ABSTRACT

The prevalence of periodontal disease in Chinese population is more than 90%.The present treatment techniques can only control the development of the disease,inducement of bone tissue regeneration is a promising strategy and a challenge for the treatment.Exosomes are multivesicle structures derived from endosomes.More and more studies have been conducted on their application in perio-dontal regeneration.This paper reviews the application of exosome in periodontal regeneration in recent years,which is expected to pro-vide new idea for periodontal regeneration therapy.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To explore a type of teaching teeth that can highly simulate natural teeth, and to investigate its application in the practice teaching of crown preparations.Methods:A total of 44 senior students majoring in stomatology Fourth Military Medical University were selected, and each student received the training of crown preparations using interpenetrating polymer network (IPN) enamel-like teaching teeth, extracted natural teeth, and traditional composite resin teeth. Operation assessment was performed, and the operation time of each crown preparation was recorded. According to the requirements for crown preparations, scores were determined from the five aspects of axial converging, space for repair, line angle, shoulder quality, and posture, with 10 points for each aspect and 50 points in total, and the total score was calculated. A questionnaire survey on IPN enamel-like teeth was performed for each student after assessment, and SPSS 23.0 was used to perform the least significant difference t-test and the Tambane's T2 test. Results:There was no significant difference in total assessment score between the IPN enamel-like teeth group and the natural teeth group (37.15±1.17 vs. 37.20±1.20, P>0.05), and both groups had a significantly higher total score than the resin teeth group (31.53±1.41) ( P<0.05). The IPN enamel-like teeth group and the natural teeth group had significantly higher scores than the traditional composite resin teeth group in terms of axial converging, space for repair, and shoulder quality ( P<0.05). The questionnaire survey of the students showed a relatively high score of 3.7-4.9 for each item. Conclusion:Compared with traditional composite resin teeth, IPN enamel-like teeth can more comprehensively and effectively simulate the operation and experience of natural teeth for crown preparations and thus have potential advantages in the practice teaching of crown preparations.

ABSTRACT

By summarizing the standardized training of dental residents from 2015 in the Department of Prosthodontics of The Fourth Military Medical University, it's found that the traditional training method were less effective because of the great differences in the academic level, clinical practice ability and self-study ability of the residents. We have adopted the stratified-grading teaching mode, which divides the newly enrolled residents into A, B and C levels according to their scores. At the same time, we have divided the training process into three stages: reinforcing the foundation, increasing the various skills of prosthodontics, and improving the ability of self-study. And the stratified and segmented training and assessment has been carried out to finally achieve the ideal teaching effect.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To study the bone regeneration capacity of the BMSCs cell sheets combined with PRP used with dental implant. Methods: BMSCs were isolated from young SD rats and induced to form cell sheets(BMSCs); PRP were prepared from the fresh blood of rats; PRP gel with BMSCs fragments(BMSCs + PRP) were injected into the space of dental implant of Ti and β-TCP. BMSCs, PRP and BMSCs + PRP with the implant were respectively transplanted into nude mice(n = 6). 8 weeks after transplantation bone regeneration were examined by Micro CT and hard tissue slicing. Results: The group of BMSCs + PRP showed more new bone formation around implants with blood vessel than the group of BMSCs and PRP. Conclusion: BMSCs sheets with PRP can improve the bone regeneration around dental implants.

ABSTRACT

Objective To better understand the relationship between the maximum tumor diameter and the most distant micrometastases in different types of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and to provide histological evidence for the delineation of clinical target volume (CTV) from gross tumor volume.Methods We retrospectively studied the pathological specimens from 113 surgically treated NSCLC patients (44 squamous cell carcinoma patients and 69 adenocarcinoma patients) who were admitted to our hospital from 2014 to 2015.The maximum tumor diameter was determined by a combination of gross and microscopic measurements.Micrometastases were microscopically determined.The distances between the tumor edges and micrometastases outside the tumor boundaries were measured by an ocular micrometer followed by a calculation.Quantitative data were analyzed by t test, and qualitative data were analyzed by logistic regression.Results The regression relationship between the maximum tumor diameter and micrometastases was significant in the adenocarcinoma group, but not significant in the squamous cell carcinoma group (P=0.151).The association between the presence or absence of lymph node metastasis and the most distant micrometastasis was significant in the adenocarcinoma group, but not significant in the squamous cell carcinoma group (P=0.597).No association between the degree of tumor differentiation and the most distant micrometastasis was observed in either group (P=0.113).The average measurement of the most distant micrometastases was 2.94 mm in the adenocarcinoma group, with 7.5 mm as the distance to cover 95% of the most distant micrometastases.To reach the same coverage, 4 mm was needed for tumor size smaller than 3 cm, 6 mm for those between 3 cm and 5 cm, and 7.5 mm for those larger than 5 cm.The average measurement of the most distant micrometastases was 2.69 mm in the squamous cell carcinoma group, with 6 mm as the distance to cover 95% of the most distant micrometastases.Conclusions For NSCLC, the most distant micrometastasis of adenocarcinoma is associated with the maximum tumor diameter and presence or absence of lymph node metastasis, and the CTV should thus be adjusted accordingly;no relevance between the most distant micrometastasis and maximum tumor diameter is observed in squamous cell carcinoma;there is no relationship between the most distant micrometastasis and the degree of tumor differentiation in adenocarcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma.

ABSTRACT

Objective To package the recombination adeno-associated virus with human U6 promoter and c-met short hairpin in order to establish foundation for research on inhibiting the expression of c-Met and cancer gene therapy.Methods c-Met short hairpin was synthesized and linked to the down stream of U6 promoter by PCR.Adeno-associated viral vectors pSNAVUshMet(1,2) were constructed and transfected into BHK cells.Positive cell clones were selected by G418.Adeno-associated virus with U6shMet were packaged by adding rHSV1-repcap.The virus purity was analysed by SDS-PAGE and titer was assayed by dot blot.Results Two fragments(U6shMet1 and U6shMet2) with c-Met short hairpin were obtained and two recombination adeno-associated virus(rAAVUshMet1 and rAAVUshMet2) with U6shMet were packaged successfully.SDS-PAGE analysis showed that the purified virus appeared clear characterized bands.The virus titer was 4?1012mg?L-1.Conclusion The recombination adeno-associated virus(rAAVUshMet1 and rAAVUshMet2) with U6shMet are constructed successfully.The virus have high titer and good purity and could act as the effective vehicle of inhibiting the expression of c-Met and cancer gene therapy.

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To study the effect of Percoll selection technique on normal morphology and acrosin activity of human spermatoza.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>The sperm morphology and sperm acrosin activity were analyzed by automated sperm morphology analyzer(ASMA) and spectrocolorimetry.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>The normal morphology sperm rate and acrosin activity were significantly increased after Percoll selection technique (P < 0.001).</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>Percoll selection technique could affect normal morphology sperm ratio and acrosin activity.</p>

ABSTRACT

AIM: To study the molecular mechanism of reproduction dysfunction in pubertal diabetic rat, the level of 5?-reductase (type 2) mRNA in testis, epididymis and prostate in diabetic rat was detected. METHODS: The gene expression of 5?-reductase (type 2) was detected by Northern blot. RESULTS: In the caput of the epididymis, the expression of 5?-reductase (type 2) mRNA of D and ID groups was less than that of C group. CONCLUSION: The decreased expression of 5?-reductase (type 2) results in the decreased production of dihydrotestosterone, which influences the development and function of reproduction system in pubertal rats. ABSTRACT

AIM: To study the dynamic changes of free radicals and antioxidative system of prostate in rats with short-term diabetes. METHODS: 48 Wistar male rats were divided into 6 groups at random (8 rats in each group). One group were injected(ip) with sodium citrate buffer to be the control group, the other 5 groups were injected (ip) with steptozocin(STZ) 60mg/kg body weight which were called diabetes group. Rats were killed after 1, 3, 5, 7 and 14 days; superoxide dismutase(SOD), malondialdehyde(MDA), glutathione(GST), glutathione s-transferase(GST), glutathione peroxidase(GSH-px), nitric oxide (NO) and nitric oxide synthase(NOS) of prostate were examined. RESULTS: The levels of MDA, GSH-px and NO in prostate homogenate of diabetes group were higher evidently as compared with control levels. The activities of SOD, GST, NOS and the levels of GSH in prostate homogenate were increased obviously after injection of STZ with control levels, then returned near to control values. CONCLUSION: The evidences mentioned above indicate that high-level of free radicals and decrease in antioxidative system rendere the prostate cells to be in oxidative stress.

For observing immune response to sperm antigens in vasectomized rabbits and its relation to the change of blood lipids, 20 rabbits vasectomized 7-9 months were divided into V-S and V-Ch groups; 20 nonmal male rabbits used as control were divided into C-S and C-Ch groups. Experimental results have shown: under stock diet vasectomy does not give rise to hyperlipemia in vaseetomized rabbits, under cholesterol diet the levels of blood lipids are higher in V-Ch than that in C-Ch; humoral immune response to sperm antigens in vasectomized rabbits is not inhibited by experimental hyperlipemia, while cellular immune is inhibited slightly.

14 Japanese white male rabbits were used in this experiment, 7 of themwere sham operation group (SOG), 7 were vasectomized group (VG). The changes of testo-sterone receptor in prostate and serum testosterone were measured 16 months after vasec-tomy. The results showed that the Kd values in cytosol in VG and SOG were 10.21 nMand 3.42 nM and the Bmax were 33.68 and 10.42 fmol/mgpro. respectively; the Kd va-lues in nucleus were 9.36 and 4.81 nM and Bmax were 440.90 and 203.66 fmol/mg DNArespectively.
