ABSTRACT

Objective To observe the clinical effect of Shexiang Baoxin pill,a traditional Chinese medicine, combined with nicorandil on microvascular angina pectoris. Methods Seventy patients with microangiopathic angina diagnosed by coronary angiography admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Baotou Medical College from January 2014 to August 2016 were enrolled, and they were divided into a control group and an observation group according to conplete random number table method,35 patients in each group. Both groups were given routine treatment,in the observation group, additionally, nicorandil 5 mg 3 times a day and 2 Shexiang Baoxin pills (22.5 mg per tablet),3 times a day were orally applied, the therapeutic course in both groups being 6 weeks. Before and after treatment, the changes of number of episodes of angina pectoris per week,of the total number of ST-segment depression leads and the minimum voltage amplitude of ST-segment depression in the 12-lead resting electrocardiogram and adverse reaction were observed in the two groups. Results The frequency of angina pectoris after treatment was less than that before treatment, the total number of ST segment depression leads was lower and the minimum voltage amplitude of ST segment depression was decreased compared with those before treatment in the two groups, the degree of change in the observation group being more significant than those in the control goup [angina attack frequency (times):5.2 ± 0.5 vs.9.4 ± 1.6,ST segment depression lead total number:2.3-± 0.2 vs.4.6 ± 2.1,ST segment depression lowest voltage amplitude (my):0.10 ± 0.01 vs.0.31 ± 0.01,all P < 0.05].The adverse effects incidence showed no statistical significant differences between control group and observation group [14.3% (5/35) vs.22.8% (8/35),P > 0.05] Conclusions On the basis of conventional medication,Shexiang Baoxin pills combined with nicorandil has obvious therapeutic effect for treatment of microangiopathic angina pectoris.

ABSTRACT

Cancer-related fatigue (CRF) is a common and one of the most severe symptom in the period of onset, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation process of cancer. But there are no confirmed measures to relieve this problem at present. Traditional Chinese medical comprehensive therapy has its advantages in dealing with this condition. Based on the research status of CRF, the following problems have been analyzed and solved: the term of CRF has been defined and recommended, and the definition has been made clear; the disease mechanism is proposed, i.e. healthy qi has been impaired in the long-term disease duration, in the process of surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and biology disturbing; it is clear that the clinical manifestations are related to six Chinese medicine patterns: decreased functioning of the Pi (Spleen) and Wei (Stomach), deficiency of the Pi with dampness retention, deficiency of the Xin (Heart) and Pi, disharmony between the Gan (Liver) and Pi, deficiency of the Pi and Shen (Kidney), and deficiency of the Fei (Lung) and Shen. Based on its severity, the mild patients are advised to have non-drug psychological intervention and sleep treatment in cooperation with appropriate exercise; diet therapy are recommended to moderate patients together with sleep treatment and acupuncture, severe patients are recommended to have herbal treatment based on pattern differentiation together with physiological sleep therapy.

ABSTRACT

Objective To systemically evaluate the clinical therapeutic effect of combined traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and western medicine for treatment of acute heart failure by Meta analysis. Methods The America National Library PubMed and China Biomedical Literature Data System (SinoMed), China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), VIP Data Resource, Wanfang Data Resource, Chinese TCM Database Retrieval System were searched from 1990 to May 2014 to identify the formally published randomized controlled trials (RCTs) in which the effects of combined TCM and western medicine (experiment group) or simple western medicine (control group) for treatment of patients with acute heart failure were reported. The Cochrane system 4.2.2 quality evaluation standard in Evaluation Handbook was applied to assess the methodological quality of literature. The Cochrane Collaboration's RevMan 5.2 software was used to seek the literatures consistent to the criteria of enrolling into the study for Meta analysis. Results There were 18 RCTs, and all together 1 374 cases were included in the data. The grade of methodological quality of the enrolled studies was of high migration. Meta analysis showed: compared with the control group, the clinical efficacy in experimental group was significantly higher [odds ratio (OR) = 5.04, 95% confidence interval (95%CI): 3.31 - 7.69, P < 0.000 01]; the level of type B natriuretic peptide (BNP) was significantly reduced [standardized mean difference (SMD) = -1.31, 95%CI: -1.78 to -0.83, P<0.000 01];left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) was significantly increased (SMD=0.79, 95%CI:0.52-1.07, P < 0.000 01); the therapeutic effect on TCM syndrome was significantly elevated [categorical variables: relative risk (RR) = 1.30, 95%CI: 1.06 - 1.59, P = 0.01; quantitative variables: mean difference (MD) = -1.67, 95%CI: -2.48 to-0.86, P<0.000 1] and cardiac diastolic function was significantly improved (SMD=0.64, 95%CI:0.05-1.24, P<0.05). Conclusions The clinical therapeutic effects of combined TCM and western medicine are significantly higher than those of simple western medicine for treatment of patients with acute heart failure. However, the low quality of the reports involved in this study limits the reliability of this conclusion.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the principles of combined traditional Chinese and western medicine treatment of early postoperation inflammatory small bowel obstruction(EPISBO).Methods 93 cases of EPISBO were randomly divided into two groups including group A,47 cases received combined traditional Chinese and west- ern medicine treatment, and group B 46 received only western medicine treatment. Results 93 patients were all cured through nonsurgical treatment. The combined traditional Chinese and western medicine treatment was better in symtom improvement and reduce of expense. Conclusion The principle treatment of EPISBO is mainly nonsurgical. The traditional Chinese medicine and somatostatin are very important.
