ABSTRACT

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is a method of breathing pure oxygen or high-concentration oxygen in a highpressure environment to treat hypoxic diseases and related diseases. According to clinical verification, this therapy has an irreplaceable effect on certain diseases and has gradually become a comprehensive clinical treatment. One of the main methods of certain diseases is widely recognized by the medical field at home and abroad. The development history, treatment principles, key technologies, and future development trends of hyperbaric oxygen are discussed in detail, provide a research direction for the development of hyperbaric oxygen therapy in the future, and at the same time, it has also improved physicians' awareness of hyperbaric oxygen therapy, so as to improving Industry influence.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE@#To analyze the change of serum C1q in the course of multiple myeloma (MM) and its correlation with clinical characteristics.@*METHODS@#A total of 138 newly diagnosed MM patients in Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University from June 2016 to December 2019 were selected as research objects, during the same period 50 age-matched anemia patients, 50 lymphoma patients, 50 leukemia patients, and 50 myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) patients were selected as control groups. All the patients met WHO disease classification, and were definitely diagnosed by pathology or bone marrow smear/biopsy. The changes of C1q between MM patients and control group, as well as in different therapeutic responses of MM patients before and after treatment were compared, also the difference of clinical characteristics among MM patients with different C1q level, so as to analyze risk factors which led to C1q decline.@*RESULTS@#The average value of C1q in MM patients was (128.18±51.24) mg/L, which was significantly lower than control group (P<0.01). The levels of white blood cell, platelet (PLT), hemoglobin (Hb), serum calcium, albumin, lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) in newly diagnosed high C1q group were significantly higher than those in low C1q group (P<0.05). Logistic analysis showed that the levels of PLT, Hb, albumin, and LDH in newly diagnosed high C1q group were higher than those in low C1q group (r=0.248, r=0.394, r=0.405, r=0.295). After treatment, the levels of C1q in MM patients with complete remission and very good partial remission were significantly higher than before treatment (P<0.05), while those with partial remission and stable disease also increased but not significantly (P>0.05).@*CONCLUSION@#The C1q level in MM patients is significantly lower than that in patients with other hematologic system diseases, and it increases with the remission of the disease after treatment.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE@#To conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses of Tripterygium hypoglaucum in Yinning Tablets, a compound preparation of traditional Chinese herbal medicine.@*METHODS@#Thin-layer chromatography (TLC) was used for qualitative analysis of Tripterygium hypoglaucum in Yining Tablets and the analytical protocols were optimized. High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) was used to quantitatively analyze the content of triptolide (the main active ingredient of Tripterygium hypoglaucum) in Yinning Tablets.@*RESULTS@#The results of TLC analysis showed that the test sample of Yinning Tablets and the positive control samples both produced clear, well separated spots without obvious interference in the blank samples. Assessment of the influences of the thin-layer plates from different manufacturers, temperature and humidity on the test results demonstrated good durability of the test. HPLC analysis of triptolide showed a good linear relationship within the concentration range of 1-100 μg/mL (regression equation: A=22.219C-19.165, r=0.9999); the contents of triptolide in 3 batches of Yinning tablets were 0.34, 0.34, and 0.28 μg per tablet, all within the range of 0.28-0.34 μg per tablet. It was finally determined that each Yinning tablet should not contain more than 0.6 μg of triptolide.@*CONCLUSION@#TLC and HPLC are simple, accurate, durable and specific for qualitative and quantitative analyses of Tripterygium hypoglaucum in Yinning Tablets.

ABSTRACT

ObjectiveTo investigate the effect and mechanism of Guilu Erxiangao on Alzheimer's disease (AD) model rats induced by hydrocortisone and amyloid β-protein(Aβ) based on the theory of kidney-brain correlation. MethodIntraperitoneal injection of hydrocortisone and intracerebroventricular injection of Aβ were performed to induce AD in rats, and different concentrations of Guilu Erxiangao were used for intervention. The indexes of hippocampus, kidney and adrenal gland were measured, and the spatial learning and memory ability of AD rats was observed by Morris water maze experiment. The levels of testosterone (T) and corticosterone (CORT) in serum samples were determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) was used to collect and analyze the serum metabolic data of model rats. The active components and corresponding targets of Guilu Erxiangao were collected using Traditional Chinese Medicine Systems Pharmacology Database and Analysis Platform(TCMSP), a Bioinformatics Analysis Tool for Molecular mechANism of Traditional Chinese Medicine (BATMAN-TCM) and Traditional Chinese Medicine Integrated Database(TCMID). GeneCards and Online Mendelian Inheritance in Man (OMIM) were retrieved to obtain AD-related targets, and protein-protein interaction (PPI) network was constructed to perform gene ontology (GO)and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) enrichment analysis. The expression level of interleukin-6 (IL-6) in the hippocampus of rats was detected by Western blot. ResultCompared with the model group, the low-, medium- and high-dose groups of Guilu Erxiangao exhibited significantly increased hippocampus index, kidney index and adrenal gland index, reduced CORT levels in serum and down-regulated IL-6 levels in hippocampal tissues. According to the results of water maze experiment, as compared with the model group, the platform crossing times of rats was significantly increased in the low- and high-dose groups of Guilu Erxiangao, with evidently prolonged distance traveled in quadrant Ⅲ (%) and time in quadrant Ⅲ (%). A total of 24 serum differential metabolites associated with AD were identified by LC-MS, and 50 high-frequency common compounds and 187 high-frequency common targets for AD treatment were screened by network pharmacology method. Results demonstrated phosphatidylinositol 3-kinases(PI3K)/protein kinase B(Akt) signaling pathway plays an important role in the complex AD pathological mechanism. ConclusionGuilu Erxiangao can significantly improve the cognitive dysfunction of AD model rats induced by hydrocortisone and Aβ, reduce serum CORT levels and IL-6 levels in hippocampal tissues, and regulate the metabolic level, which provides a reference for its clinical application.

ABSTRACT

ObjectiveTo explore the role of transient receptor potential vanilloid 1 (TRPV1) channel in reducing cardiomyocyte toxicity of Aconiti Kusnezoffii Radix processed with Chebulae Fructus. MethodH9c2 cardiomyocytes cultured in vitro were used as a model to assess cell viability by methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium (MTT) assay, the expression of TRPV1 mRNA was detected by real-time fluorescence quantitative polymerase chain reaction (Real-time PCR), and the leakage rate of lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), the changes of nucleus, reactive oxygen species (ROS), mitochondrial membrane potential and Ca2+ contents were detected by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ResultCompared with the blank group, when the concentration was ≥0.5 g·L-1, the cell viability was significantly decreased (P<0.01), the leakage rate of LDH, the release of ROS and Ca2+ were increased, the mitochondrial membrane potential was decreased, and the nucleus was pyknosis or even broken in raw Aconiti Kusnezoffii Radix and Aconiti Kusnezoffii Radix processed with Chebulae Fructus groups. When the concentration was ≥0.5 g·L-1, compared with the same mass concentration of raw Aconiti Kusnezoffii Radix group, the cell viability increased significantly (P<0.01), the leakage rate of LDH, the release of ROS and Ca2+ decreased, the mitochondrial membrane potential increased, and the nuclear morphology improved in Aconiti Kusnezoffii Radix processed with Chebulae Fructus group. Application of the same mass concentration of raw Aconiti Kusnezoffii Radix to H9c2 cardiomyocytes pretreated with the TRPV1 inhibitor BCTC significantly increased cell viability, decreased leakage rate of LDH, ROS and Ca2+ release, increased mitochondrial membrane potential and improved nuclear pyknosis compared with untreated H9c2 cardiomyocytes. Application of the same mass concentration of Aconiti Kusnezoffii Radix processed with Chebulae Fructus to H9c2 cardiomyocytes pretreated with BCTC decreased cell viability, increased LDH leakage rate, ROS and Ca2+ release, reduced mitochondrial membrane potential compared with untreated H9c2 cardiomyocytes. Real-time PCR results showed that both raw Aconiti Kusnezoffii Radix and Chebulae Fructus decoction could increase the expression of TRPV1 mRNA in cardiomyocytes in a concentration dependent manner. ConclusionRaw Aconiti Kusnezoffii Radix can induce cardiomyocyte apoptosis and cardiotoxicity by activating TRPV1 channel, while Aconiti Kusnezoffii Radix processed with Chebulae Fructus can attenuate the toxicity through TRPV1 channel, which may be related to the synergistic effect of acid components in Chebulae Fructus and alkaloids in Aconiti Kusnezoffii Radix on TRPV1 channel.

ABSTRACT

AIM:To evaluate the accuracy of A-ultrasound combined with corneal topography measurement in clinical application by analyzing the ocular-related biometric parameters and refractive error and comparing with those of IOL Master 700 in cataract patients. METHODS: A prospective study. Clinical data were collected from 113 patients(122 eyes)who underwent phacoemulsification in the First Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University from July 2020 to July 2021. The axial length(AL), anterior chamber depth(ACD), lens thickness(LT)and corneal curvature(Km)were measured respectively by IOL Master 700 and A-ultrasound combined with corneal topography measurement and the 3mo after the surgery of the refractive error was analyzed.RESULTS: There were differences in AL(24.09±1.65, 23.81±1.62mm), ACD(3.11±0.42, 2.97±0.43mm)and Km(44.12±1.59, 44.06±1.54D)measured by IOL Master 700 and A-ultrasound combined with corneal topography(P<0.05), while there was no difference in LT(4.34±0.46, 4.30±0.59mm)(P>0.05). The postoperative mean absolute refractive error(MAE)of intraocular lens(IOL)diopter calculation formulas with different measurement methods was significantly different(P<0.001). The Barrett Universal II formula MAE of the IOL Master 700 measuring instrument was different from the Holladay I, Haigis and SRK/T formulas(P<0.01), at the same time, compared with the A-ultrasound combined with corneal topography calculation formula SRK/T and Barrett Universal II formula, they were also different(P<0.01). However, there was no difference among the Holladay Ⅰ, Haigis, SRK/T formula MAE which come from the IOL Master 700 measuring instrument and the A-ultrasound combined with corneal topography calculation formula SRK/T formula(P>0.05). In addition, the Barrett Universal II formula of the IOL Master 700 measuring instrument has the smallest median absolute refractive error(MedAE)(0.260D), and the A-ultrasound combined with corneal topography calculation formula Barrett Universal II formula MedAE is the largest(0.765D).CONCLUSION: The values of AL, ACD and Km measured by A-ultrasound combined with corneal topography were smaller than those of IOL Master 700. When the SRK/T formula was used to calculate the IOL diopter, the results of the two group were similar. However, when using the Barrett Universal Ⅱ formula, the refractive error of the A-ultrasound combined with corneal topography group was large, resulting in hyperopia drift.

ABSTRACT

Peutz-Jeghers syndrome (PJS) presents in early childhood, and children have a higher risk of intussusception due to a smaller abdominal space than adults. Double-balloon enteroscopy (DBE) has been proven to be a safe and effective method for the diagnosis and treatment of small bowel lesions, but the efficacy and safety of its prophylactic polypectomy in children with PJS need to be determined. Data of 6 children (median age 10.6 years) diagnosed as having PJS from 2018 to 2020 were reviewed. DBE was performed 14 times, and 3 children were successfully relieved of intussusception after DBE treatment. The sizes of the resected intussusception polyps were 50 mm×60 mm, 40 mm×35 mm, and 50 mm×40 mm. Symptoms associated with polyps (abdominal pain, intussusception and obstruction) relieved after DBE in all children. No direct complications such as bleeding or perforation were found during the operation, and no recurrence of intussusception was found during follow-up. It can be seen that DBE polypectomy is safe and effective in the treatment of intussusception caused by PJS.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To explore the effect of intraspinal labor analgesia on labor progress, maternal and infant outcomes.Methods:Two hundred cases of full-term singleton primiparous women in head position admitted to the Second Affiliated Hospital of Shantou University Medical College from March 2019 to March 2020 were selected as the research subjects. According to the random number table method, they were divided into the control group (100 cases, natural delivery) and the analgesia group (100 cases, analgesia delivery). The visual analoguescore (VAS), progress of labor, and the outcome of delivery between the two groups werecompared.Results:The VAS scores of the analgesic group at 10, 30 and 60 min after analgesia were lower than those in the control group: (1.30 ± 0.17) scores vs. (9.50 ± 0.53) scores, (0.50 ± 0.22) scores vs. (9.50 ± 0.16) scores, (0.40 ± 0.28) scores vs. (9.50 ± 0.34) scores, the differences were statistically significant ( P<0.05). The first stage of labor in the analgesia group was longer than that in the control group: (347.6 ± 54.4) min vs. (325.8 ± 58.5) min; but the active stage, the second stage of labor, the third stage of labor and the total duration of labor in the analgesia group were shorter than those in the control group: (184.3 ± 39.5) min vs. (202.9 ± 42.7) min, (57.8 ± 17.9) min vs. (85.3 ± 16.9) min, (7.7 ± 5.0) min vs. (16.3 ± 5.2) min, (503.6 ± 131.4) min vs. (596.5 ± 175.7) min, the differences were statistically significant ( P<0.05). The 2 h and 24 h postpartum hemorrhage in the analgesia group were significantly lower than those in the control group: (223.64 ± 80.34) ml vs. (276.97 ± 82.35) ml, (331.57 ± 92.47) ml vs. (384.59 ± 94.25) ml, the differences were statistically significant ( P<0.05). The rate of normal delivery and the use of oxytocin in the analgesia group were higher than those in the control group: 91.0%(91/100) vs. 75.0%(75/100), 83.0%(83/100) vs. 49.0% (49/100), the differences were statistically significant ( P<0.05). In the newborn Apgar scores, the muscle tension, pulse, reflex response, respiration score and total score in the analgesia group were significantly higher than those in the control group ( P<0.05). The neonatal distress in the analgesia group was lower than that in the control group: 4.0%(4/100) vs. 15.0%(15/100), the difference was statistically significant ( P<0.05). Conclusions:Intravertebral labor analgesia can shorten the time of parturient delivery, reduce postpartum hemorrhage, improve the Apgar score of newborns, increase the pregnancy rate, and improve maternal and infant outcome.

ABSTRACT

The multiplicity of epidemiological scenarios shown by Chagas Disease, derived from multiple transmission routes of the aetiological agent, occurring on multiple geo-ecobiosocial settings determines the complexity of the disease and reveal the difficulties for its control. From the first description of the link between the parasite, the vector and its domestic habitat and the disease that Carlos Chagas made in 1909, the epidemiological scenarios of the American Trypanosomiasis has shown a dynamic increasing complexity. These scenarios changed with time and geography because of new understandings of the disease from multiple studies, because of policies change at the national and international levels and because human movements brought the parasite and vectors to new geographies. Paradigms that seemed solid at a time were broken down, and we learnt about the global dispersion of Trypanosoma cruzi infection, the multiplicity of transmission routes, that the infection can be cured, and that triatomines are not only a health threat in Latin America. We consider the multiple epidemiological scenarios through the different T. cruzi transmission routes, with or without the participation of a Triatominae vector. We then consider the scenario of regions with vectors without the parasite, to finish with the consideration of future prospects.

ABSTRACT

Objective@#To explore whether psychological stress in early and mid puberty is predictive of adolescent healthrisk behaviors.@*Methods@#In April 2018, a total of 1 046 primary and secondary school students from grade 5 to 8 were recruited through purposive sampling. The basic information and psychological stress of the respondents were collected by questionnaire and physical examination. In addition, self reports of health risk behaviors were collected in October 2018. Logistic multiple regression analysis was used to analyze the relationship between psychological stress and health risk behaviors of adolescents.@*Results@#The reported health risk behaviors of the surveyed adolescents ranking from high to low were unreasonable physical activity (62.05%), food preferences (24.76%), fighting (21.03%), suicidal ideation (17.02%), ideation of running away from home (9.85%), low mood (8.80%), smoking (4.21%), drinking (3.73%), gambling (3.63%) and internet addiction (3.06%). Logistic multiple regression analysis showed that the high level of psychological stress was a risk factor for fighting ( OR =1.02, 95% CI =1.01-1.03), suicidal ideation ( OR =1.02, 95% CI =1.01-1.03), low mood ( OR =1.02, 95% CI =1.01-1.03), ideation of running away from home ( OR =1.02, 95% CI =1.01-1.03), unreasonable physical activity ( OR =1.01, 95% CI =1.00-1.02), smoking ( OR =1.02, 95% CI = 1.00-1.03), internet addiction ( OR =1.02, 95% CI =1.00-1.03), food preferences ( OR =1.01, 95% CI = 1.00-1.02) and gambling ( OR =1.02, 95% CI =1.01-1.04)( P <0.05).@*Conclusion@#Unreasonable physical activity and food preferences are most common health risk behaviors among adolescents. Psychological stress during early to middle puberty is predictive of adolescent health risk behaviors.

AIM: To measure the changes of ocular biological parameters before and after phacoemulsification, and compared the choice of intraocular lens(IOL)power calculation formulas based on the new optical biometric instrument IOL Master 700.METHODS: A prospective study. Clinical data were collected from 52 patients(57 eyes)with cataract at the First Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University from January to June 2021. The axial length(AL), anterior chamber depth(ACD)and corneal curvature(Km)were measured and analyzed before and 3mo after phacoemulsification by IOL Master 700. The target refractive value reserved in the calculation of different IOL formulas and the actual refractive value of the automatic refractor 3mo after phacoemulsification were compared and statistically analyzed.RESULTS: The average values of AL measured before and after phacoemulsification were 24.20±1.86, 24.09±1.86mm, the postoperative AL shortened by 0.11mm, and the ACD values were 3.08±0.44, 4.55±0.36mm(P&#x003C;0.001), ACD deepened by 1.49mm after phacoemulsification. The Km values were 44.14±1.86, 44.14±1.82D(P&#x003E;0.05). The refractive error of the results measured by the Barrett Universal Ⅱ formula was the smallest before operation, followed by Holladay Ⅱ and the SRK/T formula, the Holladay Ⅰ formula had the largest error and the difference was statistically significant(P&#x003C;0.05). CONCLUSION: The AL was shortened and the ACD was deepened after phacoemulsification. A correction factor of 0.1mm is suggested to add when calculating the degree. The Barrett Universal Ⅱ formula has the best predictability in the IOL power calculation formulas, follow by Holladay Ⅱ and SRK/T formula.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To investigate the efficacy of descending aortic translocation in relieving the compression of trachea or bronchus caused by aortic deformity.Methods:From January 2017 to July 2019, a total of 11 patients with distal trachea or proximal bronchial stenosis caused by aortic deformity were treated with descending aortic translocation. Cardiac CT and fiberoptic bronchoscopy were performed before surgery. The median age was 55(23-540) days, and the body weight was 4(2.1-9.0)kg. Five patients had a special type of vascular ring(left aortic arch with right descending aorta, small aortic window with funnel chest; left aortic arch with right descending aorta and right artery ligament, vagus right subclavian artery, combined with trachea, carina and left and right bronchial stenosis in 1 case; Right aortic arch with left descending aorta, combined with tracheomalacia stenosis in 1 case; Right aortic arch with left descending aorta combined with broad tracheal stenosis and left pulmonary dysplasia in 1 case) compressed tracheal or bronchial tube in 5 cases. Three patients with left main bronchus constriction after traditional arch disconnection surgery. 3 patients with left main bronchus stenosis before coarctation or interrupted aortic arch.Surgical methods: Descending aortic translocation was performed through a midline sternotomy with cardiopulmonary bypass and deep hypothermia.The proximal descending aorta was transected distal to the left subclavian artery, proximal sutures were performed, and the distal brought up though the transverse sinus caudad to the right pulmonary artery and tracheal carina, and anastomosed in end-to-end fashion to the ascending aorta, and simultaneous correction was performed with intracardiac malformations, such as airway plasty was performed at the same time without improvement after compression of tracheal stenosis.Results:There was no death in the whole group. Median cardiopulmonary bypass was 180(136-337)min with an median aortic cross-clamp time of 51(30-84)min; Median absence of perfusion to the descending thoracic aorta 34(21-50)min .Tracheal compression was effectively relieved in 5 patients, and airway plasty was performed simultaneously in 6 patients due to persistent tracheal softening and stenosis. All patients had resolution of symptoms.There was only one case anastomotic stenosis after descending aortic translocation.The mean follow-up was(18.0±9.4)months.Conclusion:Descending aortic translocation can effectively relieve this kind of pressure due to aortic deformity.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To explore the role of interleukin (IL)-9 and other T helper (Th) cell-related cytokines in the pathogenesis of acute anterior uveitis.Methods:A cross-sectional study was conducted.Thirty-six patients (36 eyes) with acute anterior uveitis who were treated at Gansu Provincial Hospital from May 2018 to May 2019 and 40 matched healthy subjects (40 eyes) who had no eye diseases or systemic diseases in the same period were enrolled as the acute anterior uveitis group and healthy control group, respectively.The disease severity of the subjects in the acute anterior uveitis group was graded and the subjects were divided into mild, moderate and severe groups according to the grading.Serum of all subjects was collected to determine the concentration of serum IL-9, IL-17, transforming growth factor-β 1 (TGF-β 1), interferon-γ (IFN-γ), IL-4, IL-35 and IL-22 by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method.Spearman rank correlation analysis was used to evaluate the relationship between IL-9 concentration and other Th cell-related cytokines.This study adhered to the Declaration of Helsinki.The study protocol was approved by an Ethics Committee of Gansu Provincial Hospital (No.2019-204). Written informed consent was obtained from each subject prior to any medical examination. Results:The serum levels of IL-9, IFN-γ, IL-4, TGF-β 1, IL-35 and IL-22 in the acute anterior uveitis group were significantly higher than those in the healthy control group, and the differences were statistically significant (all at P<0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in the concentration of IL-17 between the two groups ( U=704.500, P=0.872). The IL-9 concentration of patients with acute anterior uveitis in the mild, moderate and severe groups was 57.24 (47.47, 65.10), 71.68 (67.55, 78.91) and 114.01 (74.78, 139.30) ng/L, respectively, and the overall difference was statistically significant ( Z=8.766, P=0.012), and the IL-9 concentration of the mild group and the moderate group was significantly lower than that of the severe group (both at P<0.05). The concentration of IL-9 in the patients with acute anterior uveitis was positively correlated with the concentration of IL-17, TGF-β 1 and IL-35 ( rs=0.449, 0.517, 0.400; all at P<0.05), and no significant correlations were found between the concentration of IL-9 and the concentration of IFN-γ, IL-4 and IL-22 ( rs=0.293, 0.286, 0.316; all at P>0.05). Conclusions:IL-9 plays a role in promoting the immune inflammatory response in the occurrence and development of acute anterior uveitis, and it is closely related to Th17 and Treg cell-related cytokines (TGF-β 1, IL-35).

ABSTRACT

Objective:To systematically evaluate the rate of unplanned readmissions for children at 30 days after cardiac surgery, the causes and risk factors for unplanned readmissions for children at 30 days after cardiac surgery.Methods:We searched PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, CBM, CNKI, Wanfang Data, and VIP database to collect studies from inception to August 15, 2020 of unplanned readmission of children after cardiac surgery.RevMan5.3 software was used for Meta-analysis.Results:A total of 13 studies, involving 81 633 patients were included.Meta-analysis results showed that the unplanned readmission rate of children 30 days after cardiac surgery was 11.5%(95% CI 9.9%-13%). Cardiac complications[24%(95% CI 10.7%-45.7%)], infections[18.7%(95% CI 13.7%-25.3%)], respiratory complications[18.0%(95% CI 10.7%-27.5%)], pleural effusion[11.5%(95% CI 8.3%-16.7%)], and gastrointestinal complications[12.3%(95% CI 8.3%-17.4%)] were the main reasons for unplanned 30-day readmission, with statistically significant differences( P<0.001). Genetic syndrome( OR=1.25, 95% CI 1.18-1.33, P<0.05) and postoperative hospital stay >14 days( OR=1.62, 95% CI 1.05-2.50, P<0.05) were risk factors for unplanned 30-day readmission. Conclusion:The incidence rate of unplanned readmission among the children 30 days after cardiac surgery is relatively high.Cardiac complications, infection, respiratory complications, pleural effusion, and gastrointestinal complications are the main reasons for 30-day unplanned readmission.The genetic syndrome and postoperative hospital stay >14 days in children 30 days after cardiac surgery are the risk factors for unplanned readmission.

Objective:To observe the effect of Jianpi Xiaoai prescription on long non-coding RNA Hox transcript antisense intergenic RNA (lncRNA HOTAIR)/Janus kinase 2 (JAK2) /signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3) signaling pathway and to explore the potential mechanism of Jianpi Xiaoai prescription in suppressing the metastasis of colon cancer. Method:The expression of lncRNA HOTAIR in different cells was analyzed. Following the treatment of HCT116 cells with 10%,15%,and 20% Jianpi Xiaoai prescription -containing serum, the invasive ability of Jianpi Xiaoai prescription on HCT116 cells was assessed by transwell assay. The mRNA expression levels of lncRNA HOTAIR,JAK2,and STAT3 were measured by Real-time polymerase chain reaction (Real-time PCR), and the protein expression levels of JAK2, phosphorylated STAT3 (p-STAT3) and STAT3 by Western blot. Result:The highest expression of lncRNA HOTAIR was detected in HCT116 cells. Compared with the blank group, each Jianpi Xiaoai prescription group exhibited a decreased number of invasive cells (<italic>P</italic><0.05, <italic>P</italic><0.01). The relative JAK2 mRNA expression in the middle-dose Jianpi Xiaoai prescription group was down-regulated (<italic>P</italic><0.05), and the relative lncRNA HOTAIR mRNA expression in the middle- and high-dose Jianpi Xiaoai prescription groups and the relative JAK2 mRNA expression in the high-dose Jianpi Xiaoai prescription group were remarkably down-regulated (<italic>P</italic><0.01). Compared with the blank group,the relative p-STAT3 protein expression was down-regulated in the middle-dose Jianpi Xiaoai prescription group (<italic>P</italic><0.05), and the relative JAK2 protein expression in the middle- and high-dose Jianpi Xiaoai prescription groups and the relative p-STAT3 protein expression in the high-dose Jianpi Xiaoai prescription group were remarkably down-regulated (<italic>P</italic><0.01). Conclusion:Jianpi Xiaoai prescription effectively inhibits the metastasis of colon cancer cells, which may be related to the inhibition of lncRNA HOTAIR/JAK2/STAT3 signaling pathway.

@#Objective    To explore the application value of synchronous CT-guided percutaneous biopsy followed by radiofrequency ablation in the diagnosis and treatment of lung tumors. Methods    The clinical data of 21 patients with lung tumors were retrospectively analyzed. There were 8 males and 13 females aged 68 (51, 73) years. A total of 24 lesions underwent CT-guided percutaneous biopsy and concurrent radiofrequency ablation. The effectiveness and safety of this protocol were analyzed. Results    All 21 patients successfully completed the procedures. The diameter of 24 lesions was 17.0 (13.3, 19.0) mm. Biopsy specimens met the requirements of pathological diagnosis, and the effectiveness of specimens was 100.0%. The incidence of small amount of pneumothorax/pleural shrinkage after procedures was 19.0% (4/21) and the incidence of tension pneumothorax was 4.7% (1/21). There was no obvious bleeding or other complications. Conclusion    Synchronous CT-guided percutaneous biopsy followed by radiofrequency ablation combines two interventional techniques, which is safe and effective in the diagnosis and treatment of lung tumors, and it is worthy of popularization and application in clinic.

Most individuals with B. hominis infections have no apparent clinical symptoms; however, a few patients, notably those with co-infections or impaired immune system function may present abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and even death. This paper reviews the co-infections of B. hominis and other pathogens and comorbidity of B. hominis infections and other diseases, so as to provide insights into the management of B. hominis infections.

ABSTRACT

ObjectiveTo investigate the effect of amitriptyline on lipid deposition and biochemical metabolism in a cell model of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) by regulating the acid sphingomyelinase (ASM)/ceramide (CE) pathway. MethodsHepG2 and L02 cells were cultured in vitro to establish a cell model of NAFLD. MTT colorimetry was used to measure cell proliferation rate, and oil red O staining was used to observe the change of lipid droplets in cells. In the experiment, the cells were divided into normal control group, model group, Ami group, TNFα group, and Ami+TNFα group. An automatic biochemical analyzer was used to measure the levels of triglyceride (TG) and total cholesterol (TC) in cells and the levels of alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and aspartate aminotransferase (AST) in supernatant; ELISA was used to measure the levels of CE and ASM in cells; Western blot was used to measure the protein expression ASM in cells, and RT-PCR was used to measure the mRNA expression of ASM in cells. A one-way analysis of variance was used for comparison of continuous data between multiple groups, and the Turkey test was used for further comparison between two groups. ResultsCompared with the normal control group, the NAFLD model group had significant increases in the protein and mRNA expression of ASM and the levels of CE, TG, TC, ALT, and AST (all P<0.05). Compared with the model group, the Ami group had significant reductions in the protein and mRNA expression of ASM and the levels of CE, TG, TC, ALT, and AST (all P<0.05), and the TNFα group had significant increases in the protein and mRNA expression of ASM and the levels of CE, TG, ALT, and AST (all P<0.05). Compared with the TNFα group, the Ami+TNFα group had significant reductions in the protein and mRNA expression of ASM and the levels of CE, TG, TC, ALT, and AST (all P<0.05). ConclusionThe ASM/CE pathway promotes lipid accumulation and may lead to hepatocyte steatosis, and amitriptyline can alleviate lipid deposition in NAFLD hepatocytes by inhibiting the ASM/CE pathway.

Objective:This study defined mid-term results of a policy of single-stage repair of interrupted aortic arch associated cardiac anomalies.Methods:Between October 2012 and June 2019, 38 patients with interrupted aortic arch were evaluated for short- and mid-term results after surgical treatment, the average age of patients was(12±7) days and the mean body weight was(3.3±0.5)kg.29 patients belonged to IAA type A, and 7 patients to type B, and 2 patients belonged to IAA type C, 30 patients were complicated with ventricular septal defect, atrial septal defect, and patent ductus arteriosus, two complicated with bicuspid aortic valve, four complicated with Taussig-Bing malformation and two with double outlet right ventricle, one with truncus arteriosus(A4), one with aortopulmonary window, one with left ventricle outflow tract obstruction. Single-stage repair was performed in all patients with cardiac anomalies.Results:Early mortality was 5.2%(2 cases), one was die for low cardiac output syndrome, the other die of septic shock. Median CPB time was 138 min(90-305 min), and median aortic cross clamping time was 68 min(47-163 min). Hospital day was 25d( 13-52 days).32 patients were followed-up, median time 34 months(9-85months). 2 patients(6.0%) were mild pulmonary stenosis pressure(20-25 mmHg), 3 patients(9.3%) suffer aortic anastomosis mild stnosis(21-44)mmHg.1 patient(3.1%) LVOTO was repaired ten months after the repair of interrupted aortic arch. The left broncus of of one patient was mild stenosis but without dyspnea.Conclusion:Single-stage end -to-side anastomosis repair of interrupted aortic arches in neonatal and repair of associated cardiac anomalies is safe and have low effective with low motality.

Oral immunosuppression caused by smoking creates a microenvironment to promote the occurrence and development of oral mucosa precancerous lesions. This study aimed to investigate the role of metabolism and macrophage polarization in cigarette-promoting oral leukoplakia. The effects of cigarette smoke extract (CSE) on macrophage polarization and metabolism were studied in vivo and in vitro. The polarity of macrophages was detected by flow cytometric analysis and qPCR. Liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) was used to perform a metabolomic analysis of Raw cells stimulated with CSE. Immunofluorescence and flow cytometry were used to detect the polarity of macrophages in the condition of glutamine abundance and deficiency. Cell Counting Kit-8 (CCK-8), wound-healing assay, and Annexin V-FITC (fluorescein isothiocyanate)/PI (propidium iodide) double-staining flow cytometry were applied to detect the growth and transferability and apoptosis of Leuk-1 cells in the supernatant of Raw cells which were stimulated with CSE, glutamine abundance and deficiency. Hyperkeratosis and dysplasia of the epithelium were evident in smoking mice. M2 macrophages increased under CSE stimulation in vivo and in vitro. In total, 162 types of metabolites were detected in the CSE group. The metabolites of nicotine, glutamate, arachidic acid, and arginine changed significantly. The significant enrichment pathways were also selected, including nicotine addiction, glutamine and glutamate metabolism, and arginine biosynthesis. The results also showed that the supernatant of Raw cells stimulated by CSE could induce excessive proliferation of Leuk-1 and inhibit apoptosis. Glutamine abundance can facilitate this process. Cigarette smoke promotes oral leukoplakia via regulating glutamine metabolism and macrophage M2 polarization.
