ABSTRACT
Objective To explore the effect of comprehensively-designed experiment teaching methodology in the teaching of geriatric nursing. Methods Sixty-three nursing students in the grade of 2010 were assigned into the experiment group, where the comprehensively-designed experiment teaching methodology were adopted. And the fifty-eight nursing students in the grade of 2009 were assigned as the control group, where the traditional experiment teaching methods were adopted. The two groups were compared in terms of theory test scores and evaluations to the two teaching methods. Result The theory examination score and students'evaluation in the experiment were higher than those of the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Comprehensively-designed experiment teaching method used in the teaching of geriatric nursing is beneficial for the students to improve their interest in learning, cultivate their comprehensive quality, shorten the gap between the experimental teaching and clinical practice and improve the teaching effect of geriatric nursing.
ABSTRACT
Objective In this study we discussed the training method for skills of evidence-based nursing(EBN)for nurses in surgical department. Methods We selected 43 nurses in two surgical department as training objects. The trainging procedure was established according to the four steps of evidencebased nursing, putting forward questions, searching for evidences, making observations and applying evidence-based nursing. The nurses were trained according to the procedure. The skills of EBN,ability of obtaining information and satisfaction degree of nurses was evaluated after training. Results The skills of EBN and the ability of obtaining information after training Was statistically different from those before training(P <0.01).95% nurses considered that their EBN ability was improved after training. Conclusions The skills of EBN and the ability of obtaining information increased after EBN training in nurses of surgical department. This had instructive significance for the application of evidence-based nureing.
ABSTRACT
Objective To discuss the effect of skill training for staff working in washing rooms of sterilization and supply center after application of centralized management model. Methods The training objects included all the working staff in the washing rooms and the training procedure covered four steps:preparation, discussion, implementation and evaluation. The evaluation indices involved level of post skill, cleaning and sterilization effect of instruments and satisfaction degree of staff. Results After training the level of post skills were increased dramatically(P<0.01).The cleaning and sterilization effect of instruments was also improved(P<0.01).96% of staff considered their post ability elevated after training. Conclusion After skill training for staff working in washing rooms, the post skill and cleaning and sterilization quality of instruments were both enhanced. It proved valuable for guarantee of cleaning and sterilization quality of medical instruments and improvement of professional skills for staff working in washing rooms of sterilization and supply center.
ABSTRACT
A 1 270 bp full-length cDNA fragment was obtained from the Schistosoma japonicum (Chinese strain) adult cDNA library after the 3′ and 5′ ends of the incomplete expression sequence tag (EST) of hypoxanthine-guanine phosphoribosyltransferase of Schistosoma japonicum (SjHGPRT) were amplified by the anchored PCR with 2 pairs of primer that were designed according to the published incomplete SjHGPRT EST and the sequence of multiclone sites of library ?gt11 vector. Sequence analysis indicated that this fragment, with an identity of 82% to hypoxanthine-guanine phosphoribosyltransferase of Schistosoma mansoni (SmHGPRT), contained a complete open reading frame(ORF). The deduced amino acid sequence showed 83% identity to that of SmHGPRT. This fragment was cloned into the prokaryotic expression vector pQE30, and subsequently sequenced and expressed in Escherichia coli. SDS-PAGE revealed that M of the recombinant protein was about 28 ku. Western-blot analysis showed that the recombinant protein was recognized by the polyclonal antisera from rabbits immunized with Schistosoma japonicum adult worm antigen. Mice vaccinated with recombinant protein revealed significant worm burden, liver eggs per gram (LEPG), fecal eggs per gram (FEPG) and intrauterine eggs of the female worms reduction percentage, compared with the controls. Taken together, the SjHGPRT full-length cDNA can be cloned and expressed in E.coli as a recombinant protein that elicited immunity against the challenge infection with Schistosoma japonicum, indicating its potential as a partial protection vaccine candidate.

A 1 270 bp full-length cDNA fragment was obtained from the Schistosoma japonicum (Chinese strain) adult cDNA library after the '3' and 5' ends of the incomplete expression sequence tag (EST) of hypoxanthine-guanine phosphoribosyltransferase of Schistosoma japonicum (SjHGPRT) were amplified by the anchored PCR with 2 pairs of primer that were designed according to the published incomplete SjHGPRT EST and the sequence of multiclone sites of library λgt1 1 vector. ABSTRACT
Objective To study a simplified method for rapid isolation of the Schistosoma japonicum immature eggs for resolving the problems of the routine method which is tedious and difficult to get intact and high-purity eggs. Methods A modified method was devised on the basis of the previous experience through repetitive sievings followed by trypsin digestion and centrifugations. Results The immature eggs with fairly high purity were obtained within a short time. The isolated eggs remained intact and the rate of recovery was significantly increased. Conclusion This method has paved the way for future molecular biology research of the immature eggs of Schistosoma japonicum.
