Cultivating new era medical ethics and style with the fine traditional Chinese culture (TCC) is foundation of the construction of medical ethics and style in the new era, which can fundamentally rectify the alienation of medical ethics and style in modern medicine. It can cultivate the new era medical staff’s benevolence of "putting the people and the people’s lives as the first place", the dedication spirit of "value justice over profit", the humanistic feelings of "putting oneself in other’s shoes", the medical innovation of "facing people’s health", the world responsibility of building a community of human health. Cultivating medical ethics and style in the new era with fine TCC means achieving creative transformation and innovative development of fine TCC, fundamentally nourishing and nurturing medical ethics and style in the whole process. It is important to firm cultural confidence, continue to make great efforts to inherit and promote the fine TCC, especially the traditional Chinese medicine culture; strengthen cultural education, build an "antique" education system of medical ethics and style, and focus on integration and innovation to improve the effectiveness of medical ethics and medical style cultivation in the new era.

ABSTRACT

The concept of golden mean (Zhong Yong), i.e. moderation, is the highest principle of moral cultivation in Confucianism. It entails an exclusive methodology in addressing politics, philosophy and everything in the universe. This concept has permeated into all aspects of traditional Chinese culture. As an ancient therapy, tuina is an important part of Chinese medicine and has its characteristic theory and methods. Just like Chinese medicine, tuina has long been greatly influenced by the concept of golden mean. To better promote the development of tuina, it’s necessary to investigate the historical evolution of tuina and the concept of golden mean as well as the influence of ‘golden mean’ idea on tuina manipulation, mechanism and treatment.

ABSTRACT

Currently, there are increasing debates on the necessity of health instruments in Chinese medicine (CM) emerging in China. This study aims to reevaluate its status and values. Analyzing the causes, limits, advantages, and properties characters of health instruments in CM, it is found that weak fundamental research, incomplete self-awareness, and complicated social factors are the primary causes of debates. A comprehensive analysis showed health instruments in CM have health evaluation benefits to people from a dominant Chinese culture, meet the requirements of cultural background, and bring long-term value to Chinese instrument researches. However, its values and status should be treated differently depending on various subtypes. Although little theoretical and practical evidences proved that patients-reported health instruments in CM should be proposed independently, the doctors- and nurses-reported questionnaires are necessary. With this in mind, the study group proposes the 'Chinese cultural instruments (CCIs)' and 'health-related CCIs'. The latter one aims to evaluate the health status of people in a dominant Chinese culture. The CCIs theory represents Chinese instrument researches on a larger regional and higher level, and resolves the debates on instruments between CM and Western medicine in China. Health instruments in CM bring more scientific and social benefits for Chinese instrument researches. However, it does not include cultural demands, and lacks scientific significance. CCIs have all its virtues, and add solutions to the latter's theory bottleneck and scientific debates, thus bringing increased benefits to clinical assessment in complementary and alternative medicine researches.

ABSTRACT

In order to check the spread of Chinese martial arts in Brazil, teachers pioneers who immigrated from China bringing in the Kung Fu were interviewed By making this choice in our dissertation, we contact an instrumental which is the use of interviews in the perspective of Oral History. Rummaging memory, accepting the silences, respecting knowledge built and deconstructing others may be considered as a very arduous task. Listen to these masters took us, even superficially, to try to understand some aspects of Chinese culture which the masters and Kung Fu itself is based on. Understand the gaps, difficulties and possibilities of the use of oral history as a methodological tool is what we seek in this article, in order to contribute to similar analyzes, either of martial practices or even to other perspectives on Chinese culture. Therefore, we aimed to point out and discuss the methodology of oral history and its relevance to the study of martial practices from the use of interviews. The results of the present discussion suggest that the Oral History is a useful instrument for the discussion of martial practices, notably considering the pertinence and specificity for the proper use of this research methodology.
