ABSTRACT
Objective:To explore the impact of negation effect on color judgment of the color-word pairs and the impairment of cognitive inhibition function of the patients with schizophrenia (SCH) through embedding negation into the Stroop task. Methods:From January to December 2021, " Affirmative/ negative + color words" as the experimental materials, classical Stroop paradigm as the experimental paradigm, a mixed experimental design of 2 (groups: the SCH group vs the normal control group)×2(phrase polarity: affirmative phrases vs negative phrases)×2 (word-color congruence: consistency vs inconsistency) was designed to explore the inhibition function of negative phrases of the SCHs under bipolar negation conditions (Experiment 1) and multi-polar negation conditions (Experiment 2) respectively. The schizophrenic patients in Experiment 1(28 patients and 28 normal controls) and Experiment 2(30 patients and 30 normal controls) were sampled from the inpatients of Tangshan Kailuan Mental Health Center and Suzhou Guangji Hospital respectively, and the healthy controls were recruited from the community. SPSS 25.0 software was adopted as statistical analysis, and accuracy, response time of Stroop and the Stroop effect were analyzed by repeated measurement analysis of variance. Results:(1) The group main effects of response time were both significant in bipolar negation conditions(Experiment 1) ( F=49.22, P<0.001, ηp2=0.48) and multi-polar negation conditions (Experiment 2) ( F=37.58, P<0.001, ηp2=0.39). In bipolar negation (Experiment 1) conditions, as for the Stroop effect of response time, there was a significant interaction between the groups and polarities( F=4.42, P<0.05, ηp2=0.08), and there was a statistically significant difference between the affirmative Stroop effect (-0.137±0.522)and the negative Stroop effect(0.082±0.169) in the schizophrenia group( F=7.15, P<0.05, ηp2=0.12). In multi-polar negation conditions (Experiment 2), there was a marginal significant of the interaction between Stroop conditions and polarities in accuracy( F=3.81, P=0.056, ηp2=0.06). The accuracy under the word color consistency condition was higher than that under inconsistency condition((96.51±1.55)%, (90.00±2.54)%) ( F=5.15, P<0.05, ηp2=0.08). (3)In bipolar negation (Experiment 1) conditions, as for the accuracy, the interaction among groups, word color consistencies, and polarities was significant( F=6.66, P<0.05, ηp2=0.11). The interaction between word color consistencies and polarities was significant in the schizophrenia group( F=9.16, P<0.05, ηp2=0.15). In the normal group, the interaction between Stroop conditions and polarities was not significant( P>0.05). Conclusion:The impairment of cognitive inhibition function in schizophrenia is severe, which is reflected in negative processing; negation functions as cognitive inhibition, which is particularly prominent in bipolar negation.
ABSTRACT
cFos is one of the most widely-studied genes in the field of neuroscience. Currently, there is no systematic database focusing on cFos in neuroscience. We developed a curated database-cFos-ANAB-a cFos-based web tool for exploring activated neurons and associated behaviors in rats and mice, comprising 398 brain nuclei and sub-nuclei, and five associated behaviors: pain, fear, feeding, aggression, and sexual behavior. Direct relationships among behaviors and nuclei (even cell types) under specific stimulating conditions were constructed based on cFos expression profiles extracted from original publications. Moreover, overlapping nuclei and sub-nuclei with potentially complex functions among different associated behaviors were emphasized, leading to results serving as important clues to the development of valid hypotheses for exploring as yet unknown circuits. Using the analysis function of cFos-ANAB, multi-layered pictures of networks and their relationships can quickly be explored depending on users' purposes. These features provide a useful tool and good reference for early exploration in neuroscience. The cFos-ANAB database is available at www.cfos-db.net .

ABSTRACT
Alzheimer's disease (AD) is one of the major diseases that harmful to healthy elderly, and mild cognitive impairment (MCI) is the early clinical stage of AD. There is a lag in the clinical diagnosis of both diseases. An objective and reliable auxiliary diagnostic method is urgently needed to provide early diagnosis and differential indicators for AD and MCI, to predict the probability of individuals suffering from AD and MCI transforming into AD, and to reduce the overall incidence of AD and reduce the huge medical and economic burden for the country and society. Event-related potential is widely used in AD and MCI, and the resolution at the millisecond level can truly reflect the time course of cognitive processing and the degree of impairment of cognitive function in patients. In this study, we investigated the differences in the amplitude and latency of ERP components in healthy elderly, MCI and AD patients, and the correlation between ERP components and cognitive impairment. Early N170 and P200 showed high sensitivity and specificity in differentiating MCI from healthy elderly or MCI from AD. The late perception-related ERPs also showed high sensitivity and specificity in differentiating healthy elderly from MCI/AD. The differences in ERPs between MCI and AD may be related to the etiology, the degree of disease progression and the site of brain damage. The specific brain mechanism still need to be further explored and will be the focus of future research. With the progress of the research, the relationship between the specific ERP manifestations and the mechanism of brain injury as well as the impairment of cognitive function will be more clear. It is believed that the application of ERP in clinical will bring more benefits to AD and its early clinical MCI.
ABSTRACT
Objective To explore the role of college students' emotion regulation strategies in the relationship between emotion experiences and physical health.Method A total of 2 000 college students from a college in Hebei Province were tested randomly with the depression anxiety stress scale-21 (DASS-21),the emotion regulation questionnaire (ERQ) and the EuroQoL five-dimension questionnaire(EQ-5D).Results (1) Depression, anxiety and stress and expression suppression of male students (1(0,5),1(0,6),2(0,7),16.61±5.34,respectively) were higher than those of females(0(0,2),1(0,3),1(0,4),15.68±5.l0,respectively) (Z=-6.162,-3.108,-2.846,t=3.814,P<0.01);and cognitive reappraisal, visual analogue scales (EQ-VAS) and EQ-5D value indexes(EQ-5D) of male students(27.74±7.56,81.17 ± 18.29,0.94 ± 0.15,respectively)were lower than those of females (28.69 ± 6.34,84.23 ± 16.43,0.96 ± 0.11,respectively) (t=-2.967,-3.812,-3.837,P<0.01).(2) The scores of depression, anxiety and stress were positively correlated with expression suppression (r=0.096,0.080,0.066,P<0.01),and negatively correlated with cognitive reappraisal(r=-0.176,-0.160,-0.174,P<0.01) and EQ-VAS (r=-0.410,-0.437,-0.422,P<0.01).(3) Cognitive reappraisal played a moderating role in the effect of stress on physical health (R2 =0.191,P<0.01);and expression inhibition exerted a positive moderating role in that of depression on physical health (R2 =0.163,P<0.01).Conclusion College students' emotion regulation strategies play a moderating role in the effect of emotional state on physical health.
ABSTRACT
Objective:To analyze the reasons of early failure of the PHILOS in proximal humerus frac-tures.Methods:From Nov.2010 to Nov.2014,there were 117 patients with humerus fractures treated with PHILOS locking plate in Department of Orthopaedics,Xuanwu Hospital. All of the patients were treated with the plate by open reduction internal fixation, and we analyzed these cases retrospectively. After the operation,we removed the drainage tube within 48 h,and the patients were allowed to do the passive motion 3 days after the surgery if the X-Ray showed the plate and screws were reliable.Eight ca-ses failed within 4 weeks after the operation. We analyzed the reasons of the failure. Results:The rate of the failed cases was 6.83%(8 /117).The average age was 72.4(66 -82)years.In the 8 failed cases, 3 were on the right side, and the other 5 on the left side.As for the reason of the fractures,2 cases were because of car accidents, and the other 6 because of daily life injury.According to the Neer classifica-tion,3 cases were 2-part fractures, and the other 5 3-part fractures.Three cases were total failure, and the other 5 partial failure. All the 8 failed cases failed within 4 weeks after the operation,of which 1 was on the sixth day after surgery, the other 7 2 to 4 weeks after the surgery. The 3 totally failed cases were treated by removing the screws and plates, the other 5 by conservative methods. All of the cases were malunion at the end. Conclusion:The early failure of the PHILOS locking plate in proximal humerus fractures is related to the bad reduction during the operation, the loss of medial cortex support, the limi-tation of screw length, the osteoporosis and the improper rehabilitation after operation. It is very important to do good preoperative plan for a surgeon.During the operation,we should try our best in the fracture reduction, use the appropriate plate and screws, and then pay attention to the rehabilitation after the operation. After all of this, the rate of failure may be decreased.
