ABSTRACT

The goal of this study is to rethink the antinomies of the social imaginary's significations of the contemporary, regarding the new expressions of suffering and subjective investments in the work environment. In this context, we assume that our society undergoes a transition process in which there is a proliferation of heteronomous imaginary's significations that is stimulating specific values, affections and ideals. Additionally, beyond philosopher Cornelius Castoriadis' contributions, from Clinical Sociology and prioritizing the labor scenario, we studied relevant signs that play a leading role in hypermodernity such as growing disbelief, pessimism, individualism and investment in the private sphere, to the detriment of the public one. Finally, we discussed a new pole of social legitimization, which expresses a particular symbolic code and is supported by the promise of specific projects: vertiginous ascent, recognition, visibility and social prominence.

ABSTRACT

The problem addressed in this research is violence against Older Adults. Founded social violence based on prejudice and negative stereotypes. It works with the population of retired women of zonal community centers in Montevideo. We investigated whether the violence prevailing in the hypermodern society leaves out this age group. How, the pillars on which society is founded (the importance of image, aesthetics, hyperactivity, hyper-fast times, etc.) impact on their daily lives (Social, family and psychological). The research is aimed at critically reflect situations of social violence that older adults perceive, from the epistemological conception of Clinical Sociology. The life stories of each of the participants, in which the memory used to tell their experiences, will be one way of constructing identity, strengthening its identity process, collective identity and belonging to the age group.

ABSTRACT

Does the norm create a "bad" or a "good" child in the context of a constantly changing family and society? Does it, perhaps, create children as they should be as regards their relation with the previous generation? Educational practices within the families take place where societal injunctions either conscious or unconscious and compromise solutions between conflict and serenity meet. These practices lead to constant movements that sometimes make parents and children feel confused in a "sort of game" of interferences between equality and hierarchy, tightly tied to an institutional networking

ABSTRACT

The aim of this theoretical study is to advance a clinical perspective on the phenomenon of burnout, based on existentialism and clinical sociology. Although the phenomenon of burnout is nowadays widely researched in the field of work and organizational psychology, when it comes to understanding its development process, one is presented with a zone still largely unknown. What is sought, thus, is the formulation of new conceptual frameworks in order to grasp the subject in its individual historicity in dialectical relation with social and organizational dynamics, and as a new way of approaching the phenomenon of burnout. Certain notions of French clinical sociology and Sartrean existentialism will be used for this purpose, as this allows one to theorize on the psychic process of burnout in its involvement with organizational and sociohistorical levels. Finally, this article finishes with the proposition of four hypotheses that maintain that the burnout development process can reveal a failure at the project level as a result of new ways of work management and organization in the current mode of flexible production.
