ABSTRACT

Objective:To analyze the overall layout of coronavirus genetics research in the past 20 years from the perspective of publication time, journals, keywords, citations and funds, identify core research institutions and their cooperation networks in this field, and explore current research hotspots. Methods:PubMed and Web of Science databases were searched separately for the research literature and citations data about coronavirus genetics from 2003 to 2021, and Excel was used to analyze the distribution of the literature and institutions, and then the Citespace software was selected for institutional cooperation network and reference co-citation cluster analysis. Results:The literature about coronavirus genetics had increased significantly in 2020. The top 10 journals have collected 23.4% of relevant literature. Chinese Academy of Sciences has published the most documents in this field, in the top 10 high-yielding institutions, 7 are from China. In the cooperation network, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, University of Hong Kong and University of Sao Paulo have high betweenness centrality. The total litation times and average citation times of funded papers were higher than those of non-funded papers. There have been 7 research hotspots in the past 20 years. The research on " the gene sequence and functional receptors of the Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus" , " the gene traceability and drug development of the SARS-Cov-2" as well as " genotyping, origin and economic impact of paroxysmal porcine epidemic diarrhea virus in the United States" are still active in the past five years. Conclusions:Coronavirus genetics research will be at a sustained high level in the next few years or even longer. It is difficult to publish papers in journals with high impact factors (IF>5.00) in related fields. Chinese research institutions are active in this field. The Chinese Academy of Sciences and the University of Hong Kong are the most influential, and they have the closest cooperation with other institutions. The genetic tracing, gene sequence and functional receptor of coronavirus and drug development are likely to be the forefront of the research in this field.our govermment should advance the layout in this field and increase the number of research funds and financial support.

ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT The objective of this article was to carry out a bibliometric study of the RPMESP publications (2010-2019) in order to enable the improvement of the editorial management and decision-making processes of this and other journals with similar behavior. It is a descriptive study with bibliometric methodology that analyzes through productivity, collaboration and network indicators the main trends of the journal. The records were recovered from Scopus, which, after a standardization process, obtained 565 documents. 96% of the documents were published in Spanish and in collaboration (two or more authors), which reflects the greater interest of Latin American authors in publishing in collaboration in recent years. An incipient degree of international openness was observed when documents were received from countries such as the United States, Colombia, and Spain, a trend that needs to be continued in the search for a greater degree of internationality. Peru as a country and the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia as an institution had the greatest measures of centrality and power in network analysis. The strategic position of these nodes can be used by the RPMESP to establish strategies and strengthen collaborative relationships with all members of these networks. This step could improve the important role that the RPMESP plays in the scientific dissemination of medical studies in response to the great demands of today.

ABSTRACT

ObjectiveTo provide decision-making information support for recognizing research trends, selecting frontier science and technology, shaping reasonable science and technology distribution, a visualization analysis was applied to the international liver stem cell research. Methods Based on bibliometric method and visualization analysis tools, various fields including publication years, countries of publications, journals and organizations were analyzed exhaustively on publications of international liver stem cells which were searched in Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE).In addition, details on main subjects, evolution and research fronts were presented in this paper. Results 1092 publications were searched in SCIE,which were growing rapidly since 2000.The production of China is far behind United States of America and Japan. Publications were distributed in concentrated journals but involved multidisciplinary. Liver stem cells research evolution basically experienced identification, sources, basic application. Research fronts include cell identifications, liver regeneration, cell differentiation, expression of exogenous genes, etc. Conclusion China should increase the liver stem cell funding, strengthen cooperation with the top institutes, independent innovation, leading liver stem cells research from basic research to clinical research.
