Eficacia de un curso sobre Buenas Prácticas Clínicas para investigadores vinculados a los ensayos clínicos / Efficacy of a course on Good Clinical Practices for researchers linked to clinical trials

Fundamento: la adecuada capacitación en Buenas Prácticas Clínicas garantiza que los ensayos sean conducidos con la debida protección de los sujetos y la veracidad de los datos obtenidos. Objetivo: mostrar la eficacia de la aplicación de un curso sobre Buenas Prácticas Clínicas dirigido a investigadores vinculados a los ensayos clínicos. Métodos: se realizó una investigación acción participativa por el Grupo Provincial de Ensayos Clínicos de Villa Clara, durante 2016. Se emplearon métodos del nivel teórico: análisis-síntesis e inducción-deducción; empíricos: revisión documental y la encuesta en forma de cuestionario a los cursistas, y los matemáticos para los valores absolutos y relativos. Resultados: a través del diagnóstico se obtuvo que la mayoría de los profesionales tenían altas necesidades de conocimiento sobre Buenas Prácticas Clínicas. Entre los aspectos con mayores dificultades estuvieron el manejo de eventos adversos y las responsabilidades de los investigadores en sus diferentes roles dentro del ensayo. Se aplicó un curso en el que se abordaron contenidos fundamentales sobre la temática. Una vez concluido, se realizó examen final y se mostró que la mayoría alcanzaron altos niveles de conocimientos. Conclusiones: el curso aplicado sirvió como capacitación sobre la temática para los investigadores de ensayos clínicos, por lo que se considera su eficacia para resolver las carencias detectadas.

Background: the adequate training in Good Clinical Practices guarantees that the tests are conducted with the due protection of the subjects and the veracity of the obtained data. Objective: to show the effectiveness of the implementation of a course on Good Clinical Practices for researchers linked to clinical trials. Methods: a participatory action research was carried out by the Provincial Clinical Trials Group of Villa Clara, during 2016. Methods of the theoretical level were used: analysis-synthesis and induction-deduction; empirical: documentary review and survey in the form of a questionnaire to the trainees, and mathematical ones for the absolute and relative values. Results: through the diagnosis it was obtained that most of the professionals had high needs of knowledge on Good Clinical Practices. Among the aspects with greater difficulties were the handling of adverse events and the responsibilities of the researchers in their different roles within the trial. A course was applied in which fundamental contents on the subject were addressed. Once completed, a final exam was carried out and it was shown that most reached high levels of knowledge. Conclusions: the implemented course served as training on the topic for clinical trial researchers, so its effectiveness is considered to solve the deficiencies detected.

Necesidad de capacitación sobre ensayos clínicos en los profesionales de la Atención Primaria de Salud / Need for training on clinical trials in Primary Health Care professionals

Fundamento: se precisa que cada investigador que participa en ensayos clínicos esté cualificado para realizar su labor. Objetivo: diagnosticar las necesidades de capacitación sobre ensayos clínicos en profesionales de la Atención Primaria de Salud. Métodos: se realizó una investigación descriptiva transversal por el Grupo Provincial de Ensayos Clínicos de Villa Clara, en 2015. Para ello se emplearon métodos del nivel teórico: análisis-síntesis e inducción-deducción; y empíricos: la revisión documental del curriculum vitae de cada investigador y del plan de superación docente de la Cátedra de Ensayos Clínicos de la Universidad de Ciencias Médicas del territorio. Resultados: todos los investigadores poseían la formación académica requerida pero solo algunos profesionales contaban con experiencia previa en ensayos clínicos; no todos recibieron formación posgraduada en Reanimación Cardiopulmonar y Cerebral, ni en Buenas Prácticas Clínicas. Con respecto a la formación básica en ensayos clínicos según su rol, los que recibieron más capacitación fueron los médicos, y en menor cuantía, los farmacéuticos y enfermeros. Las ofertas de posgrados son pertinentes con las demandas formativas de los profesionales, con excepción del rol específico del psicólogo en la investigación clínica. Conclusiones: los profesionales demandan formación posgraduada inmediata según su rol y cuentan con ofertas de cursos para satisfacer sus necesidades.

Background: qualification to perform their work is required for researchers participating in clinical trials. Objective: to diagnose the needs of training on clinical trials in Primary Health Care professionals. Methods: a descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out by Villa Clara Province Clinical Trials Group in 2015. For this purpose methods were used at the theoretical level: analysis-synthesis and induction-deduction; and empirical studies: the documentary review of the curriculum vitae of each researcher and the teaching upgrading plan of the clinical trials professorship of the university of medical sciences of the territory. Results: all the researchers had the required academic training but only some professionals had previous experience in clinical trials; not all received postgraduate training in Cardiopulmonary and Cerebral Resuscitation, or in Good Clinical Practices. With regard to basic training in clinical trials according to their role, those who received more training were physicians, and to a lesser extent, pharmacists and nurses. Postgraduate offers are relevant to the training demands of professionals, with the exception of the specific role of the psychologist in clinical research. Conclusions: professionals demand immediate postgraduate training according to their role and courses are offered to meet their needs.
