ABSTRACT

Bi Qiu in TCM is the equivalent of allergic rhinitis in Western Medicine, its incidence has a close relationship with six exogenous. Many physicians treat this disease from the pathogenic wind and cold, relatively considering about pathogenic heat. This article reviewed and researched literature about ancient physicians’ diagnosis and treatment of allergic rhinitis from the aspects of etiology, pathogenesis, and treatment of allergic rhinitis, with a purpose to provide certain evidence and reference for modern clinical prevention and treatment of allergic rhinitis.

ABSTRACT

The apprentice system is the principal succession method of ancient Chinese medicine. Masters pass down knowledge via verbal instructions as well as personal deeds, and apprentices are unconsciously influenced deeply within by what they see and hear from masters. That is where the strong point of the system. However, at the same time, apprentices are confined by their master’s instructions and learn only a part of the knowledge. It is the profound meaning rather than the form, that truly represents the modern value of the system. Traditional Chinese medicine stresses the cultivation of medical ethics, purification of learning motivation, study of classic works, solid foundation of basic skills and clinical practice. It also advocates that apprentices should be led and taught in accordance to his aptitude.

ABSTRACT

The ancient Chinese medicine had a rich theoretical treasure of medical ethics,including the medical purpose of disease prevention,disease treatment for the sake and benefit of mankind,the academic attitude of extensive and sophisticated medical knowledge and skills among medical practitioners,and the moral requirement of fairness,modesty and prudent lofty quality,and so on.Although the current medical environment has changed a lot,theories of ancient medical ethics,which was formed based on the long time experience of ancient medical scientist during their medical practice,is still of great value for the construction of medical ethics in our country nowadays.
