ABSTRACT

La presente investigación consiste en evaluar y comparar estadísticamente el número de casos de violencia intrafamiliar en Colombia entre los años 2010-2021, con base en los reportes de la Policía Nacional. La base de datos está compuesta por 896.017 casos de violencia denunciados. Se empleó distribución de frecuencias, análisis comparativo por el método GLM y proyección Biplot. Cundinamarca diverge estadísticamente respecto a las demás regiones evaluadas, donde las mujeres presentan el mayor porcentaje de violencia intrafamiliar. Factores como las restricciones de movilidad, la incertidumbre, el estrés entre otros componentes, son la raíz de situaciones complejas familiares.


The present research consists of evaluating and statistically comparing the number of cases of intrafamily violence in Colombia between the years 2010-2021, based on the reports of the National Police. The database is made up of 896,017 reported cases of violence. Frequency distribution, comparative analysis by the GLM method and Biplot projection were used. Cundinamarca differs statically with respect to the other regions evaluated, where women present the highest percentage of domestic violence. Factors, such as mobility restrictions, uncertainty, stress, among other components, are at the root of complex family situations.

ABSTRACT

R E S U M E N El artículo tiene como objetivo mostrar un análisis conciso de la importancia, dimensiones y relaciones de la innovación en el control gubernamental y la gestión de las denuncias ciudadanas, presente en revistas científicas y publicaciones de entidades como OLACEFS y diversas Contralorías, desde el 2018 al 2022. Para ello, se desarrolló una investigación no experimental, descriptiva y transversal; basada en una revisión bibliográfica en Redalyc, Scielo y Scopus, sobre artículos científicos relacionados a las variables mencionadas, obteniendo 53 publicaciones. Dentro de los principales resultados se encuentra la relación de herramientas de innovación con las variables de control gubernamental y denuncias ciudadanas, obteniendo 22 temáticas, siendo transversal el uso de TIC. Finalmente, se concluyó que la innovación es una variable relacionada con el control gubernamental y la gestión pública, contemplando la gestión de denuncias ciudadanas. Si bien es cierto que, no hay investigaciones puntuales que relacionen estas variables, hay muchas publicaciones que usan términos como TIC, innovación o gobierno abierto para mantener una correlación; contemplando a la participación ciudadana como parte del control social que ayuda al control gubernamental.


A B S T R A C T The article aims to show a concise analysis of innovation's importance, dimensions, and relationships in government control and the management of citizen complaints, present in scientific journals and publications of entities such as OLACEFS and various Comptrollerships, from 2018 to 2022. For this, a non-experimental, descriptive, and cross-sectional investigation was developed; based on a bibliographic review in Redalyc, Scielo, and Scopus, of scientific articles related to the mentioned variables, obtaining 53 publications. Among the main results is the relationship of innovation tools with the variables of government control and citizen complaints, getting 22 themes, the use of ICT being transversal. Finally it was concluded that innovation is a variable related to government control and public management, contemplating the direction of citizen complaints. Although it is true that there is no specific research that relates these variables, there are many publications that use terms such as ICT, innovation, or open government to maintain a correlation; contemplating citizen participation as part of the social control that helps government control.

ABSTRACT

Abstract Background and objectives: Anesthesiologists and hospitals are increasingly confronted with costs associated with the complications of Peripheral Nerve Blocks (PNB) procedures. The objective of our study was to identify the incidence of the main adverse events associated with regional anesthesia, particularly during anesthetic PNB, and to evaluate the associated healthcare and social costs. Methods: According to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines, we conducted a systematic search on EMBASE and PubMed with the following search strategy: (‟regional anesthesia" OR ‟nerve block") AND (‟complications" OR ‟nerve lesion" OR ‟nerve damage" OR ‟nerve injury"). Studies on patients undergoing a regional anesthesia procedure other than spinal or epidural were included. Targeted data of the selected studies were extracted and further analyzed. Results: Literature search revealed 487 articles, 21 of which met the criteria to be included in our analysis. Ten of them were included in the qualitative and 11 articles in the quantitative synthesis. The analysis of costs included data from four studies and 2,034 claims over 51,242 cases. The median claim consisted in 39,524 dollars in the United States and 22,750 pounds in the United Kingdom. The analysis of incidence included data from seven studies involving 424,169 patients with an overall estimated incidence of 137/10,000. Conclusion: Despite limitations, we proposed a simple model of cost calculation. We found that, despite the relatively low incidence of adverse events following PNB, their associated costs were relevant and should be carefully considered by healthcare managers and decision makers.

ABSTRACT

Purpose: To present the eye care seeking behavior among rural adults in South India. Methods: This cross?sectional study was conducted between 2019 and 2020 covering three blocks of the Thiruvannamalai district, Tamil Nadu, India. Door?to?door survey was performed to collect demographic information, status of literacy, occupation, and details of previous eye examination. Distance visual acuity was tested for individuals available in the house using a log MAR (logarithm of minimum angle of resonance) chart. Association between demographic details, details of previous eye examination, and status of vision was analyzed using logistic regression. Results: A data of 12,913 individuals were included for the analysis, of which 6460 (50.03%) were females. Of the total individuals, 2007 (15.54%) had undergone an eye examination previously. There were 1639 (28.50%) people who had a vision less than 0.2 log MAR in at least one eye. The odds of reported ‘previous eye examination’ were more among females [odds ratio (OR) 1.48, 95% confidence interval (CI): 1.32–1.66, P < 0.001]; individuals aged above 60 years [OR: 11.46, 95% CI: 9.44–13.91, P < 0.001], between 40 and 60 years [OR: 10.43, 95% CI: 8.85–12.30, P < 0.001], and between 18 and 40 years [OR: 2.48, 95% CI: 2.16–2.84, P < 0.001]; illiterates (OR: 1.76, 95% CI: 1.45–2.15, P < 0.001); and farmers (OR: 1.32 95% CI: 1.12–1.55, P = 0.001). Conclusion: The study presents the utilization of eye care among rural South Indian adults. Almost 84.46% of individuals had not undergone any eye examination. Robust measures to promote eye care management would help in effective utilization of eye care services among rural adults.

ABSTRACT

Age at menopause influences the severity of post-menopausal symptoms to determine the symptoms and clinicodemographic links in post menopauseal women in a representative population from eastern Uttar Pradesh. All postmenopausal women presenting with symptoms in the Gynaecological Emergency Department for a period of one year were enrolled. Age and clinicodemographic details, symptoms severity, and reasons for delay in seeking treatment were noted. The data was analysed using Chi-square test. Overall 990/17,927 (5.52%) women visiting the gynaecological OPD presented with post-menopausal complaints. Among menopausal women, the mean age ranged from 40 to 60 years old with a mean age of 46.6012.48 years. Majority were para 3-4 (52.5%), age at menarche were >13 years (58.3%), uneducated (58.8 %) , lower/upper lower SES (57.5%), married (77.3%) and had BMI<18.5kg/m2 (62.1%). Tobacco/smoking addiction was reported in 55 (5.6%) women. A total of 145 (14.6%) were working women. Severity of symptoms was mild, moderate and severe in 57.2%, 28.3% and 14.5% cases. Majority had onset of symptoms for 4- 5 years (56.4%) after menopause. Joint pains and Backache/body ache were the most common presenting complaints (81.8%). A significant association of age at presentation was seen with parity, age at menarche, BMI category and occupational status. Severity of symptoms showed a significant association with age at presentation, parity, age at menarche, BMI category, occupational status and tobacco/smoking use. Most common reasons for delayed treatment were financial problems (22.2%), family problems (18.2%) and commonness of problem (12.6%). Only 2.1% women were aware about HRT. Among the relatively less informed members of our study population, low socioeconomic status, underweight, and menopause age were all influenced by clinicodemographic factors.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To analyze the complaint data of medical institutions in a district of Beijing in 2021, discuss the patients′ demands for medical services under the background of epidemic normalizaed prevention and control, for reference to improve the service quality and quality management level of medical institutions.Methods:The data was from all patient complaints received by the Beijing Hospital Management Center in 2021 from medical institutions in a district of Beijing, and the information of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Beijing in 2021 from Wind database. The time of complaint, the complained organization, the object of complaint, the content and reason, and the time distribution of epidemic related complaints and COVID-19 cases were analyzed. All data were analyzed by descriptive analysis.Results:A total of 2 408 valid complaints were included. The tertiary hospitals(1 175, 48.8%) and secondary hospitals(724, 30.1%) received more complaints; The complaints against to hospital managers were the most(1 470, 61.0%), followed by complaints against doctors(590, 24.5%); The number of complaints related to hospital management were the largest(776, 32.2%), followed by complaints related to diagnosis and treatment effects(623, 25.9%) and epidemic situation(431, 17.9%). The time distribution of epidemic related complaints was similar to the change trend of the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Beijing during the same period.Conclusions:Under the background of epidemic normalizaed prevention and control, the problems of hospital management in medical complaints were the most prominent, and epidemic related complaints accounted for a large proportion. Medical institutions should closely combine patients′ demands, optimize diagnosis and treatment procedures, unblock doctor-patient communication channels, promote hierarchical diagnosis and treatment, optimize resource allocation, and explore high-quality hospital operation and management mode.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To study the key factors that affect patients′ perception among the five dimensional factors of patients′ perceived service quality, and explore how to effectively rebuild patients′ confidence in the process of handling services with quality defects.Methods:A total of 388 12345 work orders from a Beijing stomatological hospital in 2021 were collected. The problems and solutions of patients′feedback were classified and standardized into tangibility, reliability, responsiveness, assurance and empathy. Chi-square test and logistic regression were used to analyze the relationship between relevant factors and problem solving rate, patient satisfaction.Results:There were 513 feedback questions in 388 return visit work orders, with 1.32 items for each. There were 83, 112, 126, 111 and 81 questions in the five dimensions of tangibility, reliability, responsiveness, assurance and empathy; 273 work orders had single-dimension problems, accounting for 70.4%, 105 work orders had two dimensional problems, and 10 work orders had three dimensional problems. Among them, the assurance dimension problem accounts for 47% and 100% of the work orders of two-dimension and three-dimension problems respectively; The proportion of unsolved responsiveness dimension problems was the highest, accounting for 31.7%, and there was a negative correlation between responsiveness dimension problems and patient satisfaction rate( r=-0.709). Conclusions:In the process of medical service, the basic quality and skills of medical staff are the basis of building patient trust. In the process of handling medical services with quality defects, it is most important that quickly respond to patients′ queries, which could help to rebuild patients′ confidence in the quality of services.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To analyze ethical management of subjects′ complaints in drug clinical trials in a cancer hospital.Methods:A retrospective analysis of the complaints of subjects received and properly handled by the ethics committee through telephone, e-mail and on-site reception during the drug clinical trial in our hospital. Case studies were conducted to analyze the reasons for the occurrence of some particular subjects′ complaints, processing procedures and resolution processes.Results:The number of subjects' complaints in clinical trials in our hospital decreased year by year. The ethics committee of our hospital would check it immediately and review it carefully after receiving the subjects′ complaints, and return the review decisions to the subjects and researchers, at the same time, follow up with board meeting report and documentation. Regarding to the reasons of the subject complaint, mainly identified were the failure to participate in clinical trials due to inclusion and exclusion criteria, withdraw by investigators due to safety concerns, and not satisfied with the compensation.Conclusions:When receiving subjects′ complaints, the ethics committee should manage them seriously, verify the reasons in time and follow up properly, act as a communication bridge between subjects, researchers and sponsors, try their best to resolve subjects′ complaints, and protect the rights and interests of subjects.

@#There is evidence from research that dietary lifestyle influences health and mental well-being but there is limited understanding of the mechanism in Nigerian adult population. This study evaluated association of food intake with obesity and subjective cognitive complaints (SCCs) in Nigerian adults. We carried out a cross-sectional study of 1338 random samples aged 18-87 years who were visiting six different public hospitals in the southwest Nigeria between March 2016 and April 2016. Standard food frequency questionnaire (FFQ) and SCC questionnaire were used while anthropometric data were measured using standard clinical procedures. Associations were determined by linear and unconditional logistic regressions, after adjustment for age, ethnicity, education, gender, marital status, family type, alcohol and smoking status. Consumption of four different foods was significantly associated with SCC while one food intake was significantly associated with obesity measure (i.e., body mass index): meat product (Adjusted Odds Ratio (AOR), 1.002; 95% Confidence Interval (CI), 1.001-1.004; P <.0001), and sugary snacks (AOR, 1.007; 95% CI, 1.002- 1.011; P <.01) were associated with increased SCCs whereas consumption of cereal products (AOR, 0.999; 95% CI, 0.998-1.000; P <.01) and potatoes (AOR, 0.998; 95% CI, 0.996-1.000; P <.05) were associated with decreased levels of SCCs. Consumption of non-alcoholic beverages was associated with decreased BMI levels (AOR, 0.998; 95%CI, 0.997-1.00; P <.05). Linear regression analyses on these data largely recapitulated the results. In conclusion, consumption of cereals, potatoes and non-alcoholic beverages appear beneficial to health and the findings could serve as an intervention strategy for tackling SCCs and obesity.

ABSTRACT BACKGROUND: Dermatitis herpetiformis (DH) is considered a skin celiac disease (CD). The individuals can be seen by primary care professionals or by dermatologists that could refer the patient to a gastroenterologist. OBJECTIVE: The study aimed to investigate the clinical profile of patients diagnosed with DH and referred to a gastroenterologist and evaluate the treatment response. METHODS: We retrospectively studied patients with DH referred to the same gastroenterologist at a private office in Curitiba, Brazil, between January 2010 to December 2019. We included adult patients with a confirmed DH diagnosis. Symptoms, clinical signs, laboratory and histological data, as well as treatment response, were collected. RESULTS: Thirty-three patients were studied (60.6% women, mean age at diagnosis 40.8±12.61 years). The median delay for DH diagnosis was four years. Skin involvement was mild in 33.3%, moderate in 18.2%, and severe in 48.5%. The more frequent gastrointestinal complaints were abdominal distension (78.8%), flatulence (75.7%), and gastroesophageal reflux (51.5%). Depression and anxiety were observed in 81.8% and anemia in 51.1%. A higher prevalence of bone disorders was associated with higher age at DH diagnosis (P=0.035). Duodenal biopsy showed changes in all patients. Improvement after treatment only with a gluten-free diet (GFD) plus dapsone was verified in 81.2%. CONCLUSION: Patients with DH referred to a gastroenterologist showed a high frequency of gluten intolerance and systemic complaints. Duodenal histological alterations were found in all the cases. The treatment based on GFD plus dapsone was effective in most patients.


RESUMO CONTEXTO: A dermatite herpetiforme (DH) é considerada como a doença celíaca (DC) da pele. Os pacientes podem ser atendidos por profissionais do atendimento primário ou por dermatologistas que podem encaminhar o paciente a um gastroenterologista. OBJETIVO: Os objetivos do estudo foram investigar o perfil clínico dos pacientes com diagnóstico de DH encaminhados a um gastroenterologista e avaliar a resposta ao tratamento. MÉTODOS: Foram investigados retrospectivamente pacientes com DH encaminhados ao mesmo gastroenterologista em consultório particular em Curitiba, Brasil, entre janeiro de 2010 a dezembro de 2019. Foram incluídos pacientes adultos com diagnóstico confirmado de DH. Dados sobre sintomas e sinais clínicos, dados laboratoriais, histológicos e resposta ao tratamento foram coletados. RESULTADOS: Foram estudados 33 pacientes (60,6% mulheres, média de idade 40,8±12,61 anos). O atraso médio para o diagnóstico de DH foi de 4 anos. O envolvimento cutâneo foi considerado leve em 33,3%, moderado em 18,2% e grave em 48,5%. As queixas gastrointestinais mais frequentes foram distensão abdominal (78,8%), flatulência (75,7%) e refluxo gastroesofágico (51,5%). Depressão e ansiedade foram observadas em 81,8% e anemia em 51,1%. Maior prevalência de alterações ósseas foi associada à maior idade ao diagnóstico de DH (P=0,035). A biópsia duodenal mostrou alterações em todos os pacientes. A melhora após o tratamento apenas com dieta sem glúten e/ou dapsona foi verificada em 81,2%. CONCLUSÃO: Pacientes com DH encaminhados ao gastroenterologista apresentaram alta frequência de queixas gastrointestinais e sistêmicas. Alterações histológicas duodenais foram encontradas em todos os casos. O tratamento à base de dieta sem glúten e/ou dapsona foi eficaz na maioria dos pacientes.

ABSTRACT

Este artigo é resultado de uma pesquisa bibliográfica sobre a produção nacional a respeito do encaminhamento de crianças em processo de escolarização a profissionais de saúde, como expressão do processo de medicalização da educação. Realizou-se levantamento bibliográfico na base de dados Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde-Psicologia Brasil/BVS-Psi com os termos: “medicalização”, “medicalização da educação”, “professores e encaminhamentos”, “queixa escolar”, “medicalização na rede pública”, “queixa escolar e medicalização” e “medicalização da queixa escolar”. Selecionaram-se os textos que apresentavam uma perspectiva crítica a respeito dos processos de medicalização da/na educação. Os resultados desta pesquisa indicam que os encaminhamentos são realizados partindo-se de uma concepção de que as dificuldades apresentadas pelas crianças no processo de escolarização são de caráter individual e, dessa forma, passíveis de resolução no campo da saúde. Entretanto, há uma marcante falta de comunicação entre esses serviços e a escola, o que contribui para o recurso ao uso de drogas psicotrópicas como uma das principais medidas para intervir junto às queixas escolares, em detrimento do recurso a novas práticas institucionais da escola.


This article is the result of a bibliographical research on the Brazilian bibliographical production regarding the referral of children in schooling process to health professionals, as an expression of the medicalization process of education. A bibliographical survey was carried out in the database of the Virtual Library of Health/ Psychology Brazil/BVS-Psi under the terms: “medicalization”, “medicalization of education”, “teachers and referrals”, “School complaint and medicalization” and “medicalization of the school complaint”. The researchers selected the texts that presented a critical perspective regarding the medicalization processes of the education. The results indicate that the production of referrals rely on a conception that the difficulties presented by the children in the schooling process, as the school identifies them, are individual in nature and, therefore, can be resolved in the health field. However, there is a lack of communication between these services and the school, which contributes to the use of psychotropic drugs as one of the main measures to intervene with school complaints, rather than making new school practices in order to enhance the schooling process.


Este artículo es el resultado de una investigación bibliográfica sobre la producción brasileña acerca de la derivación de niños en proceso de escolarización a profesionales de salud, como expresión del proceso de medicalización de la educación. Se realizó una revisión de la literatura en la base de datos Biblioteca Virtual en Salud-Psicología Brasil / BVS-Psi con los términos: “medicalización”, “medicalización de la educación”, “profesores y derivaciones”, “queja escolar”, “medicalización en la red pública”, “Queja escolar y medicalización” y “medicalización de la queja escolar “. Se seleccionaron los textos que presentaban una perspectiva crítica acerca de los procesos de medicalización de la educación. Los resultados de esta investigación indican que las derivaciones se realizan partiendo de una concepción de que las dificultades presentadas por los niños en el proceso de escolarización son de carácter individual y de esa forma susceptibles de resolución en el campo de la salud. Sin embargo, hay una marcada falta de comunicación entre estos servicios y la escuela, lo que contribuye al uso de drogas psicotrópicas como una de las principales medidas para intervenir junto a las quejas escolares, en detrimento del recurso a nuevas prácticas institucionales de la escuela.

INTRODUCTION@#This study aimed to compare early and on-demand maternal feeding after Caesarean delivery in terms of gastrointestinal complaints and patient satisfaction.@*METHODS@#A total of 262 women with uncomplicated singleton term pregnancies who underwent a Caesarean section under regional anaesthesia were randomised to a soft food diet served at Postoperative Hour 2 (early feeding group) or eating whenever they wanted to upon return to the ward (on-demand group). Patient satisfaction scores at the time of discharge and gastrointestinal complaints were compared.@*RESULTS@#The fed-early group comprised 133 (50.8%) women and the on-demand group comprised 129 (49.2%) women. Major characteristics and surgical procedures were comparable between the two groups. No significant between-group differences in demographic criteria or surgical procedures were evident (p > 0.05). The mean time to the first feeding was 120.00 ± 00.00 minutes for the early feeding group as compared to 236.59 ± 107.74 minutes for the on-demand feeding group (p = 0.001). Satisfaction levels did not differ significantly between the two groups (p = 0.366). Duration to first breastfeeding, analgesia on the ward, passage of flatus, defecation, mobilisation and urination after catheter removal did not differ significantly between the two groups (p > 0.05).@*CONCLUSION@#Early initiation of solid food in low-risk women after Caesarean delivery under regional anaesthesia was associated with high satisfaction and did not increase gastrointestinal complaints. We suggest having flexibility in terms of postoperative feeding time. This may shorten hospitalisation time and reduce hospitalisation costs.

【Objective】 To investigate the complaints of blood quality in Changsha, in order to continuously improve blood quality management. 【Methods】 The Handling Forms of Blood Quality Complaints of our center during 2014~2019, and the blood units issued, corresponded to the occurrence period of complaints, were collected from the SHINOW 9.0 system, and the overall blood supply and complaints of blood quality, including various components, were classified and analyzed by SPSS19.0. 【Results】 1 865 466 bags of blood were delivered from 2014 to 2019 in Changsha, coming down 435 complaints with 435 bags of blood involved, and the total ratio of blood quality complaints rated at 0.23‰(435/1 865 466), of which red blood cell complaint accounted for 45.06%(196/435), with a rise from 30.23%(26/86) in 2014 to 49.49%(49/99) in 2019. Meanwhile, the cryoprecipitate complaint increased from 10.47%(9/86) to 20.20%(20/99). The complaints were mainly broken blood bags 29.89%(130/435), positive serological testing results(irregular antibody screening+ or direct anti globulin test+ ) 34.48%(150/435), floccule or precipitates 18.39%(80/435), clot 5.52%(24/435), lipemia 3.45%(15/435), and blood type variant(ABO subgroups and variants of RhD) 2.07%(9/435). The complaints were different in blood components, each with a particular tilt as follows: positive serological testing results in red blood cell [72.45%(142/186)], broken blood bags in plasma [83.74%(103/123)], floccule or precipitates in platelet [54.17%(13/24)] and cryoprecipitate [64.13%(59/92)] . 【Conclusion】 Broken blood bags of plasma, floccule or precipitates of cryoprecipitate, and positive serological testing results of red blood cell were the main complaints of blood quality in Changsha. Blood banks should strengthen quality control, handle quality complains cautiously and strengthen community with hospitals before transfusion to improve blood satisfaction in clinical, and save blood resources.

ABSTRACT

The goals of this study were to ascertain whether a specific leadership behavior (developing subordinates) is related to employees' health complaints and determine some of the underlying mechanisms involved. The hypothesized relationships were investigated in a sample composed of 538 employees working in 170 work-units of a public regional health service. Multilevel structural equation modeling was used to estimate the hypothesized relationships at the individual and work-unit levels. Results obtained at the individual level showed, as expected, that leader developing behavior was negatively related to employees' health complaints through two mediators: organizational commitment and emotional exhaustion. At the work-unit level, leader developing behavior was not related to employees' health complaints. Our findings uncover some of the mechanisms linking leader developing behavior and employees' health complaints at the individual level, show that the observed relationships cannot be generalized across levels, and have implications for the Job Demands-Resources theory.


Os objetivos deste estudo foram verificar se um comportamento específico de liderança (desenvolvimento de subordinados) está relacionado a queixas de saúde dos funcionários e determinar alguns dos mecanismos subjacentes envolvidos. As relações hipotetizadas foram investigadas em uma amostra composta por 538 funcionários que atuam em 170 unidades de trabalho de um serviço público de saúde regional. A modelagem de equações estruturais multinível foi usada para estimar os relacionamentos hipotéticos nos níveis individual e da unidade de trabalho. Os resultados obtidos no nível individual mostraram, como esperado, que o comportamento de desenvolvimento do líder estava negativamente relacionado às queixas de saúde dos funcionários por meio de dois mediadores: comprometimento organizacional e esgotamento emocional. No nível da unidade de trabalho, o comportamento de desenvolvimento do líder não estava relacionado às queixas de saúde dos funcionários. Nossas descobertas revelam alguns dos mecanismos que ligam o comportamento de desenvolvimento do líder e as queixas de saúde dos funcionários no nível individual, mostram que as relações observadas não podem ser generalizadas entre os níveis e têm implicações para a teoria de demandas de trabalho-recursos.


Los objetivos de este estudio fueron determinar si una conducta de liderazgo específica (desarrollo de subordinados) está relacionada con las quejas de salud de los empleados y determinar algunos de los mecanismos subyacentes involucrados. Las relaciones hipotetizadas se investigaron en una muestra compuesta por 538 empleados que trabajaban en 170 unidades de trabajo de un servicio regional público de salud. Se utilizó un modelo de ecuaciones estructurales multinivel para estimar las relaciones hipotetizadas a nivel individual y de unidad de trabajo. Los resultados obtenidos a nivel individual mostraron, como se esperaba, que la conducta de desarrollo del líder estaba relacionada negativamente con las quejas de salud de los empleados a través de dos mediadores: el compromiso organizacional y el agotamiento emocional. A nivel de unidad de trabajo, la conducta de desarrollo del líder no estaba relacionada con las quejas de salud de los empleados. Nuestros hallazgos descubren algunos de los mecanismos que vinculan la conducta de desarrollo del líder y las quejas de salud de los empleados a nivel individual, muestran que las relaciones observadas no se pueden generalizar a través de los niveles, y tienen implicaciones para la teoría de las demandas y los recursos laborales.

ABSTRACT

Este estudo apresenta um panorama das principais queixas declaradas pela clientela masculina ao procurar o serviço de psicologia de um centro de saúde de Belém do Pará, Norte do Brasil, por meio do mapeamento dos atendimentos no período de 2009 a 2013. O método desta pesquisa descritiva consistiu no levantamento de dados produzidos por um psicólogo durante seu atendimento clínico. As principais queixas relacionam-se à (i) ansiedade, (ii) depressão, (iii) violência entre parceiros íntimos, e (iv) outros conflitos interpessoais. Os dados coletados também permitiram constatar que os homens constituíram 41,2% da clientela, concentraram 46,1% dos atendimentos realizados, encontravam-se em sua maior parte na faixa etária entre os 20 e 29 anos e tenderam a buscar o serviço espontaneamente. A discussão dos resultados apontou para a necessidade de levar em conta as especificidades da clientela masculina e promover um debate mais amplo acerca da saúde do homem, conferindo-lhe maior visibilidade.


This study presents an overview of the main complaints reported by the male clientele when looking for a psychology service in a health center in Belém do Pará, Northern Brazil, through the mapping of visits in the period from 2009 to 2013. The method of this descriptive research consisted of collecting data produced by a psychologist during his clinical care. The main complaints are related to (i) anxiety, (ii) depression, (ii) violence between intimate partners, and (iv) other interpersonal conflicts. The data collected also revealed that men represent 41.2% of the clientele, concentrate 46.1% of the consultations performed, were mostly in the age group between 20 and 29 years old and tended to seek the service spontaneously. The discussion of the results pointed to the need to take into account the specificities of the male clientele and foster a debate about the men's health, giving it greater visibility.

ABSTRACT BACKGROUND: Nowadays, there is an ethical and moral necessity to establish rules that govern professional attitudes and conduct. In the medical field, these rules are multifaceted, given the health consequences inherent to medical procedures. Ethics is an even more delicate subject when it comes to plastic surgery, since one of the aims of this particular medical specialty is esthetic improvement of the body. OBJECTIVE: To survey and classify São Paulo State Medical Board investigations of plastic-surgery complaints that were treated as professional-misconduct cases between 2007 and 2016. DESIGN AND SETTING: Cross-sectional study conducted in a medical council. METHODS: A total of 360 cases were reviewed. Among these, 8 (2.23%) were dismissed, 1 (0.27%) became an administrative lawsuit and 351 (97.50%) were treated as professional-misconduct cases. RESULTS: A breakdown of the complaints filed over the nine-year period showed that complaints concerning malpractice were the most common (28.43%), followed by those regarding medical advertising (24.19%) and poor doctor-patient relationships (10.39%). CONCLUSION: Overall, the number of complaints lodged decreased over the last two years reviewed, although complaints regarding malpractice and poor doctor-patient relationships increased by 10% over the same period. In order to further reduce the number of medical board investigations, the medical establishment needs to carefully review the medical training of students and doctors at every stage of their careers.

@#Introduction: Musculoskeletal Disorder (MSD) is an injury that affects the movement of human body systems such as muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves, blood vessels, and others. The prevalence of MSDs in Indonesia is 11.9% based on diagnosis and 24.7% based on symptoms. MSDs prevalence is 31.2% based on employment among farmers, fishermen, and workers. Methods: The design of this study has been included in observational research using a quantitative approach with Cross-Sectional study. Results: MSDs can appear based on gender, age, educational status, and non-medical supporting professions. Older workers tend to be at risk of developing MSDs complaints. Conclusion: To reduce the risk of complaints, work facilities such as ergonomic chairs and tables can be provided along with extension of work intervals. Workers must take advantage of good rest periods. There is no relationship between work tenure and MSDs complaints. If the working period is long, then it can cause boredom and the endurance of muscles as well as bones physically.

Estudantes com Altas Habilidades/Superdotação (AH/SD), público-alvo da Educação Especial (PAEE), podem apresentar queixas escolares, quando suas necessidades superiores não são atendidas. O estudo teve como objetivo descrever os tipos de queixas escolares que esses estudantes expressam, por meio do relato materno. Participaram 13 mães, de 29 a 48 anos. As mães foram entrevistadas individualmente, utilizando-se da Entrevista de Anamnese, do Roteiro de Entrevista Semiestruturada para a Família e do Questionário de Capacidades e Dificuldades SDQ-Por. Os resultados demonstraram que as mães recebem queixas escolares de seus filhos na escola, dentre as quais estão os problemas de comportamento, desmotivação em sala de aula, indisciplina e dificuldades na interação social. Todas as mães avaliaram seus filhos dentro do padrão para o comportamento pro-social e não-padrão para os problemas de relacionamento com os colegas. É importante que a escola seja uma rede de apoio para auxiliar no desenvolvimento desses estudantes PAEE.

Se entrevistaron las madres individualmente, utilizándose de la Entrevista de Anamnese, del programa de Entrevista Semiestructurada para la Familia y del Cuestionario de Capacidades y Dificultades SDQ-Por. Los resultados demostraron que las madres reciben quejas escolares de sus hijos en la escuela, entre las cuales están los problemas de comportamiento, falta de motivación en sala de clase, indisciplina y dificultades en la interacción social. Todas las madres evaluaron sus hijos dentro del patrón para el comportamiento prosocial y no-patrón para los problemas de relacionamiento con los compañeros. Es importante que la escuela sea una red de apoyo para auxiliar en el desarrollo de esos estudiantes PAEE.


Students with High Ability / Giftedness, target audience of Special Education can present school complaints when their higher needs are not met. The study aimed to describe the types of school complaints that these students express, through the mother's report. Thirteen mothers, aged 29 to 48 years, participated. The mothers were interviewed individually, using the Anamnesis Interview, the semi-structured Interview Guide for the Family and the SDQ-Por Abilities and Difficulties Questionnaire. The results showed that mothers receive school complaints from their children at school, which includes behavior problems, demotivation in the classroom, indiscipline and difficulties in social interaction. All mothers rated their children within the standard for pro-social behavior and non-standard for relationship problems with colleagues. It is important that the school is a support network to assist in the development of these students.

Resumen El objetivo de este estudio fue identificar los factores más frecuentemente relacionados con las grietas en los pezones y los distintos tratamientos utilizados para tratar este problema en madres que lactan, a través de una revisión de la literatura científica. La búsqueda se realizó utilizando las bases de datos: SCIENCE DIRECT EMBASE, PROQUEST, SCOPUS y SCIELO, publicados entre 2000 al 2018, además referencias bibliográficas citadas en los artículos seleccionados. Los términos utilizados fueron en inglés y español, estandarizados en los sistemas de descriptores para inglés y español, pero también se utilizaron términos no estandarizados identificados en algunos artículos. Los resultados arrojan que el uso de lanolina, compresas de agua tibia, leche materna extraída y la aplicación de menta son referidos como más efectivos para el trauma del pezón. Considerando los tratamientos encontrados, aquellos que contienen mejores efectos en la estimulación del crecimiento epitelial del pezón agrietado son: lanolina, la colágenas y apósitos de hidrogel. De acuerdo a lo anterior, no se recomienda un tratamiento por encima de otro, debido a que los métodos encontrados mostraron ser eficaces y beneficiosos tanto para el manejo del dolor como la disminución de trauma del pezón.


Abstract To identify the factors most frequently related to cracks in the nipples and the different treatments used to treat this problem in nursing mothers was do a review of the scientific literature. The search was conducted using the databases: SCIENCE DIRECT, EMBASE, PROQUEST SCOPUS and SCIELO, published between 2000 and 2018, and bibliographic references cited in some of the selected articles were added. The terms used were in English and Spanish, standardized in the descriptor systems for both languages, but non-standardized terms identified in some articles were also used. The results show that the use of lanolin, warm water compresses, expressed breast milk and the application of mint are the most effective for nipple trauma. Considering the treatments found, those that contain better effects in the stimulation of the epithelial growth of the cracked nipple are: lanolin, collagenase and hydrogel dressings. According to the above, one treatment is not recommended over another because the methods found to be effective and beneficial both for the management of pain and the reduction of nipple trauma.


Resumo O objetivo deste estudo foi identificar os fatores mais frequentemente relacionados às fissuras nos mamilos e os diferentes tratamentos utilizados para tratar esse problema em nutrizes, através de uma revisão da literatura científica. A busca foi realizada nas bases de dados SCIENCE DIRECT, EMBASE, PROQUEST, SCOPUS e SCIELO, publicadas entre 2000 e 2018, além de referências bibliográficas citadas nos artigos selecionados. Os termos utilizados foram em inglês e espanhol, padronizados nos sistemas descritores para inglês e espanhol, mas também foram utilizados termos não padronizados identificados em alguns artigos. Os resultados mostram que o uso de lanolina, compressas de água morna, leite materno extraído e a aplicação de hortelã-pimenta são referidos como mais eficazes no trauma mamilar Considerando os tratamentos encontrados, aqueles que contêm os melhores efeitos sobre a estimulação do crescimento epitelial do mamilo trincado são: pensos de lanolina, colágeno e hidrogel. De acordo com o exposto, um tratamento não é recomendado em relação a outro, porque os métodos encontrados se mostraram eficazes e benéficos para o manejo da dor e a redução do trauma mamilar

ABSTRACT

Background: The adolescent girls constitute a heterogeneous group who are at risk of various reproductive and gynecological problems. A number of health schemes are already aimed at targeting the needs of this special population. This study was aimed at identifying the special needs of this population group in respect of medical and reproductive health so as to provide a feedback for ongoing health schemes.Methods: This study was a cross sectional analytical study conducted among adolescent girls attending various government and public schools in Lucknow city and adolescent girls presenting to Gynecology OPD of Queen Mary’s Hospital for various complaints in a span of one year from June 2007 to June 2008. After taking consent, the girls were subjected to a questionnaire consisting of epidemiological parameters and questions regarding menstruation, pregnancy, birth spacing, contraception, abortion, RTI/STD, sex education. This data was later analysed. Those presenting to the OPD of Queen Mary Hospital were subjected to further examination and tests depending on their complaints.Results: A total of 1127 adolescent girls in the age group of 10-19 consented and were included in the study. Awareness regarding the contraceptive methods available was present in only 57.8%. 14% (164) girls were aware of reproductive tract infections and sexually transmitted diseases. However, 61% (687) girls were aware about HIV/AIDS in particular. The mean age at menarche was 11.9±1.0 years. 21.5% had some menstrual problem. There were 34 cases of teenage pregnancy.Conclusions: Our study revealed substantial lacunae in the knowledge and attitude of young adolescent girls towards reproductive and sexual health. Despite various targeted health programs from the government, there is a still a need to further our efforts to improve access to health care and adopt methods to improve awareness regarding the health issues of adolescents.
