staining, immunohistochemistry(MDM2, CDK4 and p16) and fluorescent in-situ hybridization(FISH) on MDM2 gene. Related literatures were also reviewed. Three of the 6 patients were male.The patient ages ranged from 40 to 77 years (mean, 58 years). Four tumors occurred in the retroperitoneum and two in the mediastinum. Histologically, the tumors showed, in addition to foci of well-differentied liposarcoma, characteristic, scattered meningothelial-like concentrical whorls. The whorls were composed of tightly, concentrically arranged, spindle to ovoid cells with mild to mederate cytological atypia. Metaplastic bone was present within or in their immediate vicinity in four case. The tumors cell also showed strong and diffuse immunoreactivity to MDM2, CDK4 and p16, but no immunoreactivity to S-100 protein, SMA, SOX10, EMA, CD21, CD23 or CD35. The Ki-67 labeling indexes were low, while FISH showed high levels of MDM2 amplification in all cases. DDLMW is a rare morphologic variant of dedifferentiated liposarcoma. The whorls in DDLMW do not represent perineurial or follicular dendritic differentiation. Recognition and familiarity with its existence, as well as combined application of immunohistochemical staining and MDM FISH, are important to avoid confusion with other lesions.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the spatio-temporal characteristics of Oncomelania hupensis snails along the Danyang section of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal and the Danyang-Jintan-Liyang Canal, so as to provide scientific evidence for the dynamic assessment of the risk of snail spread in this region. Methods O. hupensis snail status was collected in the plain regions with waterway networks in the study area from 2012 to 2017. The spatio-temporal variations of snail distribution were investigated along the Danyang section of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal and the Danyang-Jintan-Liyang Canal using buffer zone analysis, spatial autocorrelation, hotspot analysis and standard deviational ellipse with the geographical information system (GIS) tools. Results The number of snail habitats showed a tendency towards a rise in the study area from 2012 to 2017, and snail habitats were predominantly distributed in the 1 000 m long buffer zone of the Danyang-Jintan-Liyang Canal, notably along the Jiuqu River at the junction between the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal and the Danyang-Jintan-Liyang Canal. The distribution of snail habitats appeared spatial autocorrelations in 2014, 2016 and 2017, and the hotspot areas were mainly identified at the junction between the Danyang-Jintan-Liyang Canal and the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. In addition, the overall distribution of snail habitats was located in the northeastern-southwestern part of the study aera, and gradually shifted to the southern and northern parts with the time. Conclusions The spatial distribution of O. hupensis snails is complex along the Danyang section of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal and the Danyang-Jintan-Liyang Canal, and there is a risk of snail spread from the upper reaches to the lower reaches, where snail control needs to be intensified.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To explore whether internal mammary node irradiation (IMNI) can control the normal tissue volume dose within a reasonable range under inverse-planned intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IP-IMRT).Methods:The patients with breast cancer received postmastectomy combined with radiotherapy from January 2015 to July 2016 in Department of Radiation Oncology in Ruijin Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine were retrospectively screened and sampled. The prescription dose was 50 Gy/25 times. The whole heart and ipsilateral lung were outlined on CT scan, and the dose-volume histogram parameters were quantified in the RT planning system (ADAC Pinnacle).Results:For the left breast cancer patients ( n=67) who received IMNI, the total heart dose-volume histogram parameters in 2016 were significantly decreased compared with those in 2015. The D mean in 2015 was (976.65±411.16) cGy, significantly larger than (687.47±134.65) cGy in 2016( P=0.008). Among the same sampled population, the percentage of whole heart D mean at the doses of 12 Gy, 10 Gy, 8 Gy was 33.3%, 33.3%, and 66.7% in 2015, and 0%, 3.8%, and 11.5% in 2016, respectively. For the right breast cancer patients ( n=65) , D mean, V 2Gy, V 10Gy, V 15Gy and V 20Gy of the heart in the IMNI group were significantly higher than those in the non-IMNI group in 2016(all P<0.05). For the ipsilateral lung, D mean, V 10Gy, V 20Gy, and V 30Gy in the IMNI group were remarkably higher than those in the non-IMNI group (all P<0.05). Conclusions:IMNⅡs found to be associated with increased cardiopulmonary dose volume with IP-IMRT technique. Nevertheless, with the practical experience of IMRT and the increasing awareness of cardiac dose limitation, it is feasible to control the cardiac dose increment within a limited range.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To evaluate the feasibility of high concentrated contrast media combined with monochromatic images to improve image quality with double low scanning in dual-layer spectral coronary CT angiography.Methods:Fifty-six patients with suspected coronary artery disease were enrolled and randomly separated into two groups. All patients were scanned at 120 kVp in step-and-shoot mode using a dual-layer detector CT (IQon spectral CT). Patients were either injected with 18 ml high concentration contrast medium(400 mgl/ml) at 2 ml/s (group A) or 45 ml contrast medium (370 mgl/ml) at 4 ml/s (group B). Forty to 80 keV monoenergetic images with 10 keV increment and conventional image (group A2) were reconstructed for group A, conventional poly-energetic image was reconstructed for group B. Region of interest was placed on aorta root (AO), middle segment of left anterior descending (LAD), left circumflex (LCX) and right coronary artery (RCA) to measure the attenuation and noise, signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR). Image quality was assessed by two reviewers independently with a 4-point scale on image quality (1-undiagnostic,4-excellent). The objective and subjective image evaluation were compared using the Kruskal-Wallis test. The Steel Dwass was used for multiple comparisons between monoenergetic images in Group A and conventional images in Group B, after the Kruskal-Wallis test.Results:There were significant differences among the attenuation, noise, SNR and CNR of group B, group A2, and monoenergetic images(all P<0.001).The CT value in the aortic root was significantly higher at 40-50 keV monoenergetic images than that in group B(all P<0.05), and similarly, the CT value in LAD,LCX and RCA at 40 keV were superior than that in group B(all P<0.001). There was no significant difference in the noise of the aortic root among 40 keV image, group A2 and group B(all P>0.05),while the noise in the 50-80 keV monoenergetic images were significantly lower than that in Group B(all P<0.001). The SNR and CNR in the aortic root were significantly higher at 40-60 keV monoenergetic images than that in group B(all P<0.001).The SNR in LAD and RCA at 40,50 keV and the CNR in LAD and RCA at 40-60 keV were higher than that in group B(all P<0.01).The SNR at 40-60 keV and CNR at 40-70 keV in LCX were superior than that in group B(all P<0.05). There were significant differences among the subjective image quality score of group B, group A2, and monoenergetic images(all P<0.001).The subjective image quality score of 40,50 keV images were not significantly different from that in group B (all P>0.05),while the score in 60-80 keV image and group A2 were lower than that of Group B(all P<0.001). Conclusion:40,50 keV low monochromatic images derived from dual-layer spectral detect CT combined with high concentrated contrast media can provide comparable or superior image quality with double low scanning in CCTA study.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND@#The classification criteria and staging groups for nasopharyngeal carcinoma described in the Union for International Cancer Control/American Joint Committee on Cancer (UICC/AJCC) staging system have been revised over time. This study assessed the proportion of patients whose staging and treatment strategy have changed due to revisions of the UICC/AJCC staging system over the past 10 years (ie, from the sixth edition to the eighth edition), to provide information for further refinement.@*METHODS@#We retrospectively reviewed 1901 patients with non-metastatic nasopharyngeal carcinoma treated in our cancer center between November 2009 and June 2012. The Akaike information criterion and Harrell concordance index were applied to evaluate the performance of the staging system.@*RESULTS@#In total, 25 (1.3%) of the 1901 patients who were staged as T2a according to the sixth edition system were downgraded to T1 in the eighth edition; 430 (22.6%) staged as N0 in the sixth edition were upgraded to N1 in the eighth edition; 106 (5.6%) staged as N1/2 in the sixth edition were upgraded to N3 in the eighth edition. In addition, 51 (2.7%) and 25 (1.3%) of the study population were upstaged from stage I to stage II and stage II to stage IVa, respectively; 10 (0.5%) was downgraded from stage II to stage I. The survival curves of adjacent N categories and staging groups defined by eighth classification system were well-separated. However, there was no significant difference in the locoregional failure-free survival (P = 0.730) and disease-free survival (P = 0.690) rates between the T2 and T3 categories in the eighth edition classification system.@*CONCLUSIONS@#Modifications to the tumor-node-metastasis staging system over the past 10 years have resulted in N classification changes in numerous cases. Although the eighth edition tumor-node-metastasis staging system better predicts survival outcomes, the T classification could be simplified in future revisions.

BACKGROUND@#Youzhi artificial intelligence (AI) software is the AI-assisted decision-making system for diagnosing skin tumors. The high diagnostic accuracy of Youzhi AI software was previously validated in specific datasets. The objective of this study was to compare the performance of diagnostic capacity between Youzhi AI software and dermatologists in real-world clinical settings.@*METHODS@#A total of 106 patients who underwent skin tumor resection in the Dermatology Department of China-Japan Friendship Hospital from July 2017 to June 2019 and were confirmed as skin tumors by pathological biopsy were selected. Dermoscopy and clinical images of 106 patients were diagnosed by Youzhi AI software and dermatologists at different dermoscopy diagnostic levels. The primary outcome was to compare the diagnostic accuracy of the Youzhi AI software with that of dermatologists and that measured in the laboratory using specific data sets. The secondary results included the sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value, F-measure, and Matthews correlation coefficient of Youzhi AI software in the real-world.@*RESULTS@#The diagnostic accuracy of Youzhi AI software in real-world clinical settings was lower than that of the laboratory data (P < 0.001). The output result of Youzhi AI software has good stability after several tests. Youzhi AI software diagnosed benign and malignant diseases by recognizing dermoscopic images and diagnosed disease types with higher diagnostic accuracy than by recognizing clinical images (P = 0.008, P = 0.016, respectively). Compared with dermatologists, Youzhi AI software was more accurate in the diagnosis of skin tumor types through the recognition of dermoscopic images (P = 0.01). By evaluating the diagnostic performance of dermatologists under different modes, the diagnostic accuracy of dermatologists in diagnosing disease types by matching dermoscopic and clinical images was significantly higher than that by identifying dermoscopic and clinical images in random sequence (P = 0.022). The diagnostic accuracy of dermatologists in the diagnosis of benign and malignant diseases by recognizing dermoscopic images was significantly higher than that by recognizing clinical images (P = 0.010).@*CONCLUSION@#The diagnostic accuracy of Youzhi AI software for skin tumors in real-world clinical settings was not as high as that of using special data sets in the laboratory. However, there was no significant difference between the diagnostic capacity of Youzhi AI software and the average diagnostic capacity of dermatologists. It can provide assistant diagnostic decisions for dermatologists in the current state.

ABSTRACT

@#【Objective】To investigate the effects of Tc17 cells on disease severity and elimination of HBV-DNA in patients with HBV related acute-on-chronic liver failure(HBV-ACLF).【Methods】Forty-three patients with HBV- ACLF were enrolled. Twenty patients with chronic hepatitis B(CHB)and 12 healthy subjects(NC)were enrolled as controls. Flow cytometry was used to detect the expression of peripheral Tc17 cells. HBV-DNA loads were measured,and the MELD,MELD-Na,CLIF-C ACLF and AARC scores were used to evaluate the disease severity. The effects of Tc17 cells on disease severity and decline of HBV-DNA were analyzed.【Results】Compared with NC group and CHB group, the expression of Tc17 cells in HBV-ACLF patients was significantly increased(P < 0.001 and P = 0.017). Correlation analysis showed that Tc17 cells were positively correlated with AARC score,MELD score and MELD-Na score(r = 0.504,P = 0.001;r = 0.417,P = 0.005 and r = 0.382,P = 0.012),and a correlated trend was found with CLIF-C ACLF score(r = 0.294,P = 0.055). And as the disease progressed,the expression of Tc17 cells gradually increased.In addition,Tc17 cells were positively correlated with HBV-DNA levels(r = 0.339,P = 0.026)at baseline,and the HBV-DNA levels were significantly decreased in patients with higher expression of Tc17 cells than in lower group after 4 weeks of treatment(P < 0.001). Furthermore,it was found that baseline Tc17 cells and AST levels were associated with the HBV-DNA decline by multivariate linear regression analysis.【Conclusion】Tc17 cells-mediated inflammatory response helps clear the HBV-DNA,but excessive inflammatory response may aggravate the disease severity.

@# 【Objective】To study the correlation between hepatocellular jaundice and liver stiffness measurement and reflect the changes in patients with acute-on-chronic liver failure(ACLF).【Methods】Between January 2015 and March 2016,a total of 150 patients with ACLF-HBV infection were enrolled to collect clinical data,2D-SWE and biochemical variables. According to data distribution,correlation of total bilirubin with LSM by 2D-SWE was assessed by Pearson correlation analysis.【Results】One hundred and twenty-one patients were analyzed and divided into two groups:descended TB group and elevated TB group. For descended TB group,LSM decreased 5.1(2.2~6.6)kPa. For elevated TB group, LSM increased 6.2(1.2~12.8)kPa. A significant parallel correlation between TB and LSM value either the descended TB group or the elevated TB group. For descended TB group,accompanied with the decrease of LSM,patients reached clinical improvement standard and their average hospitalization time was 30 ± 15 days. Six patients underwent liver trans⁃ plantation in the elevated TB group,and showed TB level higher than twenty ULN(the upper limit of normal),ac⁃ companied with increased LSM value. Histological characteristics of these patients showed submassive hepatic necrosis. 【Conclusion】The degree of hepatic necrosis aggravation in patients with ACLF,which results in the continuous increase of TB and LSM,reflects the aggravation of patients′ condition;on the contrary,the decline in value of LSM reflects the improvement of patients′ condition.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE@#Dermoscopy is a useful technique for improving the diagnostic accuracy of various types of skin disorders. In China, dermoscopy has been widely accepted, and domestic researchers have made tremendous progress in the field of dermoscopy. The main purpose of this review is to summarize the current status of dermoscopy in China and identify its future directions.@*DATA SOURCES@#Articles included in this review were obtained by searching the following databases: Wanfang, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, PubMed, and the Web of Science. We focused on research published before 2019 with keywords including dermoscopy, dermoscopic, dermoscope and trichoscopy.@*STUDY SELECTION@#A total of 50 studies were selected. Of these studies, 20 studies were in Chinese and 30 in English, research samples of all the studies were collected from Chinese populations.@*RESULTS@#Since 2000, more than 380 articles about dermoscopy have been published in domestic or foreign journals. Dermoscopy can improve the diagnostic accuracy of neoplastic diseases, evaluating the therapeutic effect of treatment, and determining the treatment endpoint, and it can also assist in the differential diagnosis of inflammatory diseases and in the assessment of the severity of the disease. In addition, researches about the applications of dermoscopy during surgical treatment have been published. Training courses aiming to improve the diagnostic ability of dermatologists, either face-to-face or online, have been offered. The Chinese Skin Image Database, launched in 2017 as a work platform for dermatologists, has promoted the development of dermoscopy in China. Computer-aided diagnostic systems based on the Chinese population are ready for use. In the future, cooperation, resource sharing, talent development, image management, and computer-aided diagnosis will be important directions for the development of dermoscopy in China.@*CONCLUSION@#Dermoscopy has been widely used and developed in China, however, it still needs to address more challenges in the future.

While regulating and , more attention should be paid to - harmony, which is not only suitable for women's perimenopausal syndrome, but also for a series of clinical diseases caused by refractory drugs such as endocrine therapy after breast cancer surgery. At the same time of acupoint selection based on syndrome differentiation, a more rational prescriptions should be made according to the duration of the disease and the experience acupoints to improve the clinical efficacy.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE@#To observe the correlation between referred pain distribution and acupoint sensitization in patients with intestinal diseases.@*METHODS@#In clinical research, 443 patients from 8 hospitals were recruited, including the outpatients and inpatients of Crohn's disease (=143), ulcerative colitis (=108), chronic appendicitis (=87) and other intestinal diseases (=105). The site with tenderness on the body surface and the morphological changes of local skin were observed and recorded in the patients. Using a sensory tenderness instrument, the pain threshold at the sensitization point was measured in 60 patients with ulcerative colitis. In animal experiment, SD rats were used and divided into a enteritis group (=8), in which the enteritis model were established, and a control group (=3), in which no any intervention was given. After the injection of Evans blue (EB) at caudal vein, the blue exudation points on the body surface were observed and the distribution rule was analyzed statistically.@*RESULTS@#The referred pain on the body surface in the patients with intestinal diseases was mainly located in the lower abdomen (93.9%, 416/443), the lumbar region (70.9%, 314/443) and the lower legs (33.0%, 146/443). The diameter of tenderness region was 1.5 to 2.5 cm. Compared with the region without sensitization, the pain threshold of the sensitization point in the patients with ulcerative colitis was reduced significantly (<0.001). The referred pain on the body surface in the patients with appendicitis was located in the right lower abdomen (97.7%, 85/87), the waist and back (54.0%, 47/87) and the right lower limbs on the medial side (71.3%, 62/87). The tenderness region was 1 to 2 cm in diameter and was irregular in form. After modeling of enteritis in the rats, the EB exudation points were visible from T to L.@*CONCLUSION@#Intestinal diseases induce referred pain on the body surface where is the same as or adjacent to the location of the spinal segment corresponding to the affected intestinal section. These sensitization regions are related to the locations of acupoints.

ABSTRACT

Objective: Although CT and bedside X-ray are available to diagnose pneumonia, there is still an urgent need for a convenient, effective bedside examination to accurately diagnose pneumonia especially in critically ill patients. The purpose of this study was to explore the application of bedside pulmonary ultrasound in the anatomical location and size determination of pneumonia. Methods: Familiarizing pulmonary anatomical localization of healthy people with pulmonary ultrasonography, 40 patients with community acquired pneumonia who were hospitalized in the Affiliated Hospital of Nantong University from January 2015 to January 2019 met the diagnostic criteria of community acquired pneumonia were examined by bedside ultrasonography and chest CT scan at the time of admission. The anatomical location of pulmonary inflammatory lesions was localized and the size of the infected lesions was quantitatively compared. Results: Bedside ultrasound can clearly display pulmonary anatomical localization and accurately determine the size of pulmonary infected lesions. Conclusion: Bedside pulmonary ultrasonography has clinical application value in the anatomical location and size judgement of pulmonary infection focus.

Trauma,iatrogenic injury,and neurological disorders can lead to neurogenic lower urinary tract dysfunction (NLUTD).However,there are some special causes in women,including radical hysterectomy,mid-urethral suspension,pelvic organ prolapse repair,Fowler syndrome,interstitial cystitis etc.Traditional behavioral therapy,drug treatment and surgeries may work less well in patients with NLUTD and may even lead to progression and deterioration of the diseases.A review of current literatures revealed that there is an increasing evidence on the application of sacral neuromodulation (SNM) in the treatment of NLUTD in female.This review will provide a summary of the known mechanisms of female NLUTD and the effectiveness of SNM.

ABSTRACT

Diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG) is the main cause of brain tumor-related death among children. Until now, there is still a lack of effective therapy with prolonged overall survival for this disease. A typical strategy for preclinical cancer research is to find out the molecular differences between tumor tissue and para-tumor normal tissue, in order to identify potential therapeutic targets. Unfortunately, it is impossible to obtain normal tissue for DIPG because of the vital functions of the pons. Here we report the human fetal hindbrain-derived neural progenitor cells (pontine progenitor cells, PPCs) as normal control cells for DIPG. The PPCs not only harbored similar cell biological and molecular signatures as DIPG glioma stem cells, but also had the potential to be immortalized by the DIPG-specific mutation H3K27M in vitro. These findings provide researchers with a candidate normal control and a potential medicine carrier for preclinical research on DIPG.

Objective@#Dermoscopy is a useful technique for improving the diagnostic accuracy of various types of skin disorders. In China, dermoscopy has been widely accepted, and domestic researchers have made tremendous progress in the field of dermoscopy. The main purpose of this review is to summarize the current status of dermoscopy in China and identify its future directions.@*Data sources@#Articles included in this review were obtained by searching the following databases: Wanfang, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, PubMed, and the Web of Science. We focused on research published before 2019 with keywords including dermoscopy, dermoscopic, dermoscope and trichoscopy.@*Study selection@#A total of 50 studies were selected. Of these studies, 20 studies were in Chinese and 30 in English, research samples of all the studies were collected from Chinese populations.@*Results@#Since 2000, more than 380 articles about dermoscopy have been published in domestic or foreign journals. Dermoscopy can improve the diagnostic accuracy of neoplastic diseases, evaluating the therapeutic effect of treatment, and determining the treatment endpoint, and it can also assist in the differential diagnosis of inflammatory diseases and in the assessment of the severity of the disease. In addition, researches about the applications of dermoscopy during surgical treatment have been published. Training courses aiming to improve the diagnostic ability of dermatologists, either face-to-face or online, have been offered. The Chinese Skin Image Database, launched in 2017 as a work platform for dermatologists, has promoted the development of dermoscopy in China. Computer-aided diagnostic systems based on the Chinese population are ready for use. In the future, cooperation, resource sharing, talent development, image management, and computer-aided diagnosis will be important directions for the development of dermoscopy in China.@*Conclusion@#Dermoscopy has been widely used and developed in China, however, it still needs to address more challenges in the future.
