ABSTRACT

Abstract Objectives: The aim of this study is to develop and validate a novel clinical report form in the format of a structured interview to enable the characterization of the Portuguese population of the Baixo Vouga region with different subtypes of nodular thyroid pathologies (NTyPs). Materials and methods: A structured interview was developed and to the best of our knowledge, this is the first structured interview built and validated for that purpose in Portugal. Results: This structured interview enables the identification of possible correlations between each subtype of nodular lesions and sociodemographic data, consumption habits and lifestyle, endocrine history, and family predisposition. Conclusion: The novel structured interview will simultaneously, enable a detailed characterization of the group of patients with nodular thyroid lesions and will support future metabolomic studies.

ABSTRACT

Abstract: This paper aims to discuss the production of records in psychoanalytic research. The research carried out an accompanying process of babies and educators in kindergarten schools, and the recording method in question was developed in three stages. The time of experience refers to the encounter with the field, encompassing exteriority, alterity, but also reflexivity, transformation. The second time was the writing of the clinical diary, which includes both the subjective aspect and the attempt to describe scenes and events. The third time, the composition of the clinical narrative report, involves theorizing. It's when we seek to produce some closings and to uncover new questions.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To collect the clinical materials of primary liver cancer patients treated by gamma knife and analyze the treatment methods as well as short-term efficacy, and to provide a reference for the clinical treatment of primary liver cancer patients. Methods:A total of 633 patients with inoperable primary liver cancer were treated by body gamma knife.According to the TNM staging method of Union for International Cancer Control(UICC), there were 351 cases with clear TNM staging.Among them, there were 251 cases (71.5%) at T3 stage and 57 cases(16.2%) at T4 stage. The prescription dose of 200-600 cGy each time to the 40%-85% dose line covering the planned target volume(PTV), this program was performed 5 times per week, and the number of treatment ranged from 2 to 13.The biochemical and imaging changes were observed 2-3 months after treatment to evaluate the short-term efficacy. Results:During the treatment, 229(36.2%)patients had adverse reactions,100 (15.8%) patients appeared the reduced white blood cells, and 137 (21.6%) patients appeared the reduced platelets. On discharge from the hospital, 601 patients were improved, 22 patients had no obvious change, 5 cases were worse, and 5 cases died. The proportion of improved patients who received the cumulative dose between 3 000 cGy to 4 000 cGy was higher than those who received the cumulative dose less than 3 000 cGy(P0.05).Conclusion:The proportion of adverse reactions in the primary liver cancer patients treated with body gamma knife is relatively low and the short-term efficacy is ideal.Body gamma knife treatment is a safe and effective treatment method for the primary liver cancer patients.

ABSTRACT

This article describes the treatment provided to a patient with the maxillary anterior teeth exhibiting severe secondary caries beneath the previous restoration and a white spot lesion on the adjacent incisor. Two implants were placed after extraction of hopeless teeth with the guided bone regeneration technique. A white spot lesion of the adjacent incisor was treated with minimally invasive treatment. This clinical report describes the multidisciplinary treatment for the white spot lesion and esthetic restoration of missing anterior teeth.

ABSTRACT

This article presents a narrative analysis proposal of the interventions made by psychology interns in their psychotherapeutic practice. The data sources were the transcripts of psychotherapy sessions conducted by interns with their patients, associated with the issues discussed in academic supervision. The analysis of the transcripts, seen in this study as a narrative of the practice, occurred in two levels: of the account and of the narrative plot. The results show the different movements carried out by the interns in their attempts to intervene according to the basic ideas of an analytically-oriented psychotherapy. These interventions seem to be, at times, contradictory, thus showing the errors and vicissitudes that are part of the clinical thinking learning process.

ABSTRACT

Child abuse is an issue which has persisted through history. This problem includes not only physical, but psychological damage. Clinical report, most of the times, is the principal axis in the correct diagnosis and the posterior treatment. In this study, 192 cases of child abuse were analyzed between January 2005 and May 2006, and the results presented most of the cases include child molesting, occasional medical attention after the assault, the victims receive medical attention long time after the assault, and most of the cases occur during December, which can be associated with irresponsible behavior (alcohol, parties, etc.). It is very important that the physician is very clear about the signs of sexual abuse and its physical and psychological consequences, since it is the most common type of aggression and in many cases can be unnoticed.
