ABSTRACT

Objective:To explore the predictive value of thrombomodulin (TM) for venous thromboembolism (VTE) in patients with lung cancer.Methods:The clinical data of 356 patients with lung cancer from March 2020 to March 2021 in Honghu People′s Hospital were retrospectively analyzed. Among them, 71 cases were diagnosed as VTE (VTE group) and 285 cases without VTE (non-VTE group). The D-Dimer (DD), fibrinogen degradation product (FDP), prothrombin time (PT), activated partial prothrombin time (APTT), thrombin time (TT) and TM were detected. Multivariate Logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the independent risk factors of VTE in patients with lung cancer, and the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was used to analyze the predictive value of TM for VTE in patients with lung cancer.Results:There were no statistical differences in FDP, PT, APTT and TT between 2 groups ( P>0.05); the TM and DD in VTE group were significantly higher than those in non-VTE group: (11.61 ± 3.22) U/L vs. (7.70 ± 2.59) U/L and (5.42 ± 2.15) mg/L vs. (2.57 ± 0.96) mg/L, and there were statistical differences ( P<0.01). Multivariate Logistic regression analysis results showed that TM and DD were independent risk factors for VTE in patients with lung cancer ( OR = 0.27 and 0.66, 95% CI 0.19 to 0.39 and 0.56 to 0.78, P<0.01). ROC curve analysis result showed that the areas under curve of TM and DD for prediction VTE in patients with lung cancer were 0.830 and 0.892 (95% CI 0.772 to 0.889 and 0.842 to 0.941), and there was no statistical difference ( Z = 1.617, P>0.05); the optimum cut off values of TM and DD were 9.39 U/L and 3.83 mg/L, the sensitivity was 77.46% and 76.06%, and the specificity was 73.33% and 91.58%. Conclusions:The TM can be used as prediction index for VTE in patients with lung cancer.

ABSTRACT

Objective:A nomogram model was constructed to predict poor prognosis and death risk of mechanical thrombectomy in patients with cardiogenic acute stroke.Methods:Selected 276 patients with cardiogenic acute stroke who were treated by Jiangyin Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2016 to June 2020 who underwent mechanical thrombectomy as the research objects, and recorded their general information and laboratory test results. On the 90th day, the subjects were divided into a good prognosis group ( n=122) and a poor prognosis group ( n=154) according to whether the prognosis was poor or not; according to whether they died, the subjects were divided into the survival group ( n=208) and the death group ( n=68). The differences in patient related data were compared, Logistic regression analysis was used to screen for risk factors for poor prognosis and death, the line chart prediction model was established, and the ability of the column chart model to predict poor prognosis and death was evaluated by using the subject work characteristic (ROC) curve. The independent factors selected by multivariate regression analysis were used as predictors to construct a nomogram model to predict the prognosis of mechanical thrombectomy surgery in patients with cardiogenic acute stroke. The degree of calibration and validity of the nomogram model established in this study Make an evaluation. The measurement data that obey the normal distribution were represented by the Mean ± standard deviation ( ± s), and the two independent sample t test was used for the comparison between groups; The comparison of enumeration data between groups adopted chi-square test. Results:Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed age ( OR=1.165; 95% CI: 1.046-1.284; P=0.001), diabetes ( OR=1.123; 95% CI: 1.021-1.225; P<0.001), hemorrhage transformation ( OR= 2.394; 95% CI: 1.857-2.931; P=0.001), recanalization ( OR=0.418; 95% CI: 0.410-0.552; P=0.001), NIHSS score ( OR=1.502; 95% CI: 1.373-1.631); P=0.001), neutrophil count (NEUT) ( OR=1.024; 95% CI: 1.009-1.139; P=0.001), NEUT/lymphocyte count (NLR) ( OR=1.235; 95% CI: 1.112-1.358; P=0.001), D-dimer ( OR=1.939; 95% CI: 1.328-2.551; P=0.001) was an independent risk factor for poor prognosis in patients with cardiogenic acute stroke; age ( OR=1.153; 95% CI: 1.080-1.226; P<0.001), hemorrhage transformation ( OR=6.330; 95% CI: 4.904-7.754; P=0.001), recanalization ( OR=0.418; 95% CI: 0.323-0.514; P=0.001), NIHSS score ( OR=2.051; 95% CI: 1.784-2.338; P=0.001), NEUT ( OR=1.399; 95% CI: 1.275-1.523; P=0.001), NLR ( OR=1.528; 95% CI: 1.414-1.642; P=0.001), D-dimer ( OR=2.391; 95% CI: 1.948-2.834; P=0.001) was an independent predictor of death in patients with cardiogenic acute stroke. The established nomogram model predicted poor prognosis and the area under the ROC curve of death were 0.814 (95% CI: 0.800-0.828) and 0.842 (95% CI: 0.828-0.857). Conclusions:Age, hemorrhage transformation, recanalization, NIHSS score, NEUT, NLR, and D-dimer are all important for the prognosis of patients with cardiogenic acute stroke by mechanical thrombectomy. Diabetes only has a suggestive effect on poor prognosis. The nomogram model established based on these factors can effectively help clinicians evaluate the prognosis of patients, formulate reasonable treatment plans for them, and improve the prognosis.

ABSTRACT

Objective:Based on Logistic regression and XGBoost algorithm, the prediction model of malignant brain edema (MBE) after vascular recanalization of anterior circulation acute great vessel occlusive stroke (ALVOS) was constructed, and the prediction performance was compared.Methods:A retrospective selection of 382 patients with anterior circulation ALVOS who underwent early endovascular treatment (EVT) in our hospital from March 2014 to June 2020 and successfully recanalized the occluded blood vessel was selected. The patients were divided into the training group ( n=267) and the test group ( n=115) according to the ratio of 7∶3 by the random number table method. According to whether the patients had MBE after successful recanalization of the occluded blood vessels, the training group was divided into the MBE group ( n=41) and non-MBE group ( n=226). The baseline data, treatment and brain computed tomography perfusion(CTP) results of MBE group and non-MBE group in training group and test group were compared respectively, including age, admission score of National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), grade of cerebral collateral circulation, cerebral blood volume, and so on. Logistic regression model and XGBoost algorithm model were used to screen the predictors of MBE in ALVOS patients with occluded vessels successfully recanalized, and the discrimination and calibration of the two models were compared. The measurement data conforming to the normal distribution were expressed as mean ± standard deviation ( ± s), and the independent sample t test was used for comparison between the two groups. Non-normally distributed measurement data were represented by M ( Q1, Q3), using independent sample Mann-Whitney U test. The chi-square test was used to compare the count data between groups. Results:There was no significant difference in baseline data, treatment status, and cranial computed tomography perfusion (CTP) imaging results of the training group and the test group ( P>0.05). The age, admission systolic blood pressure, admission NIHSS score, proportion of hypertension, proportion of cerebral collateral circulation 0-2, proportion of thrombus removal times> 3 times, time from onset to recanalization, and cerebral blood volume (CBV) of MBE group were (68.95±8.04) years old, (146.71±22.73) mmHg, 17(13, 21) min, 87.80%, 82.93%, 68.29%, (365.64±87.83) min, (32.56±5.73) mL/100 g, obvious higher than the non-MBE group [(60.27±7.13) years old, (137.92±19.58) mmHg, 14(10, 18) points, 73.01%, 60.62%, 2.65%, (307.59±74.05) min, (27.49±5.46) mL/100 g] ( P<0.05). The results of Logistic regression model showed that age, NIHSS on admission, grade of cerebral collateral circulation, times of thrombectomy and time from onset to recanalization were the predictors of MBE after successful recanalization of occluded vessels after EVT in patients with anterior circulation ALVOS ( P<0.05). The top five important feature scores of XGBoost algorithm model were cerebral collateral circulation classification 34, embolectomy times 27, onset to vascular recanalization time 25, admission NIHSS score 22, age 16.In the training set, the area under the curve of the Logistic regression model was 0.816(95% CI: 0.749-0.883), and the Hosmer-Lemeshow test showed that χ2=1.547, P=0.438. The area under the curve of the XGBoost algorithm model was 0.856(95% CI: 0.799-0.913), and the Hosmer-Lemeshow test showed that χ2=1.021, P=0.998. Conclusion:Logistic regression model and XGBoost algorithm model had similar prediction performance for MBE after successful recanalization of occluded vessels after EVT in patients with anterior circulation ALVOS, and collateral circulation classification, number of thrombolysis, time from onset to recanalization, NIHSS score on admission, and age could be used as predictors.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To investigate the predictive value of plasma myeloperoxidase (MPO) level for malignant arrhythmia (MA) in elderly patients with valvular heart disease.Methods:The clinical data of 92 elderly patients with valvular heart disease (valvular heart disease group) who underwent valve replacement surgery in Honghu People ′s Hospital in Hubei Province from May 2019 to May 2020 were retrospectively analyzed. The plasma MPO and serum N-terminal brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP), lipoprotein a were detected and compared with those of 60 healthy examination people (healthy control group) during the same period. The independent risk factors of MA in elderly patients with valvular heart disease were analyzed by multivariate Logistic regression analysis method. Predictive value of MPO, NT-proBNP and lipoprotein a for MA in elderly patients with valvular heart disease were analyzed by receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve. Results:The MPO, NT-proBNP and lipoprotein a in valvular heart disease group were significantly higher than those in healthy control group: (128.36 ± 39.25) mg/L vs. (89.16 ± 26.09) mg/L, (698.97 ± 154.65) ng/L vs. (47.95 ± 9.05) ng/L and (315.82 ± 79.96) mg/L vs. (153.37 ± 42.38) mg/L, and there were statistical differences ( P<0.01). The 92 elderly patients with valvular heart disease were followed up for 1 year. MA occurred in 36 cases (MA subgroup), and MA did not occur in 56 cases (non-MA subgroup). The MPO, NT-proBNP and lipoprotein a in MA subgroup were significantly higher than those in non-MA subgroup: (163.37 ± 29.11) mg/L vs. (105.86 ± 26.32) mg/L, (797.79 ± 113.54) ng/L vs. (635.45 ± 144.45) ng/L and (369.86 ± 45.27) mg/L vs. (281.08 ± 78.32) mg/L, and there were statistical differences ( P<0.01). Multivariate Logistic regression analysis result showed that the MPO, NT-proBNP and lipoprotein a were independent risk factors for MA in elderly patients with valvular heart disease ( OR = 0.937, 0.994 and 0.982; 95% CI 0.904 to 0.972, 0.988 to 0.999 and 0.968 to 0.996; P<0.01 or <0.05). ROC curve analysis result showed that the area under the curve of MPO for predicting MA in elderly patients with valvular heart disease was significantly greater than that of NT-proBNP and lipoprotein a (0.934 vs. 0.813 and 0.830, Z = 2.441 and 2.299, P<0.05). Conclusions:Plasma MPO is abnormally elevated in elderly patients with valvular heart disease, which has a good predictive value for the occurrence of postoperative MA in elderly patients with valvular heart disease.

OBJECTIVE@#To establish a micellar electrokinetic capillary chromatography-based method for identification and quantitative detection of interleukin-12 (IL-12) and analysis of its unfolding process.@*METHODS@#An uncoated fused-silica capillary (inner diameter 50 μm) with a total length of 48.5 cm (40 cm to the detector) was used for the experiment. The factors influencing the separation efficiency of IL-12 were analyzed, and a standard curve of IL-12 concentration was established. The mixture of IL-12 and anti-IL-12 antibody was incubated in a water bath at 38 ℃ for 40 min, and capillary electrophoresis was then performed under the same conditions. The results were compared with those of IL-12 and anti-IL-12 antibody to identify IL-12. IL-12 and dithiothreitol (DTT) were incubated at 60 ℃ in water bath for different lengths of times, and the unfolding process of IL-12 was analyzed based on electrophoresis results of IL-12 in different states.@*RESULTS@#A micellar capillary electrophoresis on-line sweep method was established with 80 mmol/L borate (pH=9.3) containing 30 mmol/L sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) as the buffer solution. This system showed a good linear relationship between the peak area and the mass concentration of IL-12 with a linear correlation coefficient of 0.9991 within the linear range of 2 to 120 ng/L. As the incubation time of IL-12 and DTT prolonged, the disulfide bond of IL-12 gradually opened and resulted in distinct changes in the protein peak.@*CONCLUSIONS@#This capillary electrophoresis-based method is simple and sensitive for IL-2 analysis and allows rapid detection of changes in IL-12 content in the setting of tumors and analysis of the possible causes.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To understand the unmet needs of breast cancer survivors and to analyze the influencing factors of unmet need for breast cancer survivors, and to provide evidence for the development of intervention programs to reduce the unmet needs of breast cancer survivors.Methods:A total of 360 breast cancer survivors were surveyed using the Breast Cancer Survivors Unmet Needs Scale to observe the overall score of unmet need for breast cancer survivors, breast cancer survivor scores in different situations, and breast cancer survivors. Factors that were not met by the demand.Results:The overall score of unmet need for breast cancer survivors was (291.18±8.48). The highest score of symptom burden was (125.12±1.57) and the score was 89.37%. There were significant differences in the scores of breast cancer survivors of different ages, marital status, medical insurance forms, affected side, surgical methods, education, occupation, family income, and disease stage( t/ F value was 8.633-294.629, P<0.01). The unaffected factors of breast cancer survivors were education, age, family income, and occupation. The degree of the dependent variable was 36.4%. Conclusions:Breast cancer survivors have a high level of unmet need, and are affected by education, age, family income, and occupation.

Objective To explore the effect of visual feedback training using mirror neuron theory in patients with hemiplegia in early stroke.Methods From July 2014 to July 2017,122 early stroke patients with hemiplegic stroke in the First Peopleˊs Hospital of Wenling were selected in the study.After the patientsˊcondition was stable, visual feedback training based on mirror neuron theory was performed.The functional status of upper limbs before and after treatment was evaluated by the simplified Fugl -Meyer motor function evaluation.The modified Ashworth scale was used to evaluate the upper limb muscle tension before and after treatment.The Barthel index was used to evaluate the ability of daily living activities before and after treatment.Results The FMA score of patients after treatment was (35.74 ±11.24)points,which was significantly higher than that before treatment [(28.81 ±9.68)points,t=5.160, P=0.000].The BI score after treatment was (76.24 ±14.77) points,which was significantly higher than before treatment[(52.93 ±12.28) points,t=13.404,P=0.000].After treatment,the muscle tension of the flexor elbow muscle group was (1.57 ±0.76)grades,which was significantly lower than before treatment [(3.24 ±0.72)grades, t=17.619,P=0.000].The forearm pronation muscle group muscle tension grade was (2.14 ±0.96)grades,which was significantly lower than before treatment [(3.28 ±0.75) grades,t=10.336,P=0.000].Conclusion Visual feedback training based on mirror neuron theory can help improve the upper limb function of patients with hemiplegia in early stroke,alleviate the symptoms of paralysis ,improve the ability of daily living activities of patients ,and has positive effect on promoting their rehabilitation.

ABSTRACT

AIM: To investigate the effects of protein C activator (PCA) from Agkistrondon acutus venom ( AAV) on the tension of thoracic aorta rings isolated from the rats with sepsis.METHODS:The model of sepsis was es-tablished by intraperitoneal injection of lipopolysaccharide ( LPS) .SD rats were randomly divided to 6 groups ( n=6 ):sham group, LPS group, PCA intervention group (LPS+PCA, PCA at doses of 0.1 mg/kg, 0.3 mg/kg and 0.6 mg/kg) and LPS+polymyxin B (at dose of 0.2 mg/kg) group.Using perfusion experiment in vitro, the tension of the aortic rings was measured by biological signal analytical system.RESULTS:The values of MABP, HR, LVDP and ±dp/dtmax were significantly lower in LPS group than those in sham group and LPS+PCA groups.Compared with sham group, the relaxa-tion response to acetylcholine ( ACh) and the contractile response of aorta rings induced by phenylephrine ( Phe) were sig-nificantly decreased in LPS group, which were increased significantly in PCA intervention group ( especially at dose of 0.6 mg/kg) compared with LPS group.The dose-response curve of aorta contraction with denuded endothelium induced by Phe shifted down significantly in LPS group compared with sham group, and no significant difference between LPS group and PCA intervention group was observed.Also no statistical difference was found in non-endothelium dependent relaxation of aortic rings induced by sodium nitroprusside among the groups.Pretreatment of N-nitro-L-arginine methl ester and methyl-ene blue increased the contraction amplitude of aortic rings induced by Phe.CONCLUSION:PCA from AAV effectively reverses the hypoergia of the vessels in rats with sepsis through protecting vascular endothelium, the mechanism of which may be mediated by inhibiting NO-GC-cGMP signal transduction pathway.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To develop a method for the determination of natural benzoic acid in Mesona chinensis Benth. with different production places and storage time. Methods:HPLC was adopted, the column was an Agilent ZORBAX SB-C18 (250 mm × 4. 6 mm, 5 μm) column, the mobile phase was methanol-0. 02 mol·L-1 ammonium acetate (5∶95) at the flow rate of 1. 0 ml·min-1 , the col-umn temperature was 35℃, the detection wavelength was 230 nm, and the injection vocume was 10μl. Results:Benzoic acid showed good linearity over the concentration range of 0. 1-10. 0 μg·ml-1(r=0. 999 9). The average recovery was 99. 59%(RSD=1. 57%, n=9). Natural benzoic acid in powered Mesona chinensis Benth. was different because of various production places. The maximum content of natural benzoic acid in Mesona chinensis Benth. was 141. 8 mg·kg-1, while the minimum content was 73. 8 mg·kg-1. The content of natural benzoic acid in Mesona chinensis Benth. stored for two years was declined obviously. Conclusion: The method with simple operation is accurate and reproducible. It can provide a basis for the further study of Mesona chinensis Benth. resources, and provide a reference for the content determination of natural benzoic acid in other plants.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the occurrence, prevention and management of surgical complication of contralateral C7 nerve root transfer through the prespinal route to repair the brachial plexus nerve root avulsion injury. Methods From Feb. 2002 to Aug. 2009, 425 patients were performed the contralateral C7 nerve root transfer through the prespinal route with this procedure. There were 379 males and 46 females,with the average age of 21 years (range, 3 months to 56 years). The contralateral C7 nerve root was sectioned at the distal of the middle trunk in 15 cases, at the distal of the anterior and posterior division in 410 patients. The surgical complications related to the health C7 nerve root section and the make of tunnel through the prespinal route and others were analyzed retrospectively. Results The incidence rate of complication was 5.2%(22/425). The surgical complications related to the make of prespinal route including 2 cases had the severe bleeding during the operation because of vertebral artery injury; transitory laryrecurrent nerve palsy occurred in 5 cases, the pain and numbness occurred on the donor upper limber in 4 cases when the patients swallowed. The complications related to the section of contralateral C7 nerve root including the extension of finger and thumb was dysfunction in 5 patients after the operation, 3 cases had the severely pain on the health upper limber, Horner's sign occurred on donor side in 2 children suffered birth palsy, and C6 nerve root was mistaken sectioned as C7 in 1 case. Other serious perioperative complication including the thromboses of the cerebral trunk occurred in 1 case 42 hours postoperative and died in hospital 38 days after the operation. Conclusion The procedure of contralateral C7 nerve root transfer through the prespinal route is safe. The effective method to prevent this complication occurrence is to expose the origin segment of vertebral artery when making prespinal route.

OBJECTIVE:To establish a microbial limit test method for Akafen powder and validate the methodology.METHODS:The three methods for microbial limit test in appendices volume Ⅱ of Chinese Pharmacopoeia(2005 Edition)were adopted to study Akafen powder.The optimal test method was obtained by comparing the recovery rates of test organisms.RESULTS:According to the results,the recoveries of five test bacteria of Akafen powder by plating method were less than 70% versus above 85% by membrane-filter procedure.The the test organisms were successfully detected in the control bacteria test by media dilution method.CONCLUSION:Membrane-filter procedure is advisable for the test of bacteria,mould and yeast fungus,while media dilution method is advisable for the control bacteria test.

ABSTRACT

WRKY proteins, a big family of transcription factors, are involved in regulation diverse developmental and physiological processes in plants. Here, a novel WRKY gene, OsWRKY52, was isolated from a rice cDNA library. This gene included an open reading frame of 1 719 bp in length, and the deduced polypeptide contained 572 amino acids,sharing 54% identity with a WRKY1 protein from Avena sativa. Expression of OsWRKY52 gene was induced rapidly by Magnaporthe grisea in the incompatible interaction with rice plant. OsWRKY52 protein, expressed prokaryotically bound specifically to W box cis elements derived from the promoter of a rice PR1a. Transcriptional activation assay was performed by a yeast one- hybrid method. Regions of transactivation were identified to be the N-terminal serine- and threonine-rich islands and the C-terminal acidic domain of OsWRKY52. These results suggest that OsWRKY52, as a transcription activator, may be involved in defense responses against Magnaporthe grisea in rice plants.

Objective To observe the outcome of healthy C7 nerve root transfer through the anterior spinal approach to repair the brachial plexus avulsion. Methods The healthy C7 nerve root was sectioned at the junction site of trunk and division, the proximal side was dissected to the foramina and transfered behind the posterior aspect of anterior scalenus to the space between the esophagus and cervical vertebrae, then the 4-6 bands of cutaneous nerves were used for bridging the defect between the healthy C7 and recipient nerve to repair the upper trunk or dorsal division of the upper trunk of the injured brachial plexus. From March 2002 to August 2003, 21 patients with brachial plexus avulsion were repaired using this procedure, among which 14 patients (12 males, 2 females) were followed up for more than 12 months. The average age was 31 years with a range of 17 to 41 years. The interval from injury to operation ranged from 2 to 6 months with a mean of 4 months. 14 patients included 5 cases with total brachial plexus avulsion, 8 cases with upper and middle trunk avulsion associated with partial injury of the lower trunk and 1 case with cutting injury of upper and middle trunk. Results The average follow-up duration was 16 months ranging from 12 to 19 months. 9 of the 10 cases who underwent the healthy C7 transfer through the anterior spinal approach to repair the upper trunk, the C5 and C6 nerve roots or the anterior and posterior division of upper trunk achieved at least the MRC grade 3 motor recovery of shoulder abduction and elbow flexion and 1 case failed. 3 cases underwent the healthy C7 transfer to repair the dorsal division of the upper trunk achieved at least the MRC grade 3 motor recovery of shoulder abduction. 1 case who underwent the healthy C7 transfer to repair the C6 nerve root didnt get recovery. Conclusion The result of healthy C7 transfer througth the anterior spinal approach to repair the upper trunk of brachial plexus for restoration of the shoulder abduction and elbow flexion or the function of shoulder abduction in repairing the dorsal division of upper trunk is satisfactory.

ABSTRACT

Objective To observe the results of free medialis pedis mini-flap pedicled on medial branch of deep branch of the medial plantar artery to repair a soft tissue defect of finger. Methods The mini-flap designed on the medial side of the foot pedicled on the medial branch of deep branch of medial plantar artery was used to repair the soft tissue defect of finger or the degloved injury of the finger combined with second toe flap, furthermore, the vascular pedicle of flap was anastomosed with the digital artery and dorsal vein respectively. 13 fingers of 11 cases, which included 10 fingers of 8 cases of male and 3 fingers of 3 cases of female with an average of 32 years ranging from 18 to 58 years, were performed 13 free medialis pedis mini-flaps transplantation. Eight free medialis pedis mini-flaps were used to repair the soft tissue defect of the finger, and 5 free medialis pedis mini-flaps combined with the second toe composite flap were used to reconstruct the degloved finger. Results All the patients were followed up on an average of 21 months ranging from 3 months to 5.5 years. The maximal area of flaps was 5 cm?4 cm, and the minimal was 2.5 cm?3 cm. 12 of the 13 free medialis pedis mini-flaps were survived completely, however, 1 healed but partly necrosis. The color, character and thickness of this flap after transplantation were similar to the skin of the finger; and the appearance of the reconstructed finger by mini-medialis pedis flap and second toe composite flap was perfect. The transplanted skin of donated areas survived well, and the appearance and functions of donated feet were not affected significantly. Conclusion The free medialis pedis flap pedicled on medial branch of the deep branch of the medial plantar artery was one of the optimal flaps to repair soft tissue defect of the finger especially on the palmer side.

ABSTRACT

The leaves of Scindapsus aureum were frozen at\|19℃ for 5 mins after sprayed with 91?g/mL Ampicillin and 91?g/mL streptomycin sulfate mixture solution,After 15 days the results showed that frozen spot number of the leaves treated with water reduced by 75% compared with those of CK,but thethickness unchanged.The frozen spots began with the border of the leaves.The frozen spots of the group treated with antibiotic mixture solution didn't appear until 5 mins later,and the number of the frozen spots reduced by 95% after 8 mins of freezing.They covered the border of the leaves.This indicated that the antibiotic mixture solulion can obviously reduce the freeze injury to the leaves.

AIM:To observe protective effect of L-glutamine on myocardial cell injury induced by endotoxin. METHODS:22 male SD rats,weighting(250?30)g,were randomly divided into three groups:control group( n= 7),endotoxin group( n= 7),glutamine/endotoxin group( n= 8). Heart were isolated from rats and perfused on Langendorff apparatus with Krebs- Henseleit(K-H)buffer(Saturation 95%O 2+5%CO 2)at a constant pressure(8.33 kPa)and temperature(37℃). The activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD)and malondialdehyde (MDA)content of efflux from coronary artery, monophasic action potential(MAP)and contractile force were measured at certain timepoints (0 min,20 min,50 min,80 min). RESULTS: Monophasic action potential and contractile force were markedly improved in Gln/ET group. The activity of SOD and MDA level in Gln/ET group restored closely to that in control group. CONCLUSION:L-gluta mine protects myocardial cells from injure induced by endotoxin.

AIM: To observe the protective effect of non-wounded ischemic preconditioning on ischemic/reperfusion injury in isolated rat hearts. METHODS: 25 male SD rats, weighting (250?30) g, were randomly divided into three groups: control group (C, n= 8), anoxia/reoxygenation group (A, n= 8) and non-wounded legs ischemic preconditioning group (N-WIP, n= 9).Hearts were isolated from rats and perfused on a Langendorff apparatus with a normal Krebs-Henseleit buffer (saturation 95% O 2+5% CO 2) at a constant pressure (8.33 kPa) and temperature (37 ℃) in C group ; Following 15 min equilibration, hearts were subjected to 15 min of global ischemia and 15 min reperfusion (37℃) in A group ; Rats were subjected to non-wounded leg repeated-brief ischemic preconditioning, and then treated in procedure similar to A group in N-WIP group.The activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and Ca 2+ -Mg 2+ -ATPase, malondialdehyde (MDA) content of efflux from coronary vessel and myocardium, myocardium monophasic action potential and contractile force were measured before ischemia, 15 minutes after ischemia and 5, 15 minutes after reperfusion. Methods 21 male SD rats,weghting(250?30)g,were randomly divided into three groups:control group(n=7),endotoxin group(n=7),glycine/endotoxin group(n=7).Heart were isolated from the rats and perfused on Langendorff apparatus with Krebs-Henseleit(KH)buffer(Saturation 95%+5% CO_2)at a constant pressure(8.33 kPa)and temperture(37℃). The activities of lactate dehydrogenase(LDH),creatine kinase(CK),superoxide dismutase(SOD) and the level of malondialdehyde (MDA) of efflux from coronary artery, monophasic action potential(MAP)were determined at the certain time(0,20,50,80 min). Results Monophasic action potential were markedly improved in Gly/ET group. Glycine can attenuate the release of LDH,CK from myocardial cell. The activity of SOD and the level of MDA were close to control group. Conclusion Glycine can protect myocardial cells of the isolated rat heart from the damage induced by endotoxin.
