ABSTRACT
To study the chemical constituents from the the deep-sea fungus Alternaria sp. F49. Seven compounds were isolated from the EtOAc extract by using silica gel, Sephadex LH-20, ODS and HPLC methods. Based on the spectroscopic analysis, their structures were identified as (8R)-5-O-methyl-orcinotriol (1), orcinotriol (2), α-acetylorcinol (3), 3'-hydroxyalternariol 5-O-methyl ether (4), altenusiol (5), altenusin (6), and 5'-methoxy-6-methyl-biphenyl-3,4,3'-triol (7). (8R)-5-O-Methyl-orcinotriol (1) is a new phenolic compound which has never been reported in the literature. Compounds 4-7 showed strong DPPH free radical scavenging activity; whereas compounds 1-7 showed strong ABTS free radical scavenging activity.
ABSTRACT
Pancreas transplantation and pancreas-kidney transplantation are the optimal treatment for renal failure caused by type 1 diabetes mellitus, partial type 2 diabetes mellitus and their complications. Pancreas transplantation mainly includes simultaneous pancreas-kidney transplantation (SPK), pancreas transplantation after kidney transplantation (PAK) and pancreas transplantation alone (PTA). Among all types of pancreas transplantation, biopsy of pancreas allograft remains the best method for definitively diagnosing rejection and differentiate it from other complications. In this article, biopsy methods of pancreas allograft and related research progress, diagnostic criteria and research progress on rejection of pancreas allograft biopsy, and main complications and pathological manifestations of pancreas allograft were illustrated, aiming to provide reference for guiding the clinical diagnosis of the above mentioned complications and ensuring the long-term survival of pancreas allografts and recipients.
ABSTRACT
Objective: To examine the associations of childhood obesity, assessed by genetic variations of childhood body mass index (BMI), with the risk of adult ischemic heart disease (IHD) and major coronary event (MCE). Methods: More than 69 000 participants from the China Kadoorie Biobank were genotyped. After excluding those with coronary heart disease, stroke, or cancer at baseline, a total of 64 454 participants were included in this study. Based on genome-wide significant single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), childhood BMI genetic risk score were constructed for every participant and divided into quintiles, with the lowest quintile as the low genetic risk group and the highest quintile as the high genetic risk group. Cox proportional hazards regression models were used to estimate the association between genetic predisposition to childhood obesity and the risk of ischemic heart disease. Results: During a median of 10.7 years of follow-up, 7 073 incident cases of IHD and 1 845 cases of MCE were documented. After adjusting for sex, age, region, and the first ten genetic principal components, the HRs (95%CIs) for IHD and MCE in the high genetic risk group were 1.10 (1.02-1.18) and 1.10 (0.95-1.27), compared with the low genetic risk group. IHD risk increased by 4% (2%-6%) for each one standard deviation increase in genetic risk score (trend P=0.001). After further adjustment for baseline BMI, the differences between genetic risk groups were not statistically significant, but there was still a linear trend between genetic risk score and IHD risk (trend P=0.019). Conclusions: IHD risk increased with genetic predisposition to childhood obesity, suggesting that childhood obesity is an important risk factor for the development of IHD in China. As an easily identifiable feature, changes of childhood BMI should be monitored regularly to realize early intervention of IHD in adults.

Objective: To explore the relationship of sleep duration and insomnia with muscle mass, strength, and quality in Chinese adults. Methods: Based on the second resurvey of China Kadoorie Biobank (CKB) in 2013-2014, logistic regression models were used to analyze the correlation of sleep duration, insomnia, and its duration with low muscle mass, handgrip strength, and muscle quality. Results: The average sleep duration of the study population was (7.4±1.5) hours. Morbidities of short sleep duration (<6 hours), long sleep duration (≥9 hours), and insomnia were 9.3%,17.4%,and 29.9%,respectively. Compared with those who slept for 7- hours, those who slept for ≥9 hours were more likely to have low muscle mass, low handgrip strength, and low arm muscle quality (AMQ), and the OR (95%CI) of low appendicular skeletal muscle mass index (ASMI), low total skeletal muscle mass index (TSMI), low grip strength and low AMQ were 1.32 (1.18-1.48),1.26 (1.13-1.41), 1.33 (1.18-1.49) and 1.16 (1.03-1.30), respectively. Compared with participants without insomnia, insomnia patients were more likely to have low muscle mass, and the longer the duration of insomnia, the higher the risk (P for trend <0.001). Participants who reported <6 hours sleep duration and insomnia had a higher proportion of low ASMI and low TSMI,compared with those who slept for 7- hours and without insomnia, the OR (95%CI) were 1.26 (1.08-1.47) and 1.25 (1.07-1.46), respectively. Conclusions: Participants who reported ≥9 hours sleep duration were more likely to have low muscle mass, low handgrip strength, and low AMQ. Participants with insomnia had lower muscle mass, and the longer the duration of insomnia, the higher the proportion of low ASMI and low TSMI.

Objective: To explore the association of spicy food consumption and risk of lip, oral cavity, and pharynx cancers (LOCPs) in Chinese adults. Methods: Based on the baseline survey and long-term follow-up of the China Kadoorie Biobank (CKB) study, Cox proportional hazard regression models were used to estimate hazard ratios (HR) and 95% confidence intervals (95%CI) for associations between spicy food consumption and LOCPs incidence. Results: Of the 510 145 participants included at baseline, 30.1% reported daily spicy food consumption. During a mean follow-up of 10.8 (2.0) years, we documented 767 LOCPs cases. Multivariate adjusted analyses showed that the risk of LOCPs incidence decreased with the frequency of spicy food intake (trend P=0.003), with HR of 0.69 (95%CI:0.54-0.88) for daily spicy food consumers, compared with never or occasional consumers. Participants who preferred moderate pungency degrees had the lowest risk of LOCPs, with a 33%[0.67(95%CI:0.52-0.87)] reduced risk compared to those who consumed spicy food less than once per week. The later the starting age, the lower the risk (trend P=0.004). Those who started eating spicy food after 18 years old had the lowest risk of LOCPs incidence, with adjusted HR (95%CI) of 0.70(0.54-0.92). Conclusions: Spicy food intake might be associated with a decreased risk of LOCPs incidence. Such association was independent of healthy lifestyles. Advocating moderate-pungency spicy food consumption and healthy lifestyles might help prevent LOCPs.

Objective: To explore the relationship of physical activity and sedentary leisure time with muscle mass, strength, and quality in Chinese adults. Methods: Based on the second resurvey of China Kadoorie Biobank (CKB) in 2013-2014, logistic regression models were used to analyze the correlation of physical activity and sedentary leisure time with low muscle mass, grip strength, and muscle quality. Results: A total of 24 245 participants were included in the analysis. The average daily physical activity level was (18.3±13.8) MET-h/d, and the sedentary leisure time was (4.4±1.9) hours. We took the lowest physical activity quartile as the reference and found that the participants' physical activity was negatively correlated to low muscle mass, strength, and quality. The ORs (95%CIs) of low appendicular skeletal muscle mass index (ASMI), low total skeletal muscle mass index (TSMI), low grip strength and low arm muscle quality (AMQ) were 0.68 (0.60-0.77), 0.66 (0.58-0.75), 0.82 (0.72-0.94) and 0.84 (0.74-0.95), respectively. The subtypes of physical activity, including those related to work, transportation, housework, and leisure, also showed negative correlations with low muscle mass, strength, and quality to varying degrees. Compared with participants with the shortest sedentary leisure time, those who had the longest were more likely to have low TSMI (OR=1.13, 95%CI: 0.99-1.30). Conclusions: Physical activity was negatively correlated with a lower risk of low muscle mass and strength, while longer sedentary leisure time positively correlated with low muscle mass.

Objective: To evaluate the associations of body mass index (BMI) and waist circumference with hospitalization risk of kidney stones in Chinese adults. Methods: This study used long-term follow-up data from China Kadoorie Biobank. After excluding participants with chronic kidney disease, cancer, and extreme BMI or waist circumference values at baseline, 502 096 participants were included in the present analysis. Cox proportional hazards regression models were used to estimate the associations of BMI and waist circumference with hospitalization risk of kidney stones. Results: During an average follow-up period of (10.7±2.2) years, 12 396 participants were hospitalized for the first time with kidney stones. Using the participants with BMI (kg/m2) of 20.5-22.4 as reference, the multivariable-adjusted HR (95%CI) for those with BMI of <18.5, 18.5-20.4, 22.5-23.9, 24.0-25.9, 26.0-27.9, 28.0-29.9, and ≥30.0 were 0.96 (0.87-1.05), 0.94 (0.88-1.00), 1.11 (1.05-1.17), 1.25 (1.18-1.32), 1.29 (1.21-1.37), 1.39 (1.28-1.50), and 1.54 (1.40-1.71), respectively. For every 1 kg/m2 increase in BMI, the HR of kidney stones hospitalization increased by 4% (HR=1.04, 95%CI: 1.04-1.05). Using the participants with waist circumference (cm) of 75.0-79.9 as reference, the multivariable-adjusted HR (95%CI) for those with waist circumference of <65.0, 65.0-69.9, 70.0-74.9, 80.0-84.9, 85.0-89.9, 90.0-94.9, and ≥95.0 were 0.82 (0.74-0.91), 0.85 (0.80-0.92), 0.95 (0.89-1.00), 1.16 (1.09-1.22), 1.22 (1.15-1.30), 1.28 (1.19-1.38), and 1.46 (1.35-1.58), respectively. For every 5 cm increase in waist circumference, the HR of kidney stones hospitalization increased by 9% (HR=1.09, 95%CI: 1.08-1.10). After mutually adjusting for BMI and waist circumference in the above models, the association between BMI and hospitalization risk of kidney stones disappeared. In contrast, the association between waist circumference and hospitalization risk of kidney stones remained unchanged. Conclusions: BMI and waist circumference were positively associated with hospitalization risk of kidney stones. The increased waist circumference was an independent risk factor for kidney stones among Chinese adults.

Objective: To investigate the association between tea consumption and the risk of all-cause and cause-specific mortality among Chinese adults. Methods: This study was based on China Kadoorie Biobank (CKB). Tea consumption information was self-reported by participants at baseline. Death was mainly identified by linkage to the death registry system. Cox proportional hazard regression models estimated HR and 95%CI. Results: With a median follow-up of 11.1 years, there were 34 661 deaths in 438 443 participants. Compared with those who never drink tea, all-cause mortality HR(95%CI) were 0.89(0.86-0.91) and 0.92(0.88-0.95) for non-daily tea drinkers and daily tea drinkers, respectively. A statistically significant difference was found in the association of tea consumption and the risk of all-cause mortality between men and women(interaction P<0.05). The protective effect was mainly seen in men. Compared with those who never drink tea, daily tea drinkers had a reduced risk of death from ischemic heart disease, ischemic stroke, hemorrhagic stroke, cancer, respiration diseases and other causes of death, and the corresponding HR(95%CI) were 0.83(0.76-0.92), 0.82(0.69-0.97), 0.86(0.78-0.94), 1.03(0.97-1.09), 1.00(0.87-1.16), 0.84(0.78-0.90). Among never smokers and non-excessive drinkers, there was no statistically significant association between daily tea drinking and the risk of death from cancer. While smokers and excessive drinkers had an increased risk of death from cancer (interaction P<0.001). Conclusions: Tea consumers had reduced risks of all-cause mortality and partial cause-specific mortality, but not for the risk of death from cancer. On the contrary, daily tea drinkers with smoking habits and excessive alcohol drinking had an increased risk of death from cancer.

To investigate the efficacy and value of optical genome mapping (OGM) in detecting chromosomal structural variations. In a clinical study about high-precision analysis of genomic structural variation for complex genetic diseases, a retrospective study was performed on the cases with karyotyping at the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Endocrinology of Peking Union Medical College Hospital from January to December 2021. Ten cases with abnormal karyotype was detected by OGM. Partial cases were verified by fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH), SNP array or CNV-seq. Results of ten cases, nine were detected with abnormality by OGM, including unbalanced chromosomal rearrangements (n=3), translocation (n=5) and paracentric inversion (n=1), and the results were in concordance with other standard assays. However, one case with breakpoint and reconnected at centromere has not been detected. In conclusion, ten samples were comprehensively analyzed by karyotyping, FISH, SNP array or CNV-seq, and OGM, and results demonstrated that optical genome mapping as a new technology can not only detect unbalanced rearrangements such as copy number variants as well as balanced translocations and inversions, but more importantly, it can refine breakpoints and orientation of duplicated segments or insertions. So it can contribute to the diagnosis of genetic diseases and prevent birth defect. However, the current technology is not yet capable of detecting breakpoints of balanced structural variations lying within unmapped regions.

Food safety in China has been significantly improved since the melamine crisis in 2008 and the promulgation of the first Food Safety Law in 2009. However, food safety is a long standing issue in China due to the backward productive structure of agriculture and food business. In order to further improve the food safety in China, it is critical to reach a consensus on the leading edge concept of food safety and the identification of priority areas based on the concept. The leading edge concept of food safety aims to prevent potential issues and deal with current issues based on the risk, i.e. risk-based approach, as opposed to the concept based on the hazard, i.e. hazard-based approach. Practice is to determine the key problems that need to be solved first according to the concept. This paper expounds the different food safety management strategies and measures caused by the two concepts, and lists several key food safety problems (importance and solutions) determined according to the concept of "risk-based". These examples include foodborne diseases caused by pathogenic microorganisms, antimicrobial resistance, food allergen control, risk assessment of multiple chemical hazards exposure and alternative methods in food toxicology.

Objective: To investigate whether atrial fibrillation (AF) before transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) will affect the prognosis of patients post TAVI. Methods: This is a single center retrospective study. A total of 115 patients with severe aortic stenosis (AS) who were admitted to General Hospital of Northern Theater Command from May 2016 to November 2020 and successfully received TAVI treatment were included. According to absence or accompaniment of AF pre-TAVI, they were divided into AF group (21 cases) and non-AF group (94 cases). The patients were followed up for postoperative antithrombotic treatment and the occurrence of the net adverse clinical and cerebrovascular events (NACCE) at 12 months post TAVI, including cardiogenic death, readmission to hospital for heart failure, nonfatal myocardial infarction, ischemic stroke and severe bleeding (BARC levels 3-5). Univariate logistic regression was used to analyze the related factors of NACCE. Results: Among the 115 selected patients, age was (73.8±6.9) years, there were 63 males. And 21 cases (18.2%) were diagnosed as AFbefore TAVI. In terms of postoperative antithrombotic therapy, 48.9% (46/94) of the patients in the non-AF group received monotherapy and 47.9% (45/94) received dual antiplatelet therapy. In the AF group, 47.6% (10/21) received anticoagulants and 33.3% (7/21) received dual antiplatelet therapy. The proportion of patients in the AF group taking non-vitamin K antagonist oral anticoagulants (NOAC) was higher than that in the non-AF group (38.1% (8/21) vs. 2.1% (2/94), P<0.001). Patients in both groups were followed up to 12 months after TAVI. During the 12 months follow-up, the incidence of NACCE after TAVI was 14.3% (3/21) in the AF group, which was numerically higher than that in the non-AF group (6.4% (6/94)), but the difference was not statistically significant (P=0.441). The incidence of severe bleeding was significantly higher in the AF group than in the non-AF group (9.5% (2/21) vs. 0, P=0.032). Univariate logistic regression analysis showed that hypertension was associated with the risk of NACCE (OR=8.308, P=0.050), while AF was not associated with the risk of NACCE (P=0.235). Conclusion: The incidence of severe bleeding after TAVI is higher in patients with AF than in patients without AF prior TAVI, and there is a trend of increased risk of NACCE post TAVI in AF patients.

Bilateral inferior petrosal sinus sampling(BIPSS), with or without desmopressin stimulation, is the gold standard in the diagnosis of Cushing′s disease. A few of patients with Cushing′s disease present a false negative result in BIPSS. These patients are often misdiagnosed as ectopic adrenocorticotropin(ACTH) syndrome(EAS). Here we report a case of Cushing′s disease with a false negative BIPSS, in the hope to aid clinical physicians in the differential diagnosis and treatment of ACTH-dependent Cushing′s syndrome.

Under the same research basis, the funding rate of the group was 29.91%, which was significantly higher than the group did not participate in the expert preliminary counselling (funding rare: 13.59%, P<0.001). Conclusions:We should pay more attention to and participate actively in the expert preliminary counselling, which can increase the quality of the projects and improve their funding rate significantly.
ABSTRACT
Objective:To investigate the pathogenesis of Cushing′s syndrome induced by medullary thyroid carcinoma. Methods:Started from April 2011 to present, three medullary thyroid carcinoma patients with Cushing′s syndrome were enrolled in this study. All patients were 40 to 50 years old, one female and two males. The blood pressure, blood glucose, thyroid function and antibodies, calcitonin, and carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA)were detected. The qualitative and localized diagnosis of Cushing′s syndrome was performed by high- and low-dose dexamethasone suppression tests as well as imaging examinations. The biopsies of all patients were taken to test the immunostaining of calcitonin, adrenocorticotropin(ACTH), and corticotropin-releasing hormone(CRH).Results:According to the clinical manifestation and function tests, three patients were diagnosed as medullary thyroid carcinoma accompanied by ACTH-dependent Cushing′s syndrome. All patients showed positive immunohistochemical staining of calcitonin and CRH, with negative immunostaining of ACTH in one and positive immunostaining of ACTH in two patients. Therefore, the diagnosis of ectopic CRH syndrome caused by medullary thyroid carcinoma was definite. Conclusions:Medullary thyroid carcinoma is a rare cause of Cushing′s syndrome. Tumor cells secrete ACTH and CRH, which in turn cause hypercorticoremia. Ectopic CRH syndrome is very rare. Early diagnosis can be made by immunohistochemical staining of biopsy tissues to guide early targeted treatment and improve the prognosis.
ABSTRACT
Insect samples found on human corpses can provide the information important to estimating the minimum postmortem interval (PMImin). A female cadaver, found in a deserted factory in Chongqing of China, was confirmed as a homicide case after the forensic investigation and autopsy. Determining the time of death was difficult due to the inconsistent degree of decomposition in different parts of the decedent. The insect specimens found on the cadaver were identified to be Chrysomya rufifacies (C. rufifacies, Macquart) by morphology and mitochondrial DNA sequence analysis. The PMImin was estimated to be 452 h, based on the developmental rate of C. rufifacies. The PMImin was estimated suc-cessfully to be almost precise, which provided an important entomological evidence for case investiga-tion and suspect prosecution. In so doing, this highlights the usefulness of entomological evidence of specific species in the geographic area for PMI accurate estimation, especially in the case of advanceddecomposed corpses.
ABSTRACT
The rats were exposed to chronic unpredictable mild stress(CUMS) and kept in separate cages for inducing depressive disorder, which was judged by behavioral indicators. The number and morphology of neurons in hippocampal CA3 area and prefrontal cortex were observed by hematoxylin-eosin(HE) staining. The levels of brain-derived neurotrophic factor(BDNF), 5-hydroxytryptamine(5-HT), 5-hydroxyindoleacetic acid(5-HIAA), dopamine(DA), norepinephrine(NE), glutamic acid(GLU), interleukin-1β(IL-1β), interleukin-18(IL-18), and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α) were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA). Real-time polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) and Western blot were conducted to determine the mRNA and protein expression levels of related molecules in NLRP3 pathway. The results showed that compared with the model group, acidic polysaccharides from Poria at the low-, medium-, and high-doses(0.1, 0.3 and 0.5 g·kg~(-1)·d~(-1)) all improved the depression-like behavior of rats, increased the number of neurons and the levels of BDNF, 5-HT, 5-HIAA, DA, and NE in the hippocampus, and reduced GLU and serum IL-1β, IL-18, and TNF-α levels. The mRNA expression levels of ASC, caspase-1, IL-1β, and IL-18 and the protein expression levels of NLRP3, ASC, caspase-1, IL-1β, and IL-18 in each medication group were down-regulated, whereas the protein expression levels of pro-caspase-1, pro-IL-1β, and pro-IL-18 were up-regulated. All these have indicated that acidic polysaccharides from Poria exerted the antidepressant effect possibly by regulating neurotransmitters and NLRP3 inflammasome signaling pathway.

Objective:To analyze KCNJ5 mutation of adenomas in patients with aldosterone-producing adenoma (APA) companying with hypokalemia, and to compare the clinical characteristics of patients with and without KCNJ 5 mutations. Methods:Clinical data of 144 APA patients were retrospectively analyzed. DNA were extracted from adenoma tissues, and amplified and sequenced for KCNJ5 gene. The serum potassium level and cardiac complications in patients with and without KCNJ5 gene mutation were compared. Results:Among 144 tumors, 131 tumors (91%) had KCNJ5 mutation, including 68 tumors with G151R, 56 tumors with L168R, 5 tumors with E145Q, and two tumors with novel mutations, V156_K160delITE and G151delinsVR. Compared with patients without KCNJ5 mutation, patients with KCNJ5 mutation had lower preoperative serum potassium levels, more cardiac complications, lower postoperative systolic blood pressure, and better postoperative hypertension relief. There were no statistical differences in age, gender, blood pressure, serum potassium level, plasma renin activity or plasma aldosterone concertration.Conclusion:91% adenomas in patients with APA and hypokalemia had KCNJ5 mutation, suggesting that KCNJ5 mutation is the main cause in these patients.
ABSTRACT
Objective:To investigate the clinical characteristics of four McCune-Albright syndrome (MAS) patients associated with growth hormone(GH)-prolactin(PRL) pituitary adenoma, and explore more effective clinical treatment and management methods. Methods:The clinical data of four patients with MAS and GH-PRL pituitary adenoma diagnosed by Peking Union Medical College Hospital were retrospectively analyzed, including clinical manifestations, biochemical parameters, radiographic characteristics, as well as treatment and prognosis. Literature review was also conducted to analyze the efficacy of surgical operations and drug intervention. Results:Clinical characteristics: 3 females and 1 male, all of whom had onset before the age of 7 years. The types of fibrous dysplasia of bone were all polyosseous and involved craniofacial region. There were obvious gigantism/acromegaly manifestations in all cases, 3 cases had evident visual impairment and 1 case with optic chiasm compression. There was no spontaneous or triggered lactation in all 4 patients. Laboratory examination: GH and insulin-like growth factor-Ⅰ(IGF-Ⅰ) levels were significantly increased in 4 patients, GH levels were not inhibited by oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT), PRL levels were over 100 ng/ml, ALP levels were significantly increased in 4 patients, while serum calcium and phosphorus levels were remained normal. Imaging features: All pituitary adenomas in 4 patients were macroadenomas, with unilateral cavernous sinus enclosure in cases 2 and 3, and recurrence of macroadenoma with bilateral cavernous sinus enclosure in case 4 after the first operation. Four cases of skull CT showed multiple FD in craniofacial bone and skull base. Treatment and outcome: All 4 patients underwent pituitary adenoma resection and bisphosphonate therapy, and somatostatin analogues, dopamine receptor agonists and other treatments were selected according to the situation. Two patients with early diagnosis and initial treatment achieved partial remission after treatment, while the other two patients did not. Conclusions:Patients with MAS and GH-PRL pituitary adenoma had earlier onset age and were more likely to suffer from optic nerve damage. Early diagnosis and reasonable surgical treatment may help to improve biochemical indicators (GH, IGF-Ⅰ, and PRL, etc.) rapidly, and combined drug therapy (somatostatin analogues and dopamine receptor agonists) can better maintain or close to normal biochemical indicators, and ultimately improve the prognosis of patients.
ABSTRACT
Objective:Our study aimed to investigate clinical and immunological features, and prognosis of systemic sclerosis (SSc) complicated with trigeminal neuropathy (TN).Methods:Data of SSc-associated TN were collected from clinical records in Peking University People's Hospital between January 2009 and July 2019.Results:Five cases collected from our cohort and 8 cases from literature. Out of 13 cases, 11 were females, with the average age of (50±9) years. TN occurred before, concurrent, or after SSc. Raynaud's phenomenon (100%, 13/13), lung involvement (75%, 9/12) and esophageal dysfunction (60%, 6/10) were key clinical features of SSc-associated TN patients. Twelve cases received blink reflex tests and 10 of them had positive results. In SSc-associated TN patients, ANA was detected in 92% (11/12) of cases, anti-Scl-70 antibody was detected in 40% (4/10) of cases, and anti-RNP antibody was detected in 36% (4/11) of patients. Elevated ESR and immunoglobulin were found in 43% (3/7) of patients, and 57% (4/7) of patients, respectively. Symptoms of nervous system gradually improved after treated with glucocorticoid and immuno-suppressants.Conclusion:TN is identified as a complication of SSc. SSc patients with Raynaud's pheno-menon, lung involvement, esophageal dysfunction, positive ANA, anti-Scl-70 antibody and anti-RNP antibody are prone to develop TN and should receive more effective intervention. Blink reflex test is useful for patients with SSc-associated trigeminal sensory neuropathy.
