ABSTRACT
Aim To investigate the effect of Lulong Zaisheng Decoction II on chemotherapy-induced bone marrow suppression in nude mice bearing colorectal cancer. Methods Male BALB/C nude mice were inoculated with human colon cancer cell HT-29 under the armpit. The tumor bearing nude mice were randomly divided into five groups: control group, chemotherapy group, positive drug group, Lulong Zaisheng Decoction II groups with high and low doses. The mice were given drugs by gavage once a day for 10 consecutive days. From the fourth day of the experiment, except for the control group, the nude mice were intraperitoneally injected with 5-FU at dose of 25 mg • kg

Objective To investigate Caspase 3 activity in the ischemia reperfusion injury in rats and the protective effect of ischemic preconditioning and its possible mechanism.Methods 30 rats were randomly assigned to ischemia reperfusion (IR) group, ischemic preconditioning(IP) group,sham-operation(S)group.The serum aspartate transaminase (AST),alanine transaminase(ALT),liver caspase 3 activity,and apoptosis index(AI) of hepatocytes were examined in the three groups at 3 hours after repersusion.Results The serum AST,ALT,liver caspase 3 activity and apoptotic hepatocytes were significantly higher in both IP and IR groups than those in S group(P

Objective To inquire into the relationship between infections of Toxoplasma gondii and apoptosis of spermatogenic cells. Methods Apoptotic spermatogenic cells of mice infected with Toxoplasma gondii were examined by Wright-Giemsa staining and terminal deoxynucleotidyl trans-Icrase (TdT) mediated deoxyuridine triphosphate (dUTP)-biotin nick-end labeling (TUNED techniques. Results Apoptosis rate of infective group of Toxoplasma was significantly higher than thai oi control group (F
