ABSTRACT

@#A lot of researches indicate the relationship between cognitive impairment and functional connectivity of default mode network, salience network and central executive network. The changes of networks are various in different cognitive dys-function.It is important to apply resting state functional magnetic resonance in the old adults with cognitive dysfunction.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the effect of butylphthalide combined with nimodipine in the treatment of vascular cognitive impairment. Methods 160 patients with vascular cognitive impairment were divided into the control group and the observation group according to treatment methods,80 cases in each group. The control group was treated with nimodipine, and the observation group was given butylphthalide combined with nimodipine treatment. The therapeutic effect and cognitive function were compared. Results The obvious effective rate of the observation group was 58.75 % (47/80),which was significantly higher than that of control group 45 % (36/80) (P =0.03).After treatment,MoCA score of the observation group was (24.83 ± 9.48),which was significantly higher than that of the control group(21.64 ±9.52) (P =0.04).ADL score of the observation group was(58.31 ± 11.27),which was significantly higher than(53.28 ± 10.32) of the control group (P =0.04).After treatment, directional force, visual spatial and executive function, delayed memory and attention of the observation group were higher than those of the control group (P =0.03,0.02,0.04,0.02).Conclusion Butylphthalide combined with nimodipine in the treatment of patients with vascular cognitive impairment has good effect.

ABSTRACT

Objective To compare the assessment results of Loewenstein occupational therapy cognitive assessment (LOTCA) and mini-mental state examination(MMSE) in stroke patients, and to analyze the correlation between the two assessments and to explore the applicable values of LOTCA in assessing vascular cognitive function impairment (VCI).Methods According to the diagnostic standard of cognitive impairment with MMSE,thirty stroke patients with cognitive impairment were selected as cognitive impairment group, thirty stroke patients without markedly cognitive impairment as stroke control group, and thirty normal subjects served as normal control group. All the subjects' age, gender and level of education were matched in the three groups. All the subjects were assessed with LOTCA and MMSE.ResultsThe total scores of LOTCA had high positive correlation with the total scores of MMSE in cognitive impairment group ( r =0.934,P < 0.01 ),the correlations were also found between every sub-items of LOTCA and those of MMSE (P < 0.01 ).The total scores and the scores of sub-items of LOTCA in cognitive impairment group were significantly lower than those in stroke control group and were those in normal control group(P < 0.01 ),particularly lower scores in LOTCA sub-items of thinking operations, orientation, visuomotor organization. The scores of sub-items of LOTCA,including thinking operations,visuo-motor organization, attention, orientation, spatial perception were all significantly lower in stroke control group than those in normal control group(P <0.01 ),especially in thinking operations and visuo-motor organization sub-items.Conclusions Correlations were found between LOTCA and MMSE.Compared to MMSE,LOTCA could detect vascular cognitive function impairment earlier and is much more comprehensive,so it is suitable to assess vascular cognitive impairment patients with no dementia.

ABSTRACT

@#There are three major ways of for the treatments of post-stroke cognitive impairment.Medicine, acupuncture and the cognitive training is the most popular. Both clinical reports and experimental studies proved positive effect of acupuncture to post-stroke cognitive function impairment. There are more clinical reports and comprehensive mechanism studies on the Brain-activating and Orifice-opening Acupuncture than the other two popular treatments of acupuncture for cognitive function impairment.Acupuncture show positive effect on post-stroke cognitive function impairment.Further studies are required to validate whether acupuncture has better curative effect than cognitive training.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the degree of cognitive impairment and its clinical significance of Binswanger's disease(BD),leukoaraiosis(LA) and LA with cerebral infarction(LA+CI).Methods Mini-mental state examination(MMSE) and clinical memory scale (CMS) were used to evaluate the cognitive impairment in 33 patients with BD, 27 patients with LA, 31 patients with LA+CI and 30 healthy controls. Results (1)The scores of MMSE and CMS in BD group, LA group, LA+CI group were significantly lower than those in healthy control group( P
