ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the correlations of the levels of serum total cholesterol (TC),high density lipoprotein(HDL),and low density lipoprotein (LDL) with tumor node metastasis (TNM) staging and Lauren's classification in gastric cancer. Methods The blood lipid levels of 157 cases of gastric cancers,80 cases of benign gastric diseases, and 80 cases of normal subjects were detected by the Hitachi 7170A automatic biochemical instrument, and these values were statistically compared with SPSS 19.0.Results The contents of serum TC,HDL,and LDL in the group of gastric cancers were lower than those in the groups of normal subjects and benign gastric diseases (P < 0.05).The contents of serum HDL levels were decreased with the increase of the TNM stage in patients with gastric cancer, and were all lower than the benign gastric diseases and the health control group (P < 0.05).No statistically significant correlation was found in the levels of serum TC,HDL,and LDL in Lauren's histological types of gastric cancers (P <0.05).Conclusions Abnormal lipid metabolism had already appeared in gastric cancer, and the decreased serum HDL levels was correlated with TNM stage of gastric cancer.Detection of the changes of lipid levels in patients might be beneficial to the screening and prognosis of gastric cancer.

ABSTRACT

0.05),but the decrease of 2-hour postprandial blood glucose level and the increase of ISI in group A were superior to those in group B (P0.05).For the therapeutic effect,11 patients were cured,24 markedly effective,22 effective,13 ineffective and the total effective rate was 81.43% in group A;5 patients were cured,6 markedly effective,11 effective,13 ineffective and the total effective rate was 62.86% in group B.No obvious toxic and side effects were observed in the two groups during the treatment.【Conclusion】Yang-warming and spleen-strengthening therapy combined with antihyperglycemic drugs exerts a better effect on the treatment of insulin resistance in type 2 diabetes.

ABSTRACT

[Objective] To observe the therapeutic effect of electroacupuncture (EA) for nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). [Methods] One hundred and eight cases were randomized into two groups. Sixty NASH patients in EA group (group A) were treated by EA on Fenglong point with needie retaining for 10 min, once per day, breaking for one day after a 6-day treatment and repeating the treatment in the following weeks. Forty-eight in positive control group (group B) were given glucrolactone 0.2 g, tid and atorvastatin Tablets 10 mg, qd for 8 weeks. The therapeutic effect in the two groups was evaluated after treatment and the parameters of hepatic function, blood lipid and hepatic fibrosis, as well as the adverse reaction were observed before and after treatment. [Results] The total effective rate was 91.70% in EA group and 83.30% in the positive control group, the difference being significant (P

ABSTRACT

To explore the effects of Quyu Xiaoban Capsule (QXC) on blood lipid level and platelet activity in coronary heart disease (CHD).A randomized single blinded trial was adopted in 62 cases of CHD. Thirty one cases (control group) were treated with routine western medicine and the rest (QXC group) with QXC added. Serum levels of total cholesterols (TC), triglycerides (TG), high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL C) and platelet-activating ? granule membrane protein (GMP 140) were detected before and after treatment. After ten weeks of treatment, GMP 140, TC and TG levels were decreased to various degrees in QXC group, the differences being significant as compared with those in control group and those in QXC group before treatment (P0 05).[Conclusion]QXC can decrease the blood lipid level and improve platelet activity and has a certain effect in preventing and treating CHD.

ABSTRACT

【Objective】To investigate the therapeutic effect of Turbidity-resolving and Stasis-removing Prescription(TSP) for the treatment of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NFLD).【Methods】One hundred and thirteen NFLD patients were randomized into groups A and B according to their consulting order.Group A(N=61) received oral use of TSP 100 mL,bid, and group B(N=52) received oral use of ursodesoxycholic acid(UDCA) 150 mg,tid. The treatment lasted 2 months.【Results】The total effective rate was 85.2% in group A,superior to 51.9% in group B (P

ABSTRACT

[Objective] To observe the pharmacological action of Ganoderma Lucidum Brewage (GLB) in decreasing blood lipid. [ Methods ] Eighty rats were randimized into 8 groups: blank control (Group A), model ( Group B) high-dose GLB ( Group C), moderate-dose GLB ( Group D), low-dose GLB ( Group E), Ganoderma Lucidum Decoction (Group F), Ganoderma Lucidum Capsule (Group G) and Xuezhi Kang (Group H). So did the mice. Hyperlipidemia mouse models and rat models were induced by yolk and high-fat diet respectively. Effect of GBL in various doses to decrease blood lipid was observed in the two kinds of hyperlipidemia models and was compared with that of Xuezhi Kang, Ganoderma Lucidum Decoction and Ganoderma Lucidum Capsule. [Results] GLB could decrease the serum contents of triglycerides and cholesterol both in model mice and model rats (P

ABSTRACT

Niaodukang is an effective formula used in the second affiliated hospithal of Guangzhou Universityof TCM for chronic renal failure, which is composed of Rhizoma Rhei,Radix Polygoni Multiflori,Radix Astragali seu Hedysari and Fructus Ligustri Lucidi with the actions of supplementing qi, warmingYang, strengthening spleen, tonifying kidney, promoting blood circulation and removing turbid pathogenicfactor. To explore the effect of Niaodukang on the lipid metabolism of chronic renal faiure, rat model wasset up with improved technique of 5/6 kidney mass removal. After the accomplishment of the rat model for2 weeks, the models matched with the geneal conditions and 24 hours' proteinuria were randomly allocated to five groups: the model group, two Niaodukang groups with high and low dosages respectively, CoatedAldehyde Oxystarch group and the nounal control group. Serum contents of triglyceride, cholesterol andapoprotein were tested. The results showed that the blood lipid level in the model group was higher than thenormal group, and decreased markedly after the treatment of Niaodukang. It is indicated that Niaodukang exerts a good effect on the blood-lipid metabolism in rat model with chronic renal failure.
