ABSTRACT

Introducción: Los conocimientos en Farmacología tienen un lugar destacado en el ejercicio de la Enfermería. Es imprescindible que el estudiante de Enfermería en lo académico pueda asimilar todos los aspectos de la Farmacología durante la formación universitaria. Objetivo: Describir los resultados académicos en Farmacología de los estudiantes de Enfermería de la Universidad Kimpa Vita de Uíge en Angola. Materiales y Métodos: Estudio retrospectivo de los estudiantes de tercero, cuarto y quinto años de Licenciatura en Enfermería. La Farmacología se impartió por el programa de estudio de 2008 de Cuba, y se utilizó el sistema de evaluación establecido en Angola. Se revisaron las actas de examen y se aplicó una pregunta de respuesta simple para evaluar el nivel de conocimientos en el tema fármacos antimicrobianos y antiparasitarios. Resultados: Los resultados en Farmacología I fueron fundamentalmente:suficiente (74,83 por ciento), y en Farmacologia II: suficiente (61,57 por ciento) y bien (34,01 por ciento). Los resultados del tema evaluado fueron principalmente en los estudiantes de tercer año: suspensos (41,75 por ciento), cuarto año: suficiente (45,10 por ciento), y en quinto año: suficiente (32,58 por ciento) y bien (37,08 por ciento). Conclusiones: Los resultados en Farmacología se obtienen por el progreso en los métodos de estudio, la atencion individualizada al estudiante y la integración de sus contenidos en las disciplinas propias de la profesión(AU)


Introduction: The knowledge of Pharmacology has a significant importance in the practice of Nursing. It is indispensable that the Nursing student achieves the assimilation of knowledge of all the aspects of Pharmacology from the academic point of view during the university formation. Objectives: To describe the academic results in Pharmacology obtained by Nursing students of the Kimpa Vita University of Uíge in Angola. Materials and Methods: A retrospective study was carried out with third, fourth and fifth year Nursing students. Pharmacology was taught according to the Cuban curriculum of 2008, and the evaluation system established in Angola was used. Official documents were reviewed, and a question with a simple answer was applied to evaluate the level of knowledge of antimicrobial and anti-parasitic drugs. Results: The results in Pharmacology I were mainly satisfactory (74.83 percent); and in Pharmacology II they were satisfactory (61.57 percent) and good (34.01 percent). The results of the evaluation related to the topics were: third-year students: failed (41.75 percent); fourth-year students: satisfactory (45.10 percent), and fifth-year ones: satisfactory (32.58 percent and good (37, 08 percent). Conclusions: The results in Pharmacology are achieved by the progress in the study methods, the individualized attention to the student, and the integration of their contents to the disciplines related to the profession(AU)

ABSTRACT

Introducción: los procesos de formación profesional exigen en nuestros días su constante perfeccionamiento, para ello se realizan estudios que refieren su eficiencia y calidad, en los que se consideran los resultados de promoción y calificaciones docentes como indicadores cuantitativos. Objetivo: describir los resultados docentes de la disciplina Informática Médica en el Programa de Medicina Integral Comunitaria en el período de 2010 a 2012. Métodos: se realizó un estudio descriptivo longitudinal que expone, a partir del registro de los resultados de promoción de las asignaturas que conforman la disciplina, el cálculo de la promoción total al concluir el calendario académico de cada curso y el resumen de los errores por preguntas de los exámenes teóricos ordinarios. Resultados: la asignatura Informática Médica I exhibe un similar comportamiento en las calificaciones de los años en estudio. En la asignatura Informática Médica II se muestra una analogía en el porciento de promoción de las calificaciones extremas en los dos últimos años. Conclusiones: la asignatura Informática Médica II (Estadística) mantiene indicadores de promoción discretamente inferiores a Informática Médica I, siendo los contenidos de Álgebra de Eventos los de mayor dificultad para los estudiantes.


Introduction: the professional formation processes demand in our days permanent improvement, and to this end, efficiency and quality studies in which the promotion results and educational qualifications are considered as quantitative indicators. Objective: to describe the educational results for the medical Informatics subject in the National Program of Community-based Integral Medicine developed in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela during the period 2010-2012. Methods: a longitudinal and descriptive study was conducted which presented the estimation of the total promotion index after the end of each academic year and the summary of the mistakes made in each of the regular theoretical exams, on the basis of the registration of the promotion results in the subjects of this discipline. Results: the subject Medical Informatics I behaved similarly throughout the marks attained in the studied years. In the medical informatics II subject, analogy was found in the percentages of promotion for the extreme marks for the last two study years. Conclusions: the Medical Informatics II subject (Statistics) keep promotion indicators slightly lower than those of Medical Informatics I, being the contents of event algebra the most difficult ones for the students.

ABSTRACT

Se realizó un estudio que tuvo como objetivos caracterizar las condiciones ambientales de los hogares de los educandos de primaria del Consejo Popular "Cayo Hueso", del Municipio de Centro Habana, en el curso escolar 2006-2007, e identificar la relación entre las condiciones ambientales existentes y los resultados académicos obtenidos en ese período. El estudio fue complejo, combinado, de tipo transversal, descriptivo y analítico (caso y control). Se estudiaron los educandos de primer a sexto grados de las seis instituciones educacionales de la enseñanza primaria del Consejo Popular "Cayo Hueso", del municipio de Centro Habana, durante el curso escolar antes mencionado. Para cumplir los objetivos propuestos, a todas las madres se les aplicó un cuestionario con preguntas que exploraron la historia educacional de los hijos, sus hábitos y comportamientos. Los resultados se expresaron en porcentajes por instituciones educacionales. Se identificaron condiciones de vida inadecuadas en las viviendas de los educandos que pueden actuar como factores de riesgo a su salud o al aprendizaje. La ingestión de alcohol y el hábito de fumar dentro de las viviendas, así como el riesgo social en su entorno, fueron los hábitos inadecuados que más se relacionaron con los problemas de aprendizaje.


The objective of present study was to characterize the identified environmental conditions and the academic results of students. Study was complex and combined and cross-sectional, descriptive and analytical (case-control). The students from first to sixth degrees from the six educational institutions of primary education from the above mentioned council. To fulfill the proposed objectives, in all mothers we applied a questionnaire with questions to explore the educational history of theirs children, habits and behaviors. Results were expressed in percentages by educational institutions. The conditions of a inappropriate life at homes of students were identified that may be like risk factors for health of for learning. Alcohol ingestion and smoking at home, as well as the social risk of its environment, were the inappropriate habits more related to learning problems.

ABSTRACT

Este trabalho teve como objetivo identificar as práticas sociais que sustentam resultados acadêmicos superiores em dois programas de doutorado em administração: USP e UFRGS. Utiliza como indicador de resultados acadêmicos a avaliação trienal da Capes (2004-2007). Emprega uma abordagem epistemológica interpretativa e social construtivista e tem como orientação teórica a corrente conhecida como estratégia como prática social. O referencial teórico é constituído de dois tópicos que discutem: a estratégia como prática social; pós-graduação stricto sensu e doutorado em administração no Brasil. A pesquisa empírica foi de natureza qualitativa e se constitui em uma análise comparativa de casos. Entre os principais resultados da pesquisa, evidencia-se que determinadas características e atividades da coordenação, dos doutorandos e dos professores são relevantes, como: comprometimento e dedicação, por parte dos doutorandos; valorização da pesquisa e estar em contato com o mundo real das organizações, por parte dos professores; coordenar o programa e proporcionar incentivos com base nas métricas da Capes, por parte da coordenação dos cursos. Com relação às práticas coletivas, destaca-se a atuação de todos os atores em grupos de pesquisa e com produção científica em conjunto.


This study aims to identify the social practices that support higher academic achievement in two doctoral programs in management: USP, UFRGS. Using as an indicator of academic achievement the Capes (2004-2007) indicators and as epistemological approach interpretationism. The theoretical background is the social constructivist with the framework known as the current strategy as social practice consisting of two topics, post-graduate and doctorate management programs in Brazil. The empirical research was qualitative and constitutes a comparative analysis of two cases. The most important results of this research shows that certain characteristics and activities of the coordination, the professors and the doctoral students are important, such as: commitment and dedication of the students; enhancement of research and be in touch with the real world of organizations as an important role of the professors, provide incentives based on metrics from Capes, by the coordination of the courses. With respect to collective practices, highlight the importance of all actors in the research groups.

ABSTRACT

Determinados hábitos y comportamientos son más frecuentes en educandos con malos resultados académicos, por ser sus causas o consecuencias. El objetivo del actual trabajo fue identificar la relación entre los hábitos o comportamientos de vida inadecuados, con los malos resultados académicos de los alumnos de una secundaria básica del municipio Habana Vieja. Se realizó un estudio de tipo transversal, en los 1 129 alumnos de una Escuela Secundaria Básica del Municipio Habana Vieja en Ciudad de La Habana, en el curso 2003-2004. Se identificaron los hábitos y comportamientos inadecuados mediante una encuesta a los educandos y el resultado académico se evaluó por las notas obtenidas en las asignaturas del año en curso, los cuales se clasificaron en 2 categorías, denominados con "malos resultados académicos" (una o más asignaturas con menos de 60 puntos) y "con buenos resultados académicos" (cuando no tuvieron asignaturas con menos de 60 puntos). Se encontró que los siguientes hábitos y comportamientos inadecuados predominaron en los educandos con malos resultados académicos: no jugar al aire libre, jugar videojuegos, no leer en el tiempo libre, no merendar en las mañanas, ir a discotecas, no ingerir vegetales, malas relaciones interpersonales con coetáneos, profesores, madres y padres, tener relaciones sexuales antes de los 14 años, cambios frecuentes de parejas sexuales, no uso del condón, violencia hacia otros, pensar que el suicidio resuelve los problemas. En ambos grupos, los porcentajes fueron similares en aspectos como: ver televisión en exceso, dormir tiempo insuficiente, tener accidentes, cometer infracciones del tránsito.


Specific habits and behaviors are more frequent among students with poor academic results as causes or consequences. The objective of present paper was to identify the relation among the poor habits or behaviors of life to the poor academic results of the students from a Basic Secondary School of the Habana Vieja municipality. A cross-sectional study was conducted in the 1 129 students from above mentioned educational level in 2003-2004 courses. The inappropriate habits and behaviors were identified by means of a survey applied to students and the academic result was assessed according to the marks obtained in the subjects of present year which were classified in two categories: "poor academic results (one or more subjects with less than of 60 points) and "good academic results" (when there were not subjects with less than 60 points). There was predominance of inappropriate habits and behaviors in students with poor academic results: not to play in the open air, to play video games, not to read in the spare time, not to have snack in the morning, to go to discotheques, not to consume vegetables before 14 years old, poor interpersonal relationships with contemporaries, professors, and parents, frequent changes of sexual partner, not to use condom, to do violence to others persons, to think that suicide solve the problems. En both groups, the percentages were similar in features like: to see television in excess, not to sleep enough, to have accidents and to commit traffic infringements.

ABSTRACT

It is a popular practice for Chinas academia to regard SCI(Science Citation Index)and its IF(Impact Factor)as fundamental indexes for research competency evaluatiop.This article however holds that SCI and IF are but quantitative measurements for evaluating periodicals,and whether it is scientific to evaluate research results with such indexes as they are remains to be jusfified.It also suggests that practitioners in research organizations fully comprehend the meaning of SCI and IF,and use them correctly,so as to guide researchers to contribute their works to proper publishers.
