ABSTRACT

Objective To promote rational drug use and assure the drug use in an effective and safe way by developing the monitoring role of clinical pharmacists in the adverse drug reaction .Methods The common reasons for adverse drug reaction were an-alyzed.The clinical pharmacists took advantage of their professional knowledge to deal with adverse drug reactions and reinforce the monitoring of the drug treatment. Results The clinical drug safety was ensured by reducing the adverse drug reaction incidence rate. Conclusion Pharmacy information exchange should be enhanced and the professional knowledge of clinical medical staff should be broadened to promote clinical rational drug use.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To investigate whether the nutrition support team (NST) benefits esophageal carcinoma (EC) patients who are concurrently undergoing chemoradiotherapy. Methods: Between June 2012 and December 2013, 40 EC patients undergoing chemoradiotherapy were divided into the NST group and routine treatment (RT) group, with 20 patients in each group. At the end of chemoradiotherapy, the nutritional status, incidence of complications, and completion rates of radiotherapy were evaluated. The length of hospital stay (LOS) and cost were also compared between the two groups. Results:The nutrition and blood parameter values of the NST group were better (P0.05) for the patients of the NST group. Conclusion: NST could maintain the nutritional status and improve the treatment compliance and tolerance of EC patients undergoing chemoradiotherapy, thereby shortening the LOS time and reducing the costs.

ABSTRACT

Objective To analyze the differentially expressed proteins in bone marrow supernatants of multiple myeloma patients by using 2-DE and MALDI-TOF-MS,and search for the special protein markers for studying the mechanism of the development and diagnosis or differential diagnosis of multiple myeloma. Methods The bone marrow supernatant samples of fourteen multiple myeloma patients, five other hematologic malignancies and five normal controls were collected. After removing albumin and IgG,the proteins in the supernatants were separated by 2-DE.Three groups images were analyzed and compared by Imagemnster 2D platinum 5.0 analysis software.Differentially expressed proteins were selected if the protein spots intensity showed more than 3 fold increase or decrease among different groups. The identities of the differentially expressed proteins with good repeatibility were determined by PMF based on by MALDI-TOF-MS or MALDI-TOF-MS/MS and NCBInr database search. Results 2-DE maps of bone marrow supernatants of the three groups could be analyzed and compared by image analysis of software.Forty-seven and fifty-eight differentially expressed protein spots were detected in multiple myeloma samples compared with normal controls and other hematologic malignancies samples,respectively.Forty-one reproducible spots were analyzed and identified by mass spectrum.Compared with other hematologic malignancies and normal controls, five up-expressed proteins and three down-expressed proteins were identified in multiple myeloma samples. They includes immunoglobulin J chain κ and λ light chain, provirus ancestral Gag polyprotein, mature oxy-cope catalytic antibody with hapten for up-expressed proteins, and hemoglobin, haptoglobin Hp2,zinc-alPha-2-glycoprotein for down-expressed proteins. These differentially expressed proteins reflect the features of muhiple myeloma, and relate to the development, progression and therapy of multiple myeloma. Conclusions Eight differentially expressed proteins in bone marrow supernatants of multiple myeloma are identified by using 2-DE and MALDI-TOF-MS.These differentially expressed proteins could be useful in studying the mechanism of the development and progression of multiple myeloma, and in developing diagnosis and differential diagnosis of multiple myeloma.

ABSTRACT

Objective To use computer and network technologies for Adverse Drug Reaction(ADR) monitoring. Methods Design adverse drug reaction clinical briefing system software, use the advance of the briefing system in monitoring the adverse drug reactions with fast and convenient and high efficiency. Results The reported rate of adverse drug reactions increased significantly. Conclusion Hospitals strengthen ADR monitoring will help improve quality of medical care and safety of rational drug use.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE:To study the pharmacological action of Shaducao oral succus in mice.METHODS:Pole-climbing test, charcoal clearance test,ear-swelling test,ink-propelling test were conducted respectively to observe the antifatigue action of Shaducao oral succus, and its effect on nonspecific immunity,anti-inflammatory and anti-diarrhea effects on mice. RESULTS: Shaducao oral succus markedly prolonged the duration of mice in climbing pole, and it also showed remarkable antifatigue effect. High dose of Shaducao oral succus significantly enhanced mice's charcoal clearance coefficient and clearance capacity index and enhanced mice's immune function. At high, middle and low doses,Shaducao oral succus markedly ameliorated dimethyl benzene-induced otitis, significantly lowered the ink-propelling speed, and satisfactorily relieved diarrhea. CONCLUSION: Shaducao oral succus was proved to be of certain antifatigue,anti-inflammatory and anti-diarrhea effects meanwhile it could enhance the nonspecific immunity of mice.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: Mental disorders of college students, especially medical college students, deteriorate year by year.Mental disorders can not only restrict healthy development of body and mind, but also cause social crisis.OBJECTIVE: To survey the prevalence of mental status and the correlation between mental status and family dynamics among medical college students.DESIGN: Randomized cluster sampling.SETTING: Center of Mental Health, the First Affiliated Hospital, Chongqing University of Medical Science.PARTICIPANTS: A total of 801 sophomores were selected from a medical university of Chongqing from November 2004 to June 2005.METHODS: ① Symptom Checklist-90 (SCL-90) was used to evaluate mental status among college students. If those students whose total scores were ≥ 200 and/or the score of any factor in SCL-90 was ≥ 3, they were regarded as having mental problem. The higher the scores were, the severer the mental problemwas. ② Family dynamics questionnaires, including family atmosphere, individuation, systemic logic and disease opinion, were used to evaluate characteristics of family dynamics. There were 4 items: family atmosphere, individuation, systemic logic and disease opinion. The more comfortable and cheerful the family atmosphere was, the lower the scores were; the greater the differentiated degrees were, the lower the scores of individuation were; the more objective the disposal of problems was,the lower the scores of systemic logic were; the more subjective the duty of recovery was, the lower the scores of disease opinion were.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: ① Prevalence of mental disorder; ② comparing scores of family dynamics between disorder group and normal group; ③ results of correlation analysis and step regression analysis between mental disorder and family dynamics.RESULTS: Among 801 questionnaires, 747 were involved in the final analysis. ① Prevalence of mental problem was 19.4%. ② The scores of family atmosphere, Individuation, systemic logic and disease opinion were all higher in disorder group than those in normal group, with significant differences (3.10±0.49, 2.66±0.64; 2.92±0.54, 2.77±0.58; 2.79±0.55,2.69±0.54; 2.58±0.67, 2.36±0.62, P < 0.05). ③ The total score of SCL-90 was positive correlation with points of family atmosphere and disease opinion (r=0,184, 0,156, P < 0.05). Family atmosphere, individuation and disease opinion were analyzed by regression equation.C0NCLUSION: Mental status of college students is closely related to family dynamics. Family atmosphere and disease opinion play a great role in mental disorder.
