ABSTRACT
OBJECTIVES@#To analyze the clinicopathological features of maxillofacial granular cell tumors (GCT) with the aid of immunohistochemical staining.@*METHODS@#Seven cases of maxillofacial GCT were retrospectively collated, and the microscopic morphology of maxillofacial GCT was analyzed. The expression of S-100, neuron-specific enolase (NSE), SOX-10, CD68, actin, desmin, and Ki-67 in GCT was detected by immunohistochemical staining. The cases were observed in the follow-ups after clinical treatment.@*RESULTS@#All seven GCT tumors lacked envelopes and were poorly defined. Microscopically, the sizes of the tumor cells were large and appeared with inconspicuous cell membranes, forming a syncytium-like appearance. The cytoplasm was filled with characteristic eosinophilic granules. The immunohistochemical results showed that six cases were NSE-positive, five cases were S-100-positive, seven cases were CD68-positive, five cases were SOX-10-positive, one case was actin-positive, and seven cases were desmin-negative. The Ki-67 index did not exceed 5% in all cases. In the follow-up sessions, none of the six cases presented a recurrence.@*CONCLUSIONS@#Maxillofacial GCT has a characteristic histological structure. Immunohistochemical S-100, CD68, and other indicators can assist in diagnosis, and the prognosis is good after clinical resection.

Objective@#To describe the sickness absenteeism among primary and secondary school students in Jiading District and to analyze its correlation with the incidence of infectious diseases and associated lead or lag times, so as,to provide a scientific basis for the health and education departments to take measures.@*Methods@#The regularity and symptom composition of school sickness absenteeism among primary and secondary school students in Jiading District from the 2010-2017 were described. The Joinpoint model was applied to analyze the changing trend of absenteeism. And the rate of school sickness absenteeism and incidences of 7 acute infectious diseases were compared through visual analysis. The time lagged correlation coefficients and Granger causality tests were applied to quantitatively analyze the correlation and lead/lag patterns.@*Results@#The average rate of school sickness absenteeism among primary and secondary school students in Jiading District, Shanghai was 0.27%. Since the 2012 academic year, the overall rate of sickness absenteeism has been on the rise. Fever was the most common symptom of absenteeism (47.49%). The trend of sickness absenteeism rate was mainly consistent with the incidence of influenza, and showed a one way Granger causality. The maximum time lagged correlation coefficient was obtained in the second semester of the 2017 academic year with a value of 0.43 (95% CI =0.25-0.58). The maximum time lagged correlation coefficient between the rate of sickness absenteeism with fever and other respiratory symptoms and the incidence of influenza was also obtained in the second semester of the 2017 academic year and the maximum correlation coefficient was 0.50(95% CI =0.33-0.65).@*Conclusion@#The sickness absenteeism rate in primary and secondary school students is correlated to influenza incidence, and it has potential application value in supplementing early warning of influenza activities in the community.
ABSTRACT
Malignant transformation arising in benign lymphoepithelial cysts is a complex and rare occurrence, and related research is limited. This study presents a case of the malignant degeneration of lymphoepithelial cyst in parapharyngeal space. Clinicopathological features and differential diagnosis are discussed with literature review to provide reference for clinical diagnosis and treatment management.

Objective To evaluate the effect of early intervention in preschool children anxiety. Methods Children with Spence anxiety preschool scale score≥48 points were randomly divided into the intervention group and monitor group. The parents of children in intervention group were educated with a total of 6 collective curriculum of children's anxiety management, while the monitor group were followed up only. All the children were evaluated by scale on the third month, sixth month, one year and one and a half years respectively, and then the differences of the two groups were compared. Results The average score of the intervention group decreased continuously on the third month, sixth month, one year and one and a half years, and the differences of the two groups were statistically significant(P<0.05). Conclusion Early short-term education for parents can relieve their preschool children's anxiety effectively with long term effect.
ABSTRACT
Objective To detect circulating antigen (Cag) for diagnosing neurocysticercosis. Method ELISA was performed with monoclonal antibody 4B6 against the cyst fluid antigen of Cyticercus cellulosae for detecting Cag in serum and/or cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) of patients with neurocysticercosis or with other diseases. Results In the group of 82 cases of neurocysticercosis, the positive rate of serum Cag was 79.2% (65/82) and the positive rate of CSF Cag was 100% (26/26). After chemotherapy for 20 cases with positive serum Cag, the titer of serum Cag in 17 cases dropped to zero(85% ). Cag could not be detected in specimens from patients with other diseases. Conclusion These results indicate that the determination of Cag, especially of the CSF Cag, is useful for the diagnosis of neurocysticercosis and the drop in serum Cag is a good parameter for the evaluation of the effectiveness of chemotherapy.
