ABSTRACT

Objective To observe the clinical therapeutic effect of Bushen Huoxue formula for treatment of diabetic nephropathy at G3a stage. Methods Sixty patients with stage G3a diabetic nephropathy were admitted to the Department of Nephrology of Affiliated Hospital of Tianjin Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine from June 2017 to June 2018, and according to difference in treatment, they were divided into an integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine treatment group and a western medicine treatment group with 30 cases in each group. The two groups were treated with Huangkui capsule 2.5 g/time, 3 times a day; the integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine treatment group was additionally given Bushen Huoxue formula, one dose daily, twice a day taken orally; 2 months for 1 course. The changes of 24-hour urinary protein, serum creatinine (SCr) and urea nitrogen (BUN) were observed after 3 courses of treatment. Results After 3 courses of treatment, the levels of 24-hour urinary protein, SCr and BUN of the integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine treatment group were lower than those of the western medicine treatment group [24-hour urinary protein quantification (g): 1.45±0.26 vs. 2.11±0.35, SCr (μmol/L): 105.15±12.31 vs. 158.32±17.26, BUN (mmol/L): 7.26±2.41 vs. 12.87±3.24], the differences being statistically significant (all P < 0.05). The total effective rate of integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine treatment group was significantly higher than that of western medicine treatment group [86.67% (26/30) vs. 53.33% (16/30), P < 0.05]. Conclusion Bushen Huoxue formula in the treatment of patients with diabetic nephropathy at stage G3a can decrease their urinary protein and SCr, BUN significantly.

ABSTRACT

Objective To observe the effects of Bushen Huoxue Formula on free radical metabolism and p16 protein expression in heart of aged rats; To discuss its protective mechanism to the heart of aged rats. Methods One hundred were divided into young control group, the natural aging group,Bushen HuoxueFormula high-, medium- and low-dose groups, with 20 rats in each group. Each medication group was given relevant medicine for gavage, once a day for 16 weeks. 1 hour after the last administration, after the rats were sacrificed, serum and heart were taken. The contents of NO and MDA and activities of CAT and SOD in serum and myocardial,β-galactosidase enzyme and p16 protein expression in myocardial tissue were detected.ResultsCompared with the natural aging group, NO content and SOD activity in the serum of rats inBushen Huoxue Formula high-dose group increased significantly (P<0.05) and MDA content in allBushen Huoxue Formula groups decreased (P<0.01); NO content, CAT and SOD activity in the myocardial tissue of rats inBushen HuoxueFormula high-dose group increased significantly, and MDA content decreased significantly (P<0.05). CAT activity in allBushen HuoxueFormula groups increased (P<0.05,P<0.01).β-galactosidase enzyme and p16 protein expression in myocardial tissue in allBushen Huoxue Formula groups decreased. Conclusion Bushen Huoxue Formula can in hibit the aging of myocardial-aged rats, and the mechanism might be related to its anti-oxidative damage and inhibition of tumor suppressor gene p16 expression.

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To compare the efficacy differences between ginger-separated moxibustion atpoints combined withformula andformula alone on patients with decreased ovarian reserve function.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>Fifty patients of decreased ovarian reserve function were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group, 25 cases in each one. The patients in the observation group were treated with ginger-separated moxibustion atpoints combined withformula; the moxibustion was given for 1.5 h, once every seven days, and no treatment was given during menstrual period. The patients in the control group were treated withformula. One-month treatment was taken as one treatment course, and totally three courses were given. The change of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH), estradiol (E), anti-mullerian hormone (AMH), antral follicle count (AFC), peak systolic velocity (PSV), resistance index (RI) were observed before and after treatment in the two groups.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>After treatment, the FSH, FSH/LH and RI were significantly lowered, but the E, AFC, PSV were significantly increased in the two groups (all<0.05); the FSH, FSH/LH and Ein the observation group were lower and AFC was higher than those in the control group (all<0.05).</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>The ginger-separated moxibustion atpoints combined withformula are superior toformula alone in improving ovarian reserve function.</p>
