ABSTRACT

Isolated Congenital Heart Block (CHB) affects 1:15000-20000 live births. 30-50% of fetuses with CHB will have a structural anomaly. Congenital heart block detected in utero is strongly associated with maternal antibodies to SSA (Ro) and SSB (La). Their pathogenic role in the development of CHB has been established in several studies. The mothers of affected infants frequently had autoimmune disease (systemic lupus erythematosus, Sjögren's syndrome) or were entirely asymptomatic. We report a case of fetal isolated congenital heart block in an asymptomatic mother with anti-SSA/SSB antibodies.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the dynamic changes of serum autoimmune antibodies before and during treatment in auto-immune liver disease(AILD)and to study their clinical application and the practical significance. Methods The indirect immunoin-fluorescence was used to measure serum anti-nuclear antibody(ANA)on admission and at different clinical treatment time (1,3,12, 24 months)in 64 cases of autoimmune hepatitis(AIH)and 57 cases of primary biliary cirrhosis(PBC).At the same time the immu-noblot analysis was adopted to detect the liver disease related antibodies (anti-AMA-M2 antibody,anti-Sp100 antibody,anti-gp210 antibody,anti-LKM-1 antibody,anti-LC-1 antibody and anti-SLA antibody). The correlation analysis was performed by combining with the detection results of the liver enzymology. Results The detection rate of serum ANA before treatment was 57.8% in the AIH patients and 61.4% in the PBC patients respectively, and the titer was mostly distributed in 1∶320 and 1∶640.During treat-ment,the positive rate and titer of serum ANA in the AILD patients had no obvious change with the disease condition relief(P>0.05);in the liver disease antibodies detection, only anti-AMA-M2 antibody,anti-Sp100 antibody and anti-gp210 antibody were de-tected in the PBC patients, and the detection rates were in turn 73.7%,17.5% and 26.3% respectively;6 items of antibody were detected to different extent in the AIH patients, but which was dominated by the specific detection of anti-LKM-1 antibody,anti-LC-1 antibody and anti-SLA antibody;the liver function indexes in the ALID patients were gradually recovered after 1,3,12,24 months treatment(P0.05).Conclusion The autoimmune antibodies detection plays a very important role in diagnosis and differential diagnosis of AILD,but which has no change with the disease condition relief, thus can not be used as the index of the clinical curative effect observation.

ABSTRACT

Objective To study whether the correlation exists between 6 kinds of autoimmune antibodies and female infertility . Methods The protein microarray technique was adopted to detect serum antibodies of anti-sperm antibodies(ASAb) ,anti-endome-trial(AEmAb) ,anti-zona pellucida(AZpAb) ,anti-ovarian(AVoAb) ,anti-hCG(AhCG Ab) and anti-trophoblastic(ATAb) in 140 ca-ses of female infertility and the correlation between these 6 kinds of antibody with female infertility was evaluated .Results Com-pared with the control group ,except AvoAb ,the positive rates of other 5 kinds of antibody had statistically significant differences (P0 .05) .The positive rate of ANA had no statistical difference between the infertility group and the control group (P>0 .05) ,but the titers of ANA in the experimenter were ≥1∶100(6/7) and most of karyotypes were nuclear coarse (5/7) ,which was differed from the low positive titer in the control group .The positive rate of ANA had statistical difference between the infertility related antibody positive and the infertility related antibody negative in the infertility patients .Conclusion ASAb ,AZpAb AEmAb , AhCGAb and ATAb are related with female sterility .The combined detection of these 6 kinds of antibody can significantly increase the detection sensitivity .

ABSTRACT

AIM: In our study, we investigated the levels of glutamic acid decarboxylase antibody (anti-GAD), islet cell antibody (ICA), thyroperoxidase antibody (anti-TPO), thyroglobulin antibody (anti-TG), antinuclear antibodies (FANA), antibodies to double-stranded DNA (anti-ds DNA), antibody to Sjõgren syndrome A antigen (anti-SSA), antibody to Sjõgren syndrome B antigen (anti-SSB), Smith antibody (anti-Sm), smooth muscle antibodies (ASMA), and antimitochondrial antibody liver-kidney microsome (AMA-LKM) in patients with celiac disease as compared to healthy controls and autoimmune hypothyroid patients. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A total of 31 patients with celiac disease, 34 patients with autoimmune hypothyroidism and 29 healthy subjects were included in this study. Anti-SSA, anti-SSB, anti-Sm, anti-ds DNA, anti-GAD, anti-TPO and anti-TG were studied by Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA), and AMA-LKM, ASMA, ANA and ICA were studied by immunofluorescence. Clinical data and the results of free thyroxine-thyroid stimulating hormone (FT4-TSH) were collected from the patients' files by retrospective analysis. SPSS ver 13.0 was used for data analysis, and the χ2 method was used for comparisons within groups. RESULTS: The frequency of anti-SSA, anti-SSB, anti-GAD, anti-Sm, anti-ds DNA, AMA-LKM, ASMA, ANA and ICA were not significantly different between the groups. Levels of anti-TPO and anti-TG antibodies were found to be significantly higher (<0.001) in autoimmune hypothyroid patients when compared with other groups. CONCLUSION: In previous studies, an increased frequency of autoimmune diseases of other systems has been reported in patients with celiac disease. We found that the frequency of autoimmune antibodies specific for other autoimmune diseases was not higher in celiac disease.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To analyse clinical signification of four kinds of autoimmune antibodies in the patients with viral hepatitis. Methods:ANA RF,anti TM and dsDNA Ab in sera of patients with viral hepatitic disease were detected by means of indirect immune fluerscence(IIF) and ELISA.Results:12 of 63 (19.1%) were only one kind of autoimmune antibody in sera of patients with hepatitis B and 12 of 40(30%) of patients with hepatitis C.There were significantly higher than those of alcoholic and drug hepatitis group(P
