ABSTRACT

Individuals constantly make consumption decisions, which impact not only the consumer, but also the entire chain that participates directly or indirectly in the creation of that product or service. Thus, there is a need to better understand the profiles of consumers of digital entertainment games, so that local developers can produce games that arouse and maintain the interest of these gamers, making this the main objective of this research. For this, Cluster Analysis was used, through the K-means method for categorical variables, where four personas were found, which were translated by their reference profiles (detailed in D descriptions), and represented a set of similar profiles in the sample space of the respondents, with homogeneous characteristics to this "focal profile". The groups composed of the oldest age group (31 40 years old) and with a monthly income of BRL 2,200.01 to BRL 4,400.00 expressed a prudent behavior in relation to spending on games (they spent from BRL 0.00 to BRL 100.00 in the last 6 months). The other two remaining groups, formed by the younger age group (21 30 years), had different financial characteristics: the one with the lowest monthly income (up to BRL 1,100.00) was not the one who spent the least on electronic games in the last 6 months. (BRL 101.00 to BRL 250.00). The survey also concluded that "autonomy to follow several paths" was highly valued by the 4 profiles, named "withdrawn player", "passionate player", "nostalgic player" and "willing player"" to reflect the main characteristics of each profile.

ABSTRACT

Technological progress has allowed women to change their natural hair configuration according to their will. This type of treatment is very popular around the world, even involving the use of prohibited chemicals, such as formaldehyde. Studies of hair characterization, straighteners and toxic evaluation are available in the literature, although few studies have evaluated the consumer profile or the current legislation of Brazil and the European Union (EU) and its influence on the consumption of hair straighteners. Previous studies from our research group have shown that hair care is essential for the quality of life and well-being of women. Within this context, the present study aimed to evaluate the profile of Brazilian hair straightener consumers, as well as the legislation of Brazil and the EU and its influence on the use of these products. The consumer profile was evaluated by applying questionnaires and the legislation was examined using documental and bibliographic exploratory research. The results provided a full understanding of the current legislation of Brazil and its similarities to EU legislation. It was observed that over 50% of Brazilians currently use or have previously used hair straightener products, even persons who do not have curly hair, suggesting that straight hair is more attractive for today's society. Although the study participants consider the current legislation to be important, over 40% do not know the active ingredients present in the hair straightener they use. Finally, the legislation is not considered in terms of the daily hair treatment routine, with the esthetic result being more important to the consumer

ABSTRACT

Abstract To increase the availability to consumers and add more value to loquat (Eriobotrya japonica Lindl.), which is a very perishable and seasonal fruit, and in order to identify which cultivars grown in subtropical regions are more suitable for jelly processing, the objective of this study was to evaluate the influence of different loquat cultivars (Fukuhara, Kurisaki, Mizumo, Mizuho and Mizauto) grown in subtropical regions of Brazil on the physicochemical characteristics, rheological properties and sensory acceptance of the resulting jelly. Based on sensory acceptance the most suitable loquat cultivars for jelly processing are Kurisaki and Mizuho. In this study it was found that the consumer prefers a more acidic, less sweet, less firm or softer loquat jelly, clearer with a more intense red color.

ABSTRACT

With 23,398 fitness academies, catering for around seven million users, Brazil ranks second behind the United States in the number of units. The objective of this study is to delineate the profile of supervised physical activity practitioners in the three most southern states of Brazil (Paraná, Santa Catarina, and Rio Grande do Sul), analyzing the reasons which lead them to choose a fitness service. Fitness academy clients were also surveyed in relation to their alcohol, tobacco and food supplement usage. Seven hundred and ninety-seven (797) people were evaluated by means of a questionnaire. Data was collected in 24 fitness academies (eight in each state) in the three most southern states of Brazil. It was observed that those who practiced exercise regularly at fitness academies smoked little, consumed few food supplements, and with (50.44%) of those surveyed stating that they consumed only moderate amounts of alcohol. The majority, (34.13%) of exercise practitioners in southern Brazil chose to go to the gym five times a week, (40.99%) went at night, with (40.56%) giving as their reason for practicing exercise as being a way to improve their health. The distance between their home and the gym was the most important reason in choosing a place to conduct training. Intense individual activities were the most practiced type of exercise, there being no statistical difference between the percentages in the three states.
