ABSTRACT
OBJECTIVE: To study the chemical constituents of Dendrobium officinale. METHODS: Various column chromatographic techniques were used to separate and purify the chemical constituents and their structures were elucidated by spectral analysis. RESULTS: Seven compounds were isolated and identified as apigenin-6, 8-di-C-β-S-O-glucopyranoside (I), apigenin-6-C-α-L-arabi-nopyranosyl- 8-C-β-D-xylopyranoside(II), apigenin-6-C-(2″-O-β-D- glucopyranosyl)-α-L-arabinopyranoside (III), apigenin-8-C-(2″-O-β-D- glucopyranosyl)-α-L-arabinopyranoside(IV), quercetin-3-O-β-D-rutinoside(V), D-sucrose(VI), and β-sitosterol-3-O-β-D-gluco-pyranoside (VII). CONCLUSION: The compounds I-V were isolated from Dendrobium officinale Kimura et Migo for the first time.
