ABSTRACT
ObjectiveIn recent years, with the intensification of environmental issues and the depletion of ozone layer, incidence of skin tumors has also significantly increased, becoming one of the major threats to people’s lives and health. However, due to factors such as high concealment in the early stage of skin tumors, unclear symptoms, and large human skin area, most cases are detected in the middle to late stage. Early detection plays a crucial role in postoperative survival of skin tumors, which can significantly improve the treatment and survival rates of patients. We proposed a rapid non-invasive electrical impedance detection method for early screening of skin tumors based on bioimpedance spectroscopy (BIS) technology. MethodsFirstly, we have established a complete skin stratification model, including stratum corneum, epidermis, dermis, and subcutaneous tissue. And the numerical analysis method was used to investigate the effect of dehydrated and dry skin stratum corneum on contact impedance in BIS measurement. Secondly, differentiation effect of different diameter skin tumor tissues was studied using a skin model after removing the stratum corneum. Then, in order to demonstrate that BIS technology can be used for detecting the microinvasion stage of skin tumors, we conducted a simulation study on the differentiation effect of skin tumors under different infiltration depths. Finally, in order to verify that the designed BIS detection system can distinguish between tumor microinvasion periods, we conducted tumor invasion experiments using hydrogel treated pig skin tissue. ResultsThe simulation results show that a dry and high impedance stratum corneum will bring about huge contact impedance, which will lead to larger measurement errors and affect the accuracy of measurement results. We extracted the core evaluation parameter of relaxed imaginary impedance (Zimag-relax) from the simulation results of the skin tumor model. When the tumor radius (Rtumor) and invasion depth (h)>1.5 mm, the designed BIS detection system can distinguish between tumor tissue and normal tissue. At the same time, in order to evaluate the degree of canceration in skin tissue, the degree of tissue lesion (εworse) is defined by the relaxed imaginary impedance (Zimag-relax) of normal and tumor tissue (εworse is the percentage change in virtual impedance of tumor tissue relative to that of normal tissue), and we fitted a Depth-Zimag-relax curve using relaxation imaginary impedance data at different infiltration depths, which can be applied to quickly determine the infiltration depth of skin tumors after being supplemented with a large amount of clinical data in the future. The experimental results proved that when εworse=0.492 0, BIS could identify microinvasive tumor tissue, and the fitting curve correction coefficient of determination was 0.946 8, with good fitting effect. The simulation using pig skin tissue correlated the results of real human skin simulation with the experimental results of pig skin tissue, proving the reliability of this study, and laying the foundation for further clinical research in the future. ConclusionOur proposed BIS method has the advantages of fast, real-time, and non-invasive detection, as well as high sensitivity to skin tumors, which can be identified during the stage of tumor microinvasion.

Objective To observe the effect of acupoint sticking therapy along meridians on gastrointestinal function recovery in patients after lumbar internal fixation surgery. Methods From January 2020 to March 2022,125 patients with lumbar degenerative diseases were admitted to our hospital's Department of Orthopaedics and divided into two groups:control(n = 62)and acupoint sticking therapy(n = 63).The control group received standard postoperative care for lumbar internal fixation, while the experimental group received routine care based on acupoint sticking therapy along meridians. The NVAS scores for postoperative nausea and vomiting, abdominal distension and pain, bowel sound, initial exhaust, and defecation time were compared between the two groups. Results Both groups experienced gastrointestinal problems to varied degrees following surgery. The experimental group had signifi-cantly lower rates of nausea,NVAS score, vomiting grade, abdominal distension, return to normal bowel sounds, and time of first exhaust and bowel movement compared to the control group(P<0.05).However,there were no significant differences in abdominal pain and abdominal circumference(P>0.05).There were no adverse reactions in either group. The incidence of postoperative abdominal distension, nausea and vomiting in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Acupoint sticking therapy along meridians could accelerate the recovery of gastrointestinal function of patients after lumbar internal fixation, promote rapid recovery after surgery, and improve quality of life.
ABSTRACT
Urorectal septum malformation sequence (URSMS) is a rare congenital complex malformation characterized by severe abnormalities in the urinary, reproductive and digestive systems. It is difficult to diagnose URSMS by prenatal ultrasound due to its complex and variable manifestations. This paper reported a twin with partial URSMS. Prenatal ultrasound findings included pelvic "trilobe" cystic masses, sacrococcygeal hemivertebral malformations, imperforate anus, and transient ascites. Postnatal examination confirmed the diagnosis of URSMS, as the baby girl was born with anal atresia. Her colon, urethra, and vagina converged and formed a common tract with a single perineal opening. The baby died after her parents' refusal to surgical treatment.
ABSTRACT
Objective: To evaluate the effect of inactivated SARS-CoV-2 vaccine on the clinical outcomes of patients infected with the Omicron variant. Methods: A total of 1 403 Omicron-infected patients admitted to 20 designated hospitals in Guangdong Province from January 1 to May 31, 2022, were selected as subjects in this study. A case-control study was conducted to collect the demographic data, underlying disease, vaccination status, last exposure date, gene sequencing of infected strains and clinical outcomes from the China Disease Prevention and Control Information System and Guangdong telemedicine platform. Pneumonia (common, severe and critical) and non-pneumonia (asymptomatic and mild) were selected as the case group and control group. The effect of inactivated SARS-CoV-2 vaccine on the clinical outcomes of patients infected with the Omicron variant was analyzed. Results: The median age [M (Q1, Q3)] of the subjects was 36 (27-47) years old, with males accounting for 52.25% (733 cases). The main outcome of the infection was non-pneumonia, accounting for 92.09% (1 292 cases), and the duration [M (Q1, Q3)] of the disease was 18 (14-22) days. There were 134 (9.55%), 39 (2.78%), 403 (28.72%), 437 (31.15%) and 390 (27.80%) cases with no or partial vaccination, within 90 days of primary vaccination, over 90 days of primary vaccination, within 90 days of booster vaccination and over 90 days of booster vaccination, respectively. Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that after adjusting for gender, age, underlying disease, and location of the report, compared with those with no or partial vaccination, the risk of developing pneumonia was lower in those with over 90 days of primary vaccination, within 90 days of booster vaccination and over 90 days of booster vaccination [OR (95%CI) values were 0.52 (0.28-0.98), 0.39 (0.21-0.73) and 0.40 (0.21-0.77), respectively]. Cox proportional hazard regression model analysis showed that after adjusting for gender, age, underlying disease and location of the report, the duration of the disease was shorter in those who received booster vaccinated for more than 90 days compared with that in those who had no or partial vaccination [HR (95%CI): 1.26 (1.03-1.55)]. Conclusion: The inactivated SARS-CoV-2 vaccine affects the clinical outcomes of patients infected with the Omicron variant.

OBJECTIVES@#With the increasing detection rate of lung nodules, the qualitative problem of lung nodules has become one of the key clinical issues. This study aims to evaluate the value of combining dynamic contrast-enhanced (DCE) MRI based on time-resolved imaging with interleaved stochastic trajectories-volume interpolated breath hold examination (TWIST-VIBE) with T1 weighted free-breathing star-volumetric interpolated breath hold examination (T1WI star-VIBE) in identifying benign and malignant lung nodules.@*METHODS@#We retrospectively analyzed 79 adults with undetermined lung nodules before the operation. All nodules of patients included were classified into malignant nodules (n=58) and benign nodules (n=26) based on final diagnosis. The unenhanced T1WI-VIBE, the contrast-enhanced T1WI star-VIBE, and the DCE curve based on TWIST-VIBE were performed. The corresponding qualitative [wash-in time, wash-out time, time to peak (TTP), arrival time (AT), positive enhancement integral (PEI)] and quantitative parameters [volume transfer constant (Ktrans), interstitium-to-plasma rate constant (Kep), and fractional extracellular space volume (Ve)] were evaluated. Besides, the diagnostic efficacy (sensitivity and specificity) of enhanced CT and MRI were compared.@*RESULTS@#There were significant differences in unenhanced T1WI-VIBE hypo-intensity, and type of A, B, C DCE curve type between benign and malignant lung nodules (all P<0.001). Pulmonary malignant nodules had a shorter wash-out time than benign nodules (P=0.001), and the differences of the remaining parameters were not statistically significant (all P>0.05). After T1WI star-VIBE contrast-enhanced MRI, the image quality was further improved. Compared with enhanced CT scan, the sensitivity (82.76% vs 80.50%) and the specificity (69.23% vs 57.10%) based on MRI were higher than that of CT (both P<0.001).@*CONCLUSIONS@#T1WI star-VIBE and dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI based on TWIST-VIBE were helpful to improve the image resolution and provide more information for clinical differentiation between benign and malignant lung nodules.

Objective To prove the feasibility of a Fogging Process in fixing high-concentration radioactive aerosol 131I contamination. Methods High-concentration radioactive aerosol 131I contamination in an 131I-operating glovebox for radiopharmaceutical production was disposed by using fogging and fixing process. The aerosol 131I concentrations were detected and the results were analyzed. Results After a 120 minutes fixing, the 131I contamination in this glovebox reduced from(289 ± 9) DAC and (304 ± 6) DAC to (21.7 ± 2.0) DAC and (26.2 ± 1.8) DAC. After a 180 minutes fixing, the 131I contamination in this glovebox reduced from (259 ± 10) DAC to (1.80 ± 0.18) DAC. These results showed that no aerosol 131I contamination was raised again after 24-hours finishing this task. Conclusion Aerosol 131I concentration in a limited space could be controlled by using a fogging and fixing process, which could reduce the risk of internal exposure of staff. This process could be used by radiopharmaceutical production as an emergency management for dispose high-concentration radioactive aerosol 131I contamination.
ABSTRACT

This consensus report provides a brief account of the concept, methodology and implementation of MIPD as well as clinical decision supporting systems for MIPD. The status and future advancing of MIPD was also discussed to facilitate the appropriate application and development of MIPD in China.
ABSTRACT
Following small molecules and monoclonal antibodies, oligonucleotides are expected to overcome the rare and refractory human diseases. It has been attracted the attention of the pharmaceutical industry since the approval of six oligonucleotides in recent years because of their unique mechanism of regulating disease gene transcription at the RNA level. As a new class of drug molecules, oligonucleotides are highly polar, charged, and need to be improved by means of chemical modification and drug delivery systems. And therefore, they have different clinical pharmacology properties compared with chemical molecules and monoclonal antibodies, which pose new challenges for early clinical development. This paper reviews the characteristics of oligonucleotides from the perspective of technological development, mechanism of action, human pharmacokinetics, efficacy and safety.
ABSTRACT
Objective To analyze the characteristics of nerve damage in diabetic peripheral neuropathy by ultrasound and neuroelectrophysiological techniques and provide a basis for early diagnosis and treatment of diabetic peripheral neuropathy. Methods From January 2016 to May 2018, 225 patients with type 2 diabetes admitted to the hospital were divided into DPN group (110 cases) and non-diabetic peripheral neuropathy (NDPN) group (115 cases),and 120 healthy volunteers were as controls. Ultrasound and nerve conduction velocity(NCV) were used to analyze the characteristics of nerve damage in diabetic peripheral neuropathy(DPN). Results Among the three study groups, the sensory nerves conduction velocity and motor nerves conduction velocity of the ulnar nerve, median nerve, and common peroneal nerve were significantly reduced in the DPN group. But in the same group, the ulnar nerve, median nerve, and common peroneal nerve cross-sectional area (CSA) was significantly increased [(8.68 ± 1.89) mm2 vs. (6.79 ± 1.69) and (5.82 ± 1.57) mm2, (10.59 ± 1.82) mm2 vs. (7.98 ± 1.97) and (7.25 ± 1.71) mm2, (21.24 ± 2.53 )mm2 vs. (16.54 ± 2.49) and (15.40 ± 2.20) mm2]. In the measurement of sensory nerve conduction velocity, the abnormalities of ulnar nerve, median nerve and common peroneal nerve were significantly higher than thoseof motor nerve [34.54%(38/110) vs. 18.18%(20/110), 36.36% (40/110)vs. 20.90% (23/110), 52.72% (58/110) vs. 20.00% (22/110)]. In ultrasound and SCV, the proportion of ulnar nerve and median nerve injury was higher in patients aged 45 years or older or patients over 10 years of course (P<0.05). The proportion of median nerve injury was higher in patients with larger MAGE (P < 0.05). In the abnormal performance of ultrasound: the proportion of abnormal ulnar nerve, median nerve and common peroneal nerve in patients with large MAGE was significantly higher than that in patients with small MAGE (P<0.05); the results of ultrasound measurement of CSA showed that the ulnar nerve, median nerve and common peroneal nerve thickening were more obvious in patients with MAGE>4 mmol/L. Conclusions DPN affects sensory nerves first, and the proportion of injury is significantly higher than that of motor nerves; lower limb nerves are more susceptible to damage, compared with upper limb nerves; patients aged 45 years or older or patients with course over 10 years have a higher proportion of ulnar nerve and median nerve damage; patients with larger MAGE (>4 mmol/L) have a higher proportion of median nerve damage. The characteristics above can provide an effective basis for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of DPN.

ABSTRACT
This study was carried out to investigate the pharmacokinetics/bioequivalence of levornidazole disodium phosphate by using stable isotope labeled drug, evaluated the pharmacokinetic profile and confirmed the prodrug characteristics of levornidazole disodium phosphate in monkey. Levornidazole (Drug A) and stable isotope 15N labeled levornidazole disodium phosphate (Drug B) were mixed with equal mole amount (experiment I); stable isotope 15N labeled levornidazole disodium phosphate (Drug B) and levornidazole disodium phosphate (Drug C) were mixed with equal mole amount, respectively. After giving the mixed drugs to the monkey, the concentration of 15N-levornidazole disodium phosphate, levornidazole disodium phosphate, 15N-levornidazole and levornidazole in plasma samples of pre-dosing and 24 h after administration were analyzed by a liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry/mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) method. Pharmacokinetic calculations were performed through non-compartmental analysis using WinNonlin software. Two-sided 90% confidence intervals (CI) were used to evaluate the bioequivalence of two drugs. The results showed that levornidazole disodium phosphate was metabolized to levornidazole rapidly after administration, the body exposure were increased with the dosage. The method of bioequivalence used in this study was different from the traditional two periods, crossover design. By using the method of this study, the effects of administration period, intra-individual variability, and sequence of administration on bioequivalence were avoided. The results of this study had successfully supported the pharmacokinetic and bioequivalence study of this drug in human using the same approach.
ABSTRACT
Aim To investigate the anti-proliferation effect of honokial on human colon cancer cells HCT116 and the possible mechanism. Methods Crystal stai-ning and flow cytometry assay were introduced to test the proliferation inhibitory and cell cycle arrested effect of honokial on HCT116 cells. Western blot was used to analyse the expression of PCNA and induction effect of apoptosis. Western blot and PCR assay were conducted to assess the change of BMP7. Via exogenous adenovi-ruses of BMP7 and its antibody combined with honoki-al,crystal violet staining and Western blot were used to analyse the effect on HCT116 cells. Results Honoki-al inhibited the growth of HCT116 in a time-and con- centration-dependent way, induced apoptosis and arres-ted at G2 phase; Western blot assay showed honokial up-regulated the level of PCNA and BMP7,and down-regulated the expression of Bcl-2; Western blot result also showed that exogenous adenoviruses of BMP7 en-hanced the effect of honokial on proliferation inhibition and apoptosis, while BMP7 antibody reversed such effects of honokial. Conclusion Honokial can inhibit the proliferation and induce apoptosis on HCT116 cells, which may be mediated by the up-regulation of BMP7.

Objective@#To evaluate the population immunity to measles and explore the factors associated with measles susceptibility in Yunnan residents aged ≥20 years.@*Methods@#2 689 residents aged ≥20 years were selected by multistage stratified systematic randomized sampling in 252 villages of 42 counties in Yunnan Province between June and September in 2015. Each subject was surveyed by the same questionnaire, including general information, measles contained vaccine history, measles history, and 5 ml blood sample of each subject was collected. Serum IgG antibodies against measles virus were measured by ELISA. Positive was defined as the antibody concentration ≥250 mU/ml, and negative as <250 mU/ml. Non-conditional logistic regression model was used analyze the factors associated with measles susceptibility in adults.@*Results@#Among 2 689 subjects, 1 214 were males (45.15%), and the overall positive rate of measles IgG antibody was 89.77%. Compared with subjects from the region where economic development was low, subjects from the region where economic development was moderate were likely to be susceptible to measles virus (OR=1.81, 95%CI: 1.33-2.47). Four age groups had higher risk of being susceptible to measles virus (compared with ≥40 years: 20-24 years old, OR=2.04, 95%CI: 1.26-3.31; 25-29 years old, OR=3.72, 95%CI: 2.37-5.86; 30-34 years old, OR=1.94, 95%CI: 1.22-3.09; 35-39 years old, OR=1.81, 95%CI: 1.07-3.05).@*Conclusion@#Our results suggest that the serological susceptibility in adults (20-39 years), especially adults from the regions where the economic development was moderate, should be concerned. The additional vaccination strategy targeting young adults is important for reducing the risk of measles infection.
ABSTRACT
This article introduces the combined application of vacuum sealing drainage (VSD) and chymotrypsin in the treatment of post-operative mandibular osteomyelitis. The lesion was washed by chymotrypsin (4000U) and saline (500 ml). VSD is effective in the treatment of traumatic mandibular osteomyelitis. This study investigates the effect of VSD combined with chymotrypsin in the treatment of patients with osteomyelitis after mandibular trauma. It is proved that it has a good effect in ensuring drainage, controlling infection and retaining internal fixation, and can create a good environment for fracture healing.
ABSTRACT
Under the traditional “empirical trial design”,innovative drug development cannot make comprehensive use of the existing information from previous studies. The development efficiency is low.And it is easy to cause safety issues. Therefore,it is particularly necessary to explore and establish new models, more efficient and safer strategies for the clinical development of innovative drugs. In recent years, the “knowledgeable” clinical research strategy for new drug has been proposed and practiced by the FDA and EMEA.It employed the model and the simulation technology to quantitatively analyze and predict exposure/response relationships of innovative drug and its influence factors in patients. It helped in obtaining sufficient information from clinical data at the same time,to minimize the required number of subjects, and to ensure the safety of subjects in clinical trials.
