ABSTRACT

Objective To study the role of lipid metabolic disorders of liver in the formation of calcium bilirubinate gallstone caused by biliary partial obstruction and infection in rabbits. Methods Forty-nine rabbits were divided randomly into 3 groups: the gallstone group A (n=15) and B (n=22), and the control group (group C, n=12). The calcium bilirubinate gallstone model was set up by using partial biliary obstruction and infection in rabbits. Following items were measured:(1)Concentration of plasma triglyceride (TG), phospholipids (PL), total cholesterol (TCh), free cholesterol (FCh), cholesterol with high desitity lipoprotein and its sub-components (HDL-Ch, HDL 2-Ch and HDL 3-Ch); (2)Concentration of bile glycocholic acid (GCA), glycodeoxycholic acid (GDCA) and FCh. Results (1) Compared with group C, the plasma PL increased sighificantly in both group A (P0.05). The plasma HDL-Ch in group B and HDL 2-Ch in group A and B were significantly lower than those in group C (P

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the effects of radix salviae miltiorrhiaze(RSM) on the expression of Fas, perforin and bcl 2 mRNA in liver ischemia reperfusion(I R). Methods 45 patients were divided into three groups: Control group(group 1, n=5); I R group(group 2, n=20), and RSM pretreatment group(group 3, n=20). The patients in group 2 and group 3 subjected to hepatic resection with “Pringle procedure” for 15?min. Expression of Fas, perforin and bcl 2 mRNA were examined with reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT PCR) after liver reperfusion for 40?min. Results Expression of Fas, perforin were very weak in control group(0.144?0.037; 0.106?0.032), but increased in group 2(0.928?0.135; 1.099?0.364); and in group 3 was significantly lower(0.347?0.081; 0.454?0.116)than that in group 2(P

ABSTRACT

Objective To study the causes, significance of alteration of PtiO 2, PtiCO 2 and pHti in liver tissue during liver ischemia reperfusion (I R). Methods After rabbits were anesthetized, liver ischemia was induced by complete occlusion of the hepatoduodenal ligment for 45 min, then the portal and arterial flow were released, and observed for 120 min for measuring the PtiO 2, PtiCO 2 and pHti in liver tissue and the pathology of the liver during ischemia reperfusion. Results After 15 min of hepatic vascular occlusion, PtiO 2 decreased to 4 mmHg, PtiCO 2 increased fast to (149.63?9.80) mmHg (P

ABSTRACT

Objective To study the mechanism of serum thyroxin and insulin change after hemihepatectomy. Methods The hemihepatectomy was performed in rabbits, the fasting peripheral blood samples were drawn on the day prior to surgery, and 24 hour, 48 hour, the first week, one month after operation respectively for monitoring the serum thyroxin and insulin. Results The level of TT 3 was (1.93?0.47) nmol/L, TT 4 (53.56?8.4) nmol/L preoperatively. The levels of TT 3 and TT 4 significantly decreased at 24 hour postoperatively, and gradually rose at 48 hour and up to normal levels in the first month postoperatively. The level of insulin rapidly rose immediately after operation, and began to decrease in the first week, and returned to the preoperative level in one month after operation. Conclusions The syndrome of normal thyroid disease and the syndrome of non thyroid disease can occur after hemihepatectomy; and hyperinsulinemia also can occur after hemihepatectomy.
