ABSTRACT

Oral swellings and ulcers in neonates are a spectrum of diseases often creating a sense of anxiety among parents. Early detection, high index of suspicion, proper investigations, and prompt diagnosis can aid in accurate management of the same. Lymphangiomas are benign hamartomas which are basically malformed lymphatics do not drain into other lymphatics or veins and hence there is lymphatic accumulation and enlargement following cystically dilated spaces. We hereby present a rare case of a neonate born with a cystic mucosal swelling at the upper gingival sulcus since birth.

ABSTRACT

The simple mesothelial cyst is a rare cause of the mesenteric cysts. The size of this lessons are usually of a few centimeters andasymptomatic so the diagnosis is based on imaging studies orintra operatory findings. Clinical case: We report a female patient of 40 years old who had a simple mesothelial cyst of big size andsymptomatic, which was managed by a complete surgical excision, being this method the treatment of choice. The symptoms that thepatient described, the previous pelvic surgery and the tumor dimensions had the characteristics of a benign cystic mesothelioma. However, the unilocular characteristic allow to categorize it like asimple mesothelial cyst. The differentiation between both lessonsis not academic due to the fact that the benign cyst mesotheliomahas a high relapse and even could become a malignant lesson(AU)

ABSTRACT

Eruption cyst is a benign cyst associated with a primary or permanent tooth in its soft tissue phase after erupting through the bone. It is most prevalent in the Caucasian race. Intraoral examination of four patients revealed eruption cyst. Among these, in three patients it occurred in the maxillary arch and one had it in the mandibular arch. All were associated with permanent tooth. Surgical treatment was done in three cases and in one case the cyst disappeared gradually and tooth erupted in normal pattern. Four cases of eruption cyst from India are presented and literature on this condition is reviewed. It is clinically significant in that knowledge among general dentists is very essential regarding this developmental disturbance to reach the correct diagnosis and to provide proper treatment.
