ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND@#To illustrate the research framework, overall knowledge structure, and development trends of Chinese medicine (CM) treatment for osteosarcoma (OS) by using a bibliometric analysis and newly developed visualization tools.@*METHODS@#Research datasets were acquired from the Web of Science (WOS) database from January 1, 1980 to September 30, 2019. VOS viewer and Citespace software was used to analyze the data and generate visualization knowledge maps. Annual trends of publications, distribution of institutes, distribution of journals, citation and H-index status, co-authorship status, research hotspots and co-citation status were analyzed.@*RESULTS@#A total of 223 publications in the WOS database met the requirement. The number of published articles showed a rise but the citation frequency and the H-index of China were relatively low. The cooperation between the countries, institutes and authors were relatively weak. Most publications were basic researches. Most of the previous researches focused on basic mechanisms of CM in treating OS, and therapy and improvement of dosage form may become a frontier in this research field.@*CONCLUSIONS@#Compared with other fields, the field of CM treatment for osteosarcome is still in infancy. The distribution of researches is imbalanced and cooperation between countries, institutions and authors remains to be strengthened. Furthermore, basic research occupies an absolute dominant position, and the exploration of the molecular mechanism of CM in preventing and treating OS may become a key point in the future.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: To explore the mediating effect of life satisfaction between psychological resilience and depression among medical staffs.METHODS: A total of 472 medical staffs in Shaoguan City were selected as the study subjects by convenience sampling method. The mental health, life satisfaction and depression were investigated and analyzed using the Psychological Resilience Questionnaire, Life Satisfaction Questionnaire and Self-Rating Depression Scale. RESULTS: The scores of mental resilience, life satisfaction and depression were 79.3±17.1, 16.1±6.1 and 53.5±11.8, respectively. There was a negative correlation between mental resilience score and depression score in medical staffs [correlation coefficient(r)=-0.638,P<0.01]. The score of life satisfaction was positively correlated with the scores of mental resilience and its three dimensions of toughness, strength and optimism(r were 0.341, 0.313, 0.306 and 0.336 respectively, all P<0.01). The score of life satisfaction was negatively correlated with the score of depression(r=-0.474,P<0.01). The life satisfaction had mediating role between mental resilience and depression, with the mediating effect value of-0.059, accounting for 13.50% of the total effect. CONCLUSION: Life satisfaction plays a partial intermediary role between mental resilience and depression in medical staffs.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND@#Prospective analyses have yet to identify a consistent relationship between sleep duration and the incidence of gastrointestinal (GI) cancers. The effect of changes in sleep duration on GI cancer incidence has scarcely been studied. Therefore, we aimed to examine the association between baseline sleep duration and annual changes in sleep duration and GI cancer risk in a large population-based cohort study.@*METHODS@#A total of 123,495 participants with baseline information and 83,511 participants with annual changes in sleep duration information were prospectively observed from 2006 to 2015 for cancer incidence. Cox proportional-hazards models were used to calculate hazard ratios (HRs) and their confidence intervals (CIs) for GI cancers according to sleep duration and annual changes in sleep duration.@*RESULTS@#In baseline sleep duration analyses, short sleep duration (≤5 h) was significantly associated with a lower risk of GI cancer in females (HR: 0.31, 95% CI: 0.10-0.90), and a linear relationship between baseline sleep duration and GI cancer was observed (P = 0.010), especially in males and in the >50-year-old group. In the annual changes in sleep duration analyses, with stable category (0 to -15 min/year) as the control group, decreased sleep duration (≤-15 min/year) was significantly associated with the development of GI cancer (HR: 1.29; 95% CI: 1.04-1.61), especially in the >50-year-old group (HR: 1.32; 95% CI: 1.01-1.71), and increased sleep duration (>0 min/year) was significantly associated with GI cancer in females (HR: 2.89; 95% CI: 1.14-7.30).@*CONCLUSIONS@#Both sleep duration and annual changes in sleep duration were associated with the incidence of GI cancer.

ABSTRACT

Constitutively expression of the pathway-specific activators is an effective method to activate silent gene clusters and improve natural product production. In this study, nine shunt products of aminoansamycins (1-9) were identified from a recombinant mutant strain S35-LAL by overexpressed the large-ATP-binding regulator of the LuxR family (LAL) gene aas1 in Streptomyces sp. S35. All the compounds showed no anti-microbial, anti-T3SS and cytotoxic activities.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: To estimate the number of lymph nodes(LNs)needed to be examined for adequate LN staging via nodal staging score(NSS).METHODS: A model was fitted based on 3989 pN + patients with resected primary pancreatic adenocarcinoma in the Surveillance,Epidemiology and End RESULTS:(SEER)database.The number of nodes to examine to achieve an N SS of 90% was used as the optimal number.The results were validated in node negative patients from the SEER cohort(2583 patients)and a local multicenter cohort(93 patients).RESULTS: Tumor size is a determinant for the extent of lymphadenectomy.According to the tumor size<2 cm and ≥2 cm,15 and 20 LNs would need to be examined to achieve90% confidence in a pN0 patient.As a result of missing node-positive case,the prevalence of nodepositive was adjusted from 60.7% to 71.0%.In the survival analysis,more LNs examined was shown to be correlated with better prognosis in patients with tumor ≥2 cm.CONCLUSION: The minimum number of LNs for adequate staging depends on the tumor size.The estimation provides a practical standard for evaluating the extent of LN yield for surgeons.

ABSTRACT

Objective To construct a model of Graves'disease ( GD ) with ( or ) Graves'ophthalmopathy ( GO) in BALB/c mice by immunization with pcDNA3. 1/TSHR289. Methods pcDNA3. 1/TSHR289 was injected into the bilateral gastrocnemius muscle of 35 model mice and electroporation was immediately performed. 10 control mice were injected with sterile saline and electroporated, while 5 blank mice were injected with sterile saline only. Each group of mice was immunized at 1, 4, 7, and 10 weeks, respectively. Serum total T4 , TSH, TSAb, and TSBAb were measured before immunization, 2 weeks after each immunization, as well as 5 and 8 weeks after the last immunization. CT scan was used to evaluate the morphological changes of the eyes of the mice.99m TcO4- imaging was used to measure the thyroid uptake function, and the pathological changes of the thyroid and orbital tissues were evaluated by HE staining. Results After the 2nd time immunization, the serum concentrations of TT4 , TSAb and TSBAb in GD mice were significantly higher than those of control and blank groups( F=13.781, 31.435, 36.112, P<0.01, respectively).The TSH continued to be significantly lower than that of control and blank groups(F=13.966, P<0.01) . After the 4th time immunizations, the ability of uptaking99m TcO4- in GD mice thyroid was significantly enhanced compared with the control group. The thyroid goiter with a large amount of lymphocyte infiltration, and the thyroid follicle was thin. CT scan of GO mice showed thickening and swelling of the extraocular muscles, and no abnormalities in tendon and muscle attachment points. HE staining showed thickening of extraocular muscle fibers, lymphocyte infiltration of extraocular muscles and orbital tissue, increased hyaluronic acid, and infiltration of fat cells. Conclusion GD or GO model can be successfully induced by multiple intramuscular injection of pcDNA3.1/TSHR289 in BALB/c mice.

ABSTRACT

Objective To determine the relationship among structural empowerment, occupational benefit and job embeddedness of nurses, and to analysis the role of occupational benefit in structural empowerment and job embeddedness. Methods A total of 422 nurses recruited from five tertiary hospitals in Tianjin. They were investigated with General Information Questionnaire, Condition of the Work Effectiveness Condition Questionnaire, Nurses' Occupational Benefit Scale and the Work Embedded Scale. Results The mean scores of nurses' work efficiency condition questionnaire, occupational benefit, and job embeddedness were (3.14 ± 0.88), (4.27 ± 0.53), (3.64 ± 0.677) points respectively. Structural empowerment, occupational benefit and job embeddedness were positively correlated (r=0.646, 0.536, 0.521, P<0.01);The nurses structural empowerment had significant prediction effect on work engagement (β=0.646, P<0.01),occupational benefit was a partial intermediary between structural empowerment and job embedding. Conclusion Through reasonable authorization, nursing managers actively guide nurses' sense of benefit, improve the close integration of nurses and organizations, then improve the level of nurses' work embedding.

ABSTRACT

Irisin is a circulating myokine induced by exercise, which is a cleaved version of fibronectin type III domain containing protein 5 (FNDC5). It can promote the browning of white fat tissue, increase energy consumption, and decrease weight. Irisin plays an important role in the regulation of various diseases, such as diabetes and coronary heart disease. Different types of exercise have different effects on irisin level in blood circulation, and moderate exercise can reduce cardiovascular symptoms. In this paper, the cardiovascular protective effect of irisin and its research progress in the field of exercise are reviewed, hoping to provide a new target for the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases.

OBJECTIVE@#To observe the therapeutic effect of pre-acupuncture at Neiguan (PC 6) and Zusanli (ST 36) on exercise-induced fatigue.@*METHODS@#A total of 50 subjects were divided into an observation group and a control group by random number table method, 25 cases in each one. In the observation group, acupuncture was applied at Neiguan (PC 6) and Zusanli (ST 36) before exercise, once a day, consecutive 5-day treatment was required. In the control group, there was no intervention. The subjective fatigue perception score, serum levels of lactate and lactate dehydrogenase, heart rate and oxygen saturation before and after exercise were observed in the two groups.@*RESULTS@#Compared before exercise, the subjective fatigue perception scores, serum levels of lactate and lactate dehydrogenase and heart rates after exercise were increased in the two groups (0.05).@*CONCLUSION@#Pre-acupuncture at Neiguan (PC 6) and Zusanli (ST 36) can effectively reduce the subjective fatigue perception score,serum levels of lactate and lactate dehydrogenase and heart rate to improve exercise-induced fatigue.

ABSTRACT

Objective In laparoscopic cholecystectomy(LC), increased intra-abdominal pressure and carbon dioxide absorption may cause obvious sympathetic excitation and bring about increased blood pressure and heart rate. Effective control on such sympathetic responses can reduce complications, which is beneficial to timely recovery for patients. The study aimed to investigate the effect of different doses of dexmedetomidine on blood pressure, heart rate and postoperative sedation during perioperative period in patients undergoing LC.Methods Sixty patients enrolled in the study randomly were divided into three equal groups(20 patients each): control group(only equal amount of isotonic saline), low dose group and high dose group according to the injection of dexmedetomidine. At each time point including before anaesthesia(T0), before cutting(T1), pneumoperitoneum at 0min(T2), at 10min(T3), at 20min(T4), immediate deflation(T5), before extubation(T6), after extubation and before leaving operation room(T7), and entering recovery room(T8), records were made on the patient’s blood pressure, heart rate, SpO2, airway peak pressure, PetCO2 and Ramsay sedation score after extubation.Results Extubation time and PACU stay time were significantly longer in high dose group in comparison with control group and low dose group (F=12.669, P=0.000 and F=6.281, P=0.030 respectively). Compared with control group, the heart rates of high dose group and low dose group at T5, T7 and T8 decreased significantly(P<0.05). During T2-T5, airway peak pressure was significantly higher than those of control group and low dose group(P<0.05). At T7, the Ramsay score of high dose group was significantly higher than those of control group and low dose group(P=0.015).Conclusion Sustainable pumping of dexmedetomidine can keep stable heart rate. However, the increase of pumping rate and dose will deepen the depth of sedation after extubation and obviously extend extubation time and observation time in recovery room. Therefore, it is appropriate to infuse dexmedetomidine less than 0.5μg/(kg·h) in clinical anaesthesia.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To observe whether intraoperative application of Dexmedetomidine combined with Ulinastatin has protective effect on postoperative pulmonary function in elderly patients with acute abdomen.Methods:80 cases of elderly patients with acute abdomen were divided into 4 groups randomly:Control group (group C);Dexmedetomidine group (group D);Ulinastatin group (group U) and Dexmedetomidine combined with Ulinastatin group (group D+U),20 cases in each group.In group D,before induction of anesthesia,a loading dose of Dexmedetomidine 1.0 μ g/kg was infused over 10 min,followed by continuous infusion of Dexmedetomidine at a rate of 0.5 μ g/ (kg·h) until the last 0.5 h before the end of surgery.Group U received Ulinastatin 10000 U/kg after induction of anesthesia.The patients in group D+U group were treated with the above two methods;and the patients in group C were given normal saline as control.General anesthesia was used in each group.Arterial blood gas analysis,oxygenation index,serum TNF-α and IL-8 levels were observed in all patients in preoperative 1 d and postoperative 1,3 and 5 d.All patients were back to ICU with intubation after operation.The duration of intubation,ICU treatment days,total hospitalization period and postoperative pulmonary complications were recorded.Results:For the oxygenation index,there was no significant difference between each group at TO (P>0.05).But at T1,T2 or T3,the oxygenation index in group D+U is better than group D,group U or group C (P<0.05).The comparison of serum TNF-α and IL-8 concentration in each group was almost the same as the oxygenation index.As for Duration of intubation,ICU treatment days,total hospitalization period,those in Group D+U are shorter than in other three groups (P<0.05).In the incidence of postoperative pulmonary complications (atelectasis,pulmonary infection,etc),group D+U (18%) was significantly lower than C group(26%),group D(32%) and U group(38%,P<0.05).Conclusion:The combination of dexmedetomidine and ulinastatin in elderly patients with acute abdomen can reduce the perioperative inflammatory response and improve the postoperative lung function.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the effect of the correction of the position error of the abdominal tumor by cone beam scanning. Methods Six patients with abdominal tumor were selected with double-blind method, and electronical portal imaing device was used to collect the information of the patient dosimetry during radiotherapy.EDOSE tool was applied to 3D dose reconstruction so as to execute real-time 3D dose verification of the treatment plan. Each patient had 5 sets of data acquired when image guidance existed and another 5 sets when image guidance was absent. The treatment effects with or without image guidance were compared.Results The overall γ passing rate with cone beam CT image guidance gained no advantages over that without image guidance, though the setup error was corrected to some extent. Image guidance contributed nothing to increasing target area coverage while decreasing exposure dose to normal tissue. Conclusion Setup error correction by the image guidance based on bone marker has no significant effect on improving 3D dose verification and dose accuracy during the radiotherapy of the abdominal tumor patient.

Objective To explore the expression of Per2 in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and its effect on the survival of HCC patients, and to analyze the effects of Per2 on the proliferation and apoptosis of SMMC-7721 cells. Methods The protein expression of Per2 in HCC patients was analyzed by immunohistochemical (IHC) staining. SMMC-7721 cells were transfected with Per2 eukaryotic expression plasmid. The protein expression of Per2 was detected by Western blot. The cell proliferation and apoptosis was detected by MTS and flow cytometry. Results In 117 HCC tissues, the Per2 positive expression rate was 70. 94%, which was significantly lower than that of 87. 18% in the adjacent HCC tissue. The Per2 staining score was 2. 14±1. 76, which was significantly lower than that of 6. 39±3. 84 in the adjacent HCC tissue (P<0. 01). Per2 expression was related to tumor diameter, portal vein invasion and TNM staging(P<0.05) in 117 HCC patients. The overall survival (OS) and recurrence-free survival (RFS) of HCC pa-tients with low expression of Per2 were shorter than those with Per2 high expression(P<0.05).The cell proliferation was significantly inhibited and the apoptosis increased with the transfection of Per2 eukaryotic expression plasmid in SMMC-7721 cells(P<0.05).Conclusions The expression of Per2 in HCC is significantly reduced.Per2 inhibits the progression of HCC,possibly by inhibiting cell proliferation and promoting apoptosis.

Objective@#To observe the effects of a combination treatment with narrow-spectrum intense pulsed light and fractional carbon dioxide laser on hypertrophic scar pruritus in clinic.@*Methods@#A prospective randomized controlled study was conducted. A total of 90 patients with hypertrophic scars conforming to the inclusion criteria who were hospitalized in our ward from March to December 2017 were divided into combination treatment group and control group according to the random number table, with 45 patients in each group. For scar pruritus, patients in control group were treated twice by narrow-spectrum intense pulsed light with a one-month interval, while patients in combination treatment group were firstly treated by narrow-spectrum intense pulsed light combined with fractional carbon dioxide laser once, and with narrow-spectrum intense pulsed light once one month later. Before and 3 months after treatment, scar pruritus was evaluated by the Visual Analogue Scale and the Four-item Itch Questionnaire, and the improvement of scar was assessed by photography. Three months after treatment, the treatment satisfaction of scar pruritus was self-rated by patients. Meanwhile, adverse effects were recorded during the procedures and follow-up periods. Data were processed with Chi-square test, paired t test, Wilcoxon rank-sum test, and Fisher′s exact probability test.@*Results@#Before treatment, there was no statistically significant difference in scar pruritus degree evaluated by the Visual Analogue Scale and score distribution of scar pruritus location, extent, frequency, and sleep effect of the Four-item Itch Questionnaire between patients of two groups (Z=-1.08, -0.91, -0.03, -0.69, -1.49, P>0.05). Three months after treatment, there was reducing degree of scar pruritus of patients evaluated by the Visual Analogue Scale in control group or combination treatment group compared with before treatment within the same group (Z=-1.98, -4.65, P<0.05 or P<0.01), while the latter was more obvious than the former (Z=-2.14, P<0.05). There were reducing scores of scar pruritus extent and frequency of patients in control group, along with location, extent, frequency, and sleep effect of patients in combination treatment group compared with those before treatment within the same group (Z=-2.33, -2.34, -3.53, -4.96, -3.32, -4.84, P<0.05 or P<0.01). However, scores of scar pruritus location and sleep effect of patients in control group were similar to those before treatment within the same group (Z=-0.58, -1.34, P>0.05). The scores of scar pruritus location, extent, frequency, and sleep effect of patients were obviously lower in combination treatment group compared with control group (Z=-2.09, -2.69, -1.99, -2.23, P<0.05 or P<0.01). It was much better of scar improvement of patients in combination treatment group compared with control group (Z=-4.00, P<0.01). The percentages of treatment satisfaction of scar pruritus of patients with 0, 1%-25%, 26%-50%, 51%-75%, 76%-100% were 0, 2.2% (1/45), 17.8% (8/45), 48.9% (22/45), and 31.1% (14/45) respectively in combination treatment group, which were obviously better than 0, 11.1% (5/45), 53.3% (24/45), 28.9% (13/45), and 6.7% (3/45) in control group (Z=-4.42, P<0.01). During the treatment and follow-up periods, the adverse effect ratio of patients in control group was 6.7% (3/45), similar to 2.2% (1/45) of combination treatment group (P>0.05).@*Conclusions@#The combination of narrow-spectrum intense pulsed light and fractional carbon dioxide laser can greatly reduce pruritus, improve effect of scar treatment, and bring higher patient satisfaction compared with narrow-spectrum intense pulsed light alone in treating hypertrophic scar pruritus.@*Clinical trial registration@#Chinese Clinical Trial Registry, ChiCTR-ONH-17012350.

ABSTRACT

Objective@#To evaluate the safety and effectiveness of ultrasound-guided percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) accessed by SVOF-principle and two-step puncture techniques.@*Methods@#A total of 838 cases with upper urinary stones underwent percutaneous nephrolithotomy successfully accessed by ultrasound-guided between June 2007 and December 2015 at Department of Urology, Tongji Hospital, Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology. Of all cases were divided in two groups: hydronephrosis calyces puncture group include 425 cases and SVOF-principle puncture group include 413 cases. The access establishment time, operation time, stone free rate (SFR), postoperative complications, and postoperative hospitalization time between the two groups we compared by t test or χ2 test.@*Results@#Statistically significant differences were observed between hydronephrosis calyces puncture group and SVOF-principle puncturegroup in the first access establishment time ((16.5±8.4) minutes vs. (11.2±5.9) minutes, t=3.931, P=0.013), one-stage SFR (74.3% vs. 85.7%, χ2=16.868, P=0.000), postoperative hospitalization time ((6.4±2.1) days vs. (4.8±1.8)days, t=4.574, P=0.000), transfusion rate (7.1% vs. 2.9%, χ2=8.027, P=0.006), and embolization rate (3.3% vs. 1.0%, χ2=5.390, P=0.020). There were no statistically significant differences in operation time, total SFR, postoperative fever and sever infection between these two groups (all P>0.05). In both two groups, no serious complications such as peripheral organ injury and death occurred.@*Conclusions@#PCNL accessed guided by ultrasound with SVOF-principle and two-step puncture techniques has advantages of quick puncture location, high stone free rate, fewer complications and fast recovery. This technique is an effective and safe treatment option for upper urinary stones and deserved promotion and application in clinic.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy and complications of minimally invasive transforaminal lumbar-interbody fusion (TLIF) in the treatment of lumbar spondylolisthesis. Methods Total 142 patients with single level spondylolis-thesis who treated by TLIF from 2010.01 to 2015.06 were included in this study, with 68 cases in minimally invasive TLIF (MIS-TLIF) group and 74 cases in traditional open TLIF group. The general information (age, gender, isthmic or degenerative type, per-centage of slip degree, levels), operative time, blood loss, length of postoperative hospital stay, Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) of low-back pain and leg pain, and Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) were recorded and collected. The posterior height of the interverte-bralpace and segmental lordosis, reduction of spondylolisthesis and cross-sectional area of spinal canal were measured. Results There was no statistically significant difference between the two groups in age, gender ratio, percentage of slip degree, and sur-gicallevels distribution. Total of 66 cases in MIS-TLIF group and 71 cases in Open TLIF group finished 2 years follow up, and 25 cases in MIS-TLIF group and 31 cases in Open TLIF group finished 5 years follow up. The blood loss of the MIS-TLIF group was 164.7±51.7 ml, significantly lower than the open TLIF group of 239±69.3 ml(P<0.001). The length of postoperative hospital stay was 5.9 ± 1.5 days in MIS-TLIF group, significantly shorter than the open TLIF group of 7.3 ± 3.1 days(P<0.001). The operative time of MIS-TLIF and Open TLIF was 146.3±21.9 mins, 152.0±20.4 mins, respectively, and no significant differ-ence was found between them. The VAS ofback pain, leg pain, ODI in MIS-TLIF group was 1.76±1.16, 1.91±1.36 and 23.5± 7.3 at 2 years follow up, and in Open TLIF was 1.73±1.10, 1.83±1.36 and 23.8±6.7, respectively, all of them were significant-ly different to pre-operation, however, no significant difference was found between two groups. The VAS of back pain, leg pain, ODI in MIS-TLIF group was 1.73±1.21, 1.93±1.48, and 25.4±6.8 at 5years follow up, and in Open TLIF was 1.85±1.02, 1.85± 1.33 and 26.1 ± 6.5, respectively, no significant difference between twogroups. The posterior height of the intervertebral space and segmental lordosis of MIS-TLIF was 9.52±1.67 mm and 12.11°±3.44° at 2 years follow up, while the open TLIF was 9.88± 1.54 mm and 12.98 ± 3.83° , all of them were significantly different to pre-operation,however, no significant difference between two groups. The posterior height of the intervertebral space and segmental lordosis of MIS-TLIF was 9.37 ± 1.46 mm and 11.55° ± 2.77° , while the open TLIF was 9.66 ± 1.68 mm and 12.59° ± 4.23° , no significant difference between two groups. The percentage of slip degree was reduced to 5.2%±4.6% in MIS-TLIF and 5.6%±4.3% in open TLIF, the cross-sectional area of spinal canal was enlarged to 139.7±19.5 mm2 and 141.7±20.7 mm2, no significant difference between two groups either. Con-clusion MIS-TLIF has less blood loss, shorter postoperative hospital stay than open TLIF, and similar clinical pain and function-al outcomes. MIS-TLIF is suggested to be a safe and effective choice in the treatment of lower grade lumbar spondylolisthesis (Grade II or less).

ABSTRACT

Objective To understand the current situation of pediatric nurses' perceived stress,coping style and professional burnout,analyze the influence of pediatric nurses' perceived stress and coping styles on professional burnout,and to provide references for reducing pediatric nurses' professional burnout.Methods A questionnaire survey was conducted on 415 pediatric nurses from 9 tertiary level A hospitals in Tianjin using general information questionnaires,Chinese Perceived Stress Scale(CPSS),Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire (SCSQ),and Maslach Burnout Inventory(MBI).Results Pediatric nurses'MBI scores were divided into emotional exhaustion score (25.19 ± 9.98) points,depersonalization total score (10.70 ± 4.65) points,personal achievement sense (29.72 ± 9.62) points,and higher degree of burnout.Correlation analysis showed that the perceived stress was positively correlated with emotional exhaustion and depersonalization dimensions,and negatively correlated with the dimension of personal accomplishment (r =0.398,0.236,-0.388,P <0.01);positive coping dimensions were negatively correlated with emotional exhaustion and depersonalization dimensions,and positively correlated with the dimension of personal accomplishment(r =-0.544,-0.205,0.608,P<0.01);negative coping dimensions and emotional depletion and depersonalization dimensions were positively correlated,and negatively correlated with individual achievement dimension (r =0.559,0.298,-0.652,P <0.01).Multiple stepwise regression analysis showed that perceived stress and negative coping style had influence on emotional exhaustion,depersonalization,and individual achievement dimension.Positive coping style had influence on emotional exhaustion and personal achievement dimension (R2=0.105-0.501,P<0.01).Conclusions Pediatric nurses have higher professional burnout.Perceived stress and coping styles have an impact on professional burnout.Pediatric nurses should take more active measures to relieve perceived stress and reduce burnout.

ABSTRACT

This study explored the association between the lncRNA HOTAIR polymorphism and susceptibility to lead poisoning in a Chinese population. We speculated that lead poisoning caused elevated levels of oxidative stress, which, in turn, activate the HOTAIR gene to cause apoptosis. Three lncRNA HOTAIR tagSNPs (rs7958904, rs4759314, and rs874945) were genotyped by TaqMan genotyping technology in 113 lead-sensitive and 113 lead-resistant Chinese workers exposed to lead. Rs7958904 was significantly associated with susceptibility to lead poisoning (P = 0.047). The rs7958904 G allele had a protective effect compared with the C allele and reduced the risk of lead poisoning (P = 0.016). Rs7958904 may act as a potential biomarker for predicting the risk of lead poisoning and distinguishing lead-sensitive individuals from lead-resistant individuals.

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To study the changes in C-reactive protein (CRP) and procalcitonin (PCT) levels in neonates with necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) and their clinical significance.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>According to the modified Bell's staging criteria, 142 neonates with NEC were divided into stage I group (n=40), stage II group (n=72), and stage III group (n=30). All the 18 neonates who underwent surgical treatment had stage III NEC, and among the 124 neonates who underwent conservative treatment, 12 had stage III NEC and the others had stage I or II NEC. CRP and PCT were measured before treatment, on the next day after treatment, and during the recovery stage.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>Before treatment, on the next day after treatment, and during the recovery stage, the stage III group had a higher level of CRP than the stage I and stage II groups (P<0.05). On the next day after treatment, the stage II and stage III groups had an increase in CRP (P<0.05), and the stage III group had an increase in PCT (P<0.05). The stage II and stage III groups had lower CRP and PCT in the recovery stage than before treatment and on the next day after treatment (P<0.05). The stage III group had higher incidence rate of respiratory failure and rate of mechanical ventilation than the stage I and stage II groups (P<0.05), and the stage III group had a higher incidence rate of sepsis than the stage II group (P=0.010). Gastrointestinal perforation and intestinal stenosis were observed in 10 and 8 neonates respectively in the stage III group. CRP on the next day after treatment had a value in predicting stage III NEC (P<0.05), and CRP before treatment and on the next day after treatment had a value in predicting the need for surgery (P<0.05).</p><p><b>CONCLUSIONS</b>Levels of CRP and PCT and their changes can help with the early diagnosis of Bell stage II/III NEC, and CRP can be used to predict the development of stage III NEC and the need for surgery.</p>
